What I love about Story #7 is that Gildedguy is well aware that a good portion of his audience probably do not know what RHG is, but still chose to dedicate an entire animation as a formal love letter to its community.
It's a big risk, because this animation is chock full of nostalgic references and deep cuts, and not everyone will understand them, but I think everyone appreciates the passion behind GG's products that those who don't know much about the history can love it still.
The blue one is called Oxob.
He can use electricity to enhance his speed and agility, his back story is that he was on a rescue mission but got caught up in a place crash which then chopped off both his arms thus getting cybernetic prosthetics which can absorb electricity.
Eventually he couldn’t walk so he had to get leg braces just to get around and he’s an ex HRG member but due to losing time and time again he eventually stopped fighting and gave up.
In story 6, GG Ventures farther than ever as to follow the jade star.
He’s tagged along by Oxob and the two are forced to settle down as a storm roles by.
As they settle down they look at their own scars.
Oxob had cybernetics and his arms stitched, while GGs hands healed over time naturally.
Oxob feels a certain empathy towards GG because he has traumatic scars too, but he gets real with him and basically tells GG “you have a cut, I got slice.” Unknown to what transpired since story 4.
GGs pride gets the better of him and flings the strap into the flames which quickly climb up to Oxob wrists, this traumatically reminds him of his loss towards her.
He burns the cape as payback then it escalates into a full blow fight between the two.
Because the majority of GGs armor is gold, it’s instead of frying him, conducting around him through the armor and into the ground with the earth as an insulator.
Oxob is strong with hand to hand combat but GG is strong in sword combat.
During their battle, bits and pieces of their traumas are replayed before them.
Oxob with his many failures and the memories of Jade and the Helicopter incident flash back and forth.
GG has never really ventured farther than the safety city.
His show down with Bog was a time where he has to fight not for fun but for his LIFE.
And the traumatic events that took place like slicing his hands open to fight with sheer will, the amount of effort just to damage Bog, and just BARELY making it out alive by nights end.
Both have had it terribly rough, the only way through was the fight!
Oxob needed that warriors spark to not let his crutches define him and to give up and GG needed to move past his trauma by going all or nothing.
In the end GG wins and doesn’t need to have those oven mitts anymore, he burns the money with a gold coin to hold them as Jade shows up to pick up Oxob.
She laughs at Oxob in a way that says “so you lost to him too?” And this time he smiles at her and with a smirk gesture saying “yea…”
Story 7 is a love letter to the stock fighter animation group known as RHG (Rock Hard Gladiators).
The story goes as this:
Andre the Hammer is going around destroying the arenas and monuments of the RHG rings.
These places were where a lot of the members of good and bad would fight for sport and usually to the death.
Many fighters lost their lives just duking it out or quit because of complications.
GG searches for his magic pencil and is met with another fighter known as Azel (correct me if I’m wrong…).
They both quickly exchange their battle history and fan boy about the RHG members. (GG make a reference to jade with his leaves)
GG strikes a pose to his favorite member and Z here does the same but accidentally uses his powers which shoots GGs glove into Andres hand.
When they meet the two fan boy even harder to meet one of their “heroes” but are stopped and become shocked as Andre OBLITERATES a monumental statue of a previous member, then another, then another, and a couple more.
Andre CLEARLY isn’t ok with this but deems it as necessary, but after striking Z blocks it trying to get a reason as to why he’s doing it while protecting a monument himself.
Andre clearly doesn’t want to hurt the kid and is taken by surprise when GG grabs his pen back, Andre needs this power to make this quick so he pulls away launching GG into a statue, tipping it, only to be obliterated on the beat.
Andre is one of the founding member of RHG so he’s more than just grizzled when it comes to combat.
He has a physic connection to his hammer which allows him to split it.
The tear drop with the X over it used to be the symbol for the page they used to work on.
When he over powers GG, you can see for a few frames, his skill is out and his stomach is in ribbons.
This has lead many and me to believe Andre came back as vengeful spirit, almost like Jesse the green eyed cowboy.
Andre is destroying them because he doesn’t want those of the present and the future fighters to worship their work anymore, he’s lost many friends in these animations back then whether they died or left.
The last one being his arena, THIS arena.
At the point where he over powers GG and nailing him down with his sword, he puts a visual hypnosis spell on him but stands over him not to show that he’s a bad guy or villainous but rather to prove a point almost as if he’s saying “you don’t have what it takes so let me do my job and stay out of it.”
“I don’t want to kill you.”
GG snaps out of it as Andre just so happens to line up with the bottom of the hilt, reminding him of why he’s a sword fighter, why he became a knight, why he fights, why he is Gilded Guy.
The two team up to stop Andre and show him how the legacy of RHG still lives on by doing their heroes poses in front of him.
They successfully stop Andre but he slips and he accepts his death, but despite that GG and Z do their best to save him either way.
Seeing this, Andres eyes fade into normal pupils not smiling but accepting and realizing that perhaps it isn’t so bad.
He knew he could be killed but they still tried to save him either way which gives his spirit content and acceptation to move on.
All that’s left is the cracked pedestal and after the two fan boy again on what they could do with Andres hammer they realize that’s probably not what he wanted.
So in honor of the deadly fighters before them GG uses some of the pens ink to glue it into the crack and both bow to it as to say thank you and farewell.
GG with Zs help sends him even farther towards the Jade star while Z here goes back.
The girl that fought Andre in the beginning is seen watching them, she’s a GG original so nothing to know about her as far as I know.
In the end we see GG with hardly any armor left and using the pen to slide closer to the mountain holding the jade star, but the pen is close to zero on energy.
GG at this point accepts that he can’t turn back and flies forwards into the mountain.
The finale is close.
The I like the most about these characters and their stories is that it originated from somebody on a forum saying "My OC could win against your OC" and the response was "want to fight about it?" and an entire trend was born sparking a revolution.
I’m going to give you rough background details from Story 7 (and background info that applies to most of the stickfigure stuff you’ll see from the Dojo)
RHG (Rock Hard Gladiators) was created as a way for animators to duel each other. Every animator would have their own OC, and they would be free to create whatever storyline they wanted for their OC through duels with other animators. Characters like Jade, Umbrella and Oxob were all from RHG, with all of them having a storyline from their duels. RHG was a thing way before RUclips, and most of the animators have moved on from RHG entirely, leaving most characters in a sort of limbo as they aren’t being animated anymore. To replace RHG, a new system was created, Dojo Duels. The concept is basically the same, and most new characters nowadays (Gildedguy and Arzon included) are considered ‘Duelists’
In universe, the RHG system is now defunct as most of the gladiators had died during their duels, with Duelists being the main prevalent fighters. In accordance to real life, duelists view RHG characters as heroes since they were the inspirations for them to start dueling. Andre (Hammer Boi) is actually the founder of RHG, and one of the few surviving RHG members. You can come to your own conclusion from here but it’s pretty much agreed that Andre regrets creating RHG as a sport which led to the death of all his friends and thus wants to remove all traces of its existence

