Rafael'in kaval koruyucusunu düzeltirken murat şahin'in bile bile atak yapıp sayı alması..Çok çirkin bir hareketti.

At least he got what he deserved for attacking Rafael when he was fixing his protection.

+bqumba1 fuck that . that kind of stopping and playing bullshit is what's making wkf karate look so stupid. he did exactly what a true karateca should have done. then the favoritism kicks and the refs don't give him a second when his gloves were almost off which poses a danger to his apponent as much as him. No wonder most people think karate is boring and stupid. Good, no mercy, no nonsense fighting is being traded away for showmanship and woooshaaa stupidity

animakuz True, true. And I think opponents should show respect to each other, so what he did was simply not nice.

animakuz And by the way, many people want to see karate in olympic games, so that's one of the reasons of what we see today, they're trying to make it more sporty with points being awarded and less contact. I do agree that this affects the art itself, more people are training for no-contact and less are finishing their strikes with a kime. It does look ridiculous sometimes. JKA kumite was the real thing once, but a lot of people got injuries so it's another side of the story.

my problem isn't even with the sporty attitude towards technique. It's the constant stopping, fixing karate gui, squaring each other off, fixing gear, dancing, holding each other, shaking hands, bowing for no reason etc. I've seen matches where very few attacks were executed but it was still interesting to watch because you could feel the intensity of the fight between the two competitors. Like they were really earnestly trying to get at each other's throats. The kind of matches you see now look more like friendly demonstrations than actual competitive fights
