Actually guys, DLX kits were birch/mahogany mix, and this finish is #112 natural birch. Phil Collins kit was a custom BLX (first generation), not a DLX. The timing of the endorsement deal helped promote the freshly released DLX kits that were also in Natural Birch finish. The DLX series is actually the forerunner of the Session line. Unfortunately, I’ve never had a chance to try some DLX kit, but I know they are very much appreciated. Best regards from Belgrade!
Yeah!!! the Pearl DLX Professional Séries are in 7 plies Birch/Mahogany/super lamin wood. It's quiet difficult to find informations about this model stoped by Pearl in 1987, but it's sound amazing!! I've made a vidéo about it, follow the link ;) ruclips.net/video/49F2OCekukc/видео.html
Sweet kit. Love your playing, Patrick. Hi from New Zealand. My DLX has played and stood up well in a variety of styles over 30 years and is still my main kit. Great drums.
I have a cherry wine Lacequer early 80s kit 24 in kick . Great sounding drums . Big sound never got a new set until last yr bought some pearl crystal beat for gigs DLX Model i believe they were made in Japan.
Lovely playing and the kit sounds great! I've been playing DLX since the 80's and I'm still looking for a 16" floor tom in the natural finish. Can anyone help?

The only reason to play drums: Pearl DLX, period.
Love birch
Drum testing the reference snare? That's what I mainly heard on this kit. I'm interested in the birch series but I still don't know. Oh well.
Slow down a bit so we can hear the Tom's and Bass drum
NEVVAAHH!!