Gildeguy's armor is made of gold. Gold was some of the first metal used in wires so it can transfer electricity decently well.
Yeah Oxygen Not Included helped me out with what works for wires 😂
yup and in fact both characters get it fast: Oxob starts targetting unarmored parts of Gilded after he notices his electricity just goes harmlessly in the ground otherwise, and Gilded also tries to cover these (arms behind his back) before up-armoring himself when he can
Fun fact gildedguy has his own skin in Fortnite it shows up in the item shop every now and then

6:13 In the lore, Stickpeople have inherited a sense of spontaneity, so they are very willing to break into dance or start a fight out of seemingly nowhere with little build up.
I don't know if this was explained already, but in the 2 year gap between Gildedguy vs Oxob and Rick Hard Gladiator, Gildedguy released Story #0.
So it's still roughly 1 year between major Story segments, which means you're now going to have to wait to see Story #8 just like the rest of us.
Of course Gildedguy does occasionally contribute less labor intensive animations for promotions, dojo collabs, etc.
Also good luck if you want to immerse yourself more into RHG and Hyun's Dojo content, there any many years worth of duels from dozens of creators.
I mean people have already explained the story really well but the music choice this time gave the story away in a really satisfying way. Rewatch the video with the subs on and you’ll probably get it.
There's a bunch to unpack so uh yeah:
a) If you want to know more about the characters that Gilded Guy fights or references, you could look at the channels of the people Gilded credits with creating them. For example, the character Oxob (the electric guy) is created by the person/ youtuber Oxob, so you can check out his channel and see more about Oxob. Jade is by Camila Cuevas and Bog (the slime guy) is by ACBeam.
b) For my interpretation of Story 6, Gilded Guy and Oxob stop by the campfire together because of the rain. Gilded Guy is haunted by the trauma of Bog while Oxob is traumatized by his own backstory, which while I don't know, the main points seem to be him being tortured, experimented on, and generally beaten around. And at the center of it all seems to be Jade and her clan Nemesis. And who's banner does Oxob see on Gilded Guy's banner? Nemesis, so not off to a great introduction.
I guess Oxob tries to be nice by giving a bandage to Gilded Guy but he declines, then he shows off his stitches probably to say something like "I know what it feels like" or "What happened to you?" but either way, Gilded Guy doesn't want any part of it and he accidentally knocks the bandage into the fire. This may have some personal significance to Oxob making him very mad with Gilded Guy which leads to the fight.
Gold can conduct electricity so for the most part Gilded Guy was fine from those electric hits as his armor conducts it to the ground. Except his leather gloves. So after some struggling, Gilded Guy is forced to confront his trauma and wear is golden gloves. At this point, although he's technically beaten Oxob, Gilded Guy still offers Oxob the chance to fight again not for anything bad or mean, but likely as something "fun" or as a way to let off Oxob's steam/ trauma.
The next day Gilded Guy sets off to get his magic pen (Which is officially called the Stella-pen I believe. The green star is called the Stellapent I think.) and calls a signal for Jade to come help Oxob as a way for them to make up I guess. I think Jade was just laughing off the situation like "Look how bad you look! Haha" and I guess she already moved on from whatever bad stuff she did to Oxob.
c) Others already seem to have done a good job summarizing Story 7, but yeah, the colosseum seems to be a monument of sorts to all the old stickman fighters/ characters from an older time (This is a parallel to the IRL creators of said old stickmen characters at an older age of the Internet) and how newer characters look up to the older one's legacy (Gilded Guy and that wind guy idolizing all the statues and the Rock Hard Gladiator). However, it seems like the Rock guy doesn't like his legacy or doesn't wish it to be remembered, perhaps because his friends died or perhaps his friends went on to do bad things and doesn't want such a legacy to carry on, hence destroying the monument to their past.
Oh yeah, and judging by that skull scene and his "Death" scene, the gladiator may have already been dead and he's just a ghost or something? That's what I got from that. Can't wait to see what's in store for Story 8! Gilded Guy and him-finally-getting-to-the-darn-star-after-like-a-decade.
d) Technically there's a 2 year gap between Story 6 and 7 but that's because Gilded Guy was working on Story 0, the Origin Story "Gilded Guy Gets Up" which itself got delayed so that it could premiere worldwide in Fortnite (alongside his skin, cape and sword pickaxe).
e) Speaking of Fortnite, I'm sure you get plenty of requests and I don't mean to pressure you too much, but I really do think it would be cool for you to react to Fortnite specific content, like storyline recaps, or trailers for seasons/ events/ whatever. Since I get the feeling you don't follow the game all that often.

