I've done this hike. It's tough, no shade, steep canyons, make sure to pack plenty of water and don't miss the refill spots.

@southbaymademe I bring freeze-dried food. They sell Mountain House brand at REI. I like the lasagna. But Buffalo burgers at the airport is a must !!!
