That poor zerg made pretty much no mistakes, but was helpless against professional micro. I hope they see this, and know how impressed we all were
100% I thought he played extremely well I’d be proud of that gameplay
The guy could have done so much to counter it, he had overlord speed, scout out to see he is only making medivacs and marines, as soon as you see that, you have to immediately prepare. Heck, the very beginning of those drops should have alerted you to the tactics at play, he just stayed stuck at Lings and Banes. Overlord speed for nothing.
It's not even really the pro-level micro, it's the pro-level APM. He just wasn't physically capable of responding to all of the drops and buckled under the pressure.
A 10 minute hive against aggressive Terran is silly.

My goodness that was some insane multi-tasking with all those marine drops across multiple bases. Even with your POV and commentary I had no idea what was going on so I could only imagine how your opponents felt in this episode!
Yeah, he did the same with Heliums - Spider Mines.
I had no idea what the hell was going on, except that at some point he won.

If you're tired of drops, just make Phoenixes. Such underused units that totally dominate mid game, giving you harassment and air control.
Its so cozy to watch Uthermal and chill out. It's like hanging out with the dad I never had.

my god, i knew this challenge would be epic. you're so fast your multi pronged drops remind me of fruitdealer. There was so much going on the casters could not even keep up with how many different drops were around the map.
He is much much faster than fruit dealer, those players look bad now in comparison.

Since watching this I’ve complained a lot less when playing. It’s like, if it uthermal can beat toss with just marines it must not be an OP race…
I remember doing this challenge and beating someone's mass colossus army (something like 11 colossi) by some really sick srround. The marines really do better than you'd expect if they're staggered.

I felt really sad for the protoss... since you'r following very strict rules and are actually trying your hardest to rank up it's not really "smurfing", especially in the later episodes, salt in or near the grand finale is hilarious but earlier games kinda tugs my heartstrings 😅

His confidence when he's ahead in a game and has 2k+ mmr advantage should be high.

3 CC, Early Gases. 4 Racks, two tech. 2-2 W/ Stim and combat shield ~6-11 min timing. No one beats it. Timing W/ Medvacs an option depending on early game and your spacing on the build.

yep i got outplayed bad. (i did not know it was uthermal and his mass marine series) he did a good job preventing me from maxing and force me to attack at the end.

I never really played starcraft seriously (maybe a few hours total) and don't understand all the mechanics but these videos are so fun to watch lol
You could watch PiG Coaching channel bronze to 2 gm series to get an idea
Glad your enjoying the game man, sc2 can be wild if you have the creativity aspect, some people like the mechanics and it's usually the easiest way to win, and some people like making their own strategic playstyles instead of what's "the best"
If you ever wanted to watch some higher level games, you might like Gumiho the Terran player, he's always trying something new it seems,

@uThermal 33:50 you are talking about builds for low level players... I have been gold for 8 years and treat it as a game (no practice, no training, no idea) I just do the same build over and over against any race any map, then do another one over and over. I do all the things that you're not supposed to, sometimes works, most times doesn't. But I have fun. The concept of learning specific build orders per race and per map takes all the interest out of the game for me. I will be happy to sit at my natural league of silvery goldish. Thank you for all your awesome content you SC2 legend. -)
The purple color looks so good, I've been playing defaults but I think I'm gonna switch to Purple (Ally) Yellow (Enemy)
that control group at #24:16 Look at the dot moving across the map :P he comes into vision at #24:44 at the bottom of the screen and at #25:49 he shows up safely at home.

I know it would be very hard to transition to that level with another race. I do find that these challenge are more intersting to me with caster units. So see Templar or viper play would be intersting. I also understand d the reaso he can do these strays is that he is a pro Terran player and being pro with another race is no easy feat...unless you are reynor lol.
Wasn't there a pro player that did mass marines but built a marine train. Lots of barracks that kept training Marines non stop . Been many years since I seen it. But I do remember it being a thing.

Against colossus, can't you just drop or collapse on either side of them and just gun them down, since their beam can only attack one angle at a time?
They still blast marines if they have any cover.
30 marines vs 3 colossus and any amount of support is still a hard fight even full 360.

At least in BW if you clicked on the mass centre of all the dropships they'd do moving drop as a group but it's really hard to figure out where that IS.

Started playing sc2 two weeks ago so there is no plan based on map. Just trying to survive all the cheese in diamond.
Isnt this basically Raven turret build without passive scanning but omega moving turrets?

when playing terran i always go ghosts now, i blame you... but it works
How should a person counter those 3 or 4 drops at a time moves? Would defensive turrets help? Defensive tanks? Anticipate them and pull the scv's passed some defensive tanks?
Air control with anti-air units at each junction that leads to your base plus passive defenses. Vikings, phoenixes and mutalisks/corrupters should do the job alongside with turrets/cannons/spores. Your target should be killing medivacs before they can unload. Even just a couple of medivacs jull of marines lost is already a significant disadvantage to someone who plays with this handicap. You don't even need to have a better economy to win such a matchup, your opponent can have two times more resources and still lose because it's easy to counter marines alone.
I wish I could see this game from ur opponents perspective
The apm in the first game was insane it was hard for me to track all those attacks.

EroSennin is right. Being outclassed by somebody doen't feel good and that's why there are Leagues in SC2. Everyone should play against people on the same skill level... playing against weaker opponents and getting 12-0 just because they are weaker is some kind of trolling as well.
So if someone thinks he's playing bad that's simply the direct result of your "* to GM" series.
Sobering fact is that by watching, liking, subbing to his channel, we're indirectly the ones causing more lower-league players to get rekt.

Beastyqt did a series with cloak only. Banshees, ghosts and widow mines.

Some quick feedback as a sub, this feels like slightly too many videos coming out at the same time given the long length of each video
Do a BM to grandmaster challenge where you have to trash talk your opponent before every attack CombatEx style
Maybe more like the campaign where you have to send advanced notification very theatrically, like, "I'm preparing a drop against your main, watch out!"

Genuine question why is high APM a factor that's considered good?
Like i'd be more impressed if a pro player beat me issuing less APM than me as it shows their calls are calculated and meaningful rather than just click spam to fill empty time they have.
Poor starcraft players are being bullied by pros doing challenges and cheeses.