I believe Oxob was less sympathetic and more like, suck it up, the cuts on your hands are nothing compared to what I've been through. In which case, I recommend you watch Oxob's Origins, and his duel with Xenrath, and later, Jade.
So from what I learned about the Gladiator I more or less managed to process that he was destroying the arenas where his friends fought to the death (the ghosts of the photo), people think they were just ordinary fights for sport because they didn't know they ended up dying at the end of each fight. The other two try to protect because they don't know the true story of the colosseum and just think that it is destroying the story of its heroes. Oh and you can tell they get excited when he comes for a moment for being one of those "idols".
Andre (the creator of RHG and probably one of the oldest Rock Hard Gladiators) destroyed the arena so no more stickfights would happen, because what he created ended up having fighters killed, Arzon wanted to protect and preserve the legacy of it, even if they have to fight the creator of it, while Gilded just wants his pencil back, at the end they did what Andre wanted to do, putting the God Hammer at the middle of the arena, making it sort of a monument and a sign for no more RHG related duels

Yes finally ! Gildedguy in Story #7 talk about RHG who was created in 2007 or 2008 by Stone with his RHG Andre The One Who Have The Hammer And Who Is Color Brown
And Peoples Joined RHG Because The Popularity Grown Up A Lot So Yea :D
And Now In This Generation even if it's been 6 years that it began already now it's Dojo Duel Who is another version of RHG but with more rules or thing like that :D

There’s an animation that has NOTHING to do with the story but for April fools day, he made a sketch joke video called “Gilded NUTS” which was supposed to be a joke on him taking a vacation.
The whole thing was so stupid and dumb it’s actually funny as it gets longer lol.
Now we will wait another year or so for Gildedguy's next masterpiece. Also, after I watched Story 7, I found Hatena360's video picking the details apart to be a great insight to RHG for those who are perhaps new to it. Story 6 has got to be one of my favorite animations (non-minecraft) ever. it seems as though Gildedguy and Oxob are good friends irl.

I really think that the Rock Hard Gladiator/Andre was a Revenant aka A Vengeful Spirit. The scene where his skin seemed to peel off showing his skull and hiw Guildedguy seemed almost entranced after staring at the red eyes of the RHG/Andre. Then how the RHG/Andre vanished in a dust cloud after hitting the ground as if his entire body was made of rock. As if he was already dead.
I called the stone Guy Rock Hard Gladiator but that is the tournament name his name is Andre I shall put his name next to all the areas I said Rock Hard Gladiator or RHG.

RHG is where animators make OCs and compete against other animator’s OCs in a animation fight
The way it works is that The animator would ask for an Animator to compete with them and both animators would start working on their animations of the Animator’s OC defeating their opponent’s OC, If both animators are done their animations it will be put into a poll
The animation with the most votes will be shown
