- Hey Guys! Welcome back to my channel! In this short but sweet video I show you how I make my tomato sandwich. Believe it or not this is my very first tomato sandwich of the season. I was waiting on mine in my garden to ripen but there wasn’t one big enough for me so I opted to go out and buy a few.
I keep it very simple when making a tomato sandwich.
Fresh Sara Lee White Bread
Garden Fresh Sliced Tomatoes
Dukes Mayonnaise
Salt and Pepper
You don’t have to be fancy to enjoy this treat at all. I love to eat mine with crispy Lay’s Sour Cream and Onion potato chips. This is a combo that you can’t find anywhere but your own kitchen.
Us Southerners already know it’s a taste that nothing else compares to and you only get it with fresh Summer tomatoes.
So if you have never tried a tomato sandwich, run out and buy these same ingredients and make yourself one but make sure that you go to a fresh produce store to get your tomato’s.

Wow thanks Mrs Jackie, you're always informative. Besides you convincing me to eat a Tomato sandwich as u make it, I never knew the "butt of the bread" keeps it fresher. So now I won't be throwing it out. Thanks take care.
Hey Timme! We never throw the butt piece away because it keeps the rest of the load soft. You ever notice the first slice of a day old cake is a little dry so you slice a very thin piece off to get to the moist cake, same thing here. It’s just that even though the bread bag is closed a little air still gets in. If you remove the butt every time you get a piece of bread that first piece will always be a little dryer on the outside.

I always put the chips in my sandwich 😉. The best tomato is fresh picked out of your garden AND thick sliced bread. Oh Jackie! I make my own bread fresh from the oven and it just can’t be beat!

I have never eaten a tomato sandwich. Thise were some pretty tomatoes though.
Taylor you have got to try one but only with a fresh tomato that you get from a produce market or store. Store bought tomatoes will not do you any justice. Duke’s Mayo and fresh bread are a must too. If you’re going to do it do it right.

You sound like my husband…DUKES MAYO!! He’s always they have other brands🤷♀️😜🤪 I hate red tomatoes…never have liked them but I love ketchup, spaghetti sauce, etc!! Hey Amanda! Oh how I love tomatoes period. Now my husband Monte doesn’t like them either but he eats ketchup like it’s going out of style. He even eats ketchup on his steak, yuck. He loves spaghetti and salsa too, go figure.

. Found some local tomatoes the size of a cantalop and thought of a sandwich but decided to slather with mayo (I prefer blue plate) salt and pepper for a delicious breakfast.
Oh my goodness. That brought back some childhood memories. On some Friday nights whenever we were at my Aunt Elwillie’s house she’d cook Chicken Plates. We’d have a piece of chicken with crinkle cut french fries and a lettuce cup made with a few pieces of lettuce topped with a slice of garden fresh tomato and a dollop of mayonnaise on top. It was delicious! My Aunt was a master gardener so her tomato’s were always the best. She’s in heaven now God rest her soul.

Abbott’s is on the right side of the bridge across from Denny’s restaurant. If you are traveling on Reidvlle Road like you’re going to Dave Edwards Toyota turn right at the light at Denny’s. Make the first right beside the used car lot and Abbott’s sits right there on the left. You can’t miss it!
