I never understood why Sindy and Eva had a beef in the beginning. Eva is a firestorm, yes, but Sindy is chill as fuck. The shooting at the convenience store didn't even involve Eva or Sindy, but each character took it personally. I love how, as the drama unfolded, we find that all Sindy ever wanted was for Eva to do the right thing and report the real shooter. And she did. Then things were cool :)
Bcz sindy and eva are from two different gangs from long beach eva (longos/ mexican gang) (sindy/asian boyz asian crip gang) and the guy who got shot in the store was sindys bf or cousin idk but evas boyfriend (paco the shooter) killed him but earlier in the film sindys bf or cousin was chasing eva and paco and paco pulled a gun out on him earlier and he ran and a shoot out happened
They were from different gangs. Probably exchanged fires some times in the past. They were enemies and i guess they lost people one to the other at some point. That's why they were hostile from the start. After the shooting, they were both very emotionally affected by that.
I feel sorry for Sindy when Paco shot her boyfriend! That may explain why she harbored resentment towards Eva. And her diary entry mentioned her father’s horrific abuse after being imprisoned in Cambodia.
When I was younger I really liked this movie. Now it comes across as preachy as all hell. Of course, the white teacher has to save all of the minorities! How sweet.
i don’t see it as the white savior bs. i see it as a teacher that simply believed in her students because of all the shit they were going through as individuals. she definitely helped mold these individuals and i just know they’ll never forget her.
@@ghostsmiley267 like the movie Friday says you win some you lose some but you live ... don't be afraid to get your ass beat but pulling guns out is nonsense
It took me years to notice that Paco was the one who fought Grant Rice in the school riot scene and the reason is because Grant was apart of the group that jumped Eva in the beginning of the movie which is why Paco tried to shoot him at the gas station. All of these details are hard to notice when you first watch the movie and when you notice them it makes it even better
If you remember correctly those kids are the heroes that will save the streets for change and betterment others.
