- Hey guys today I am just cleaning my house while I talk to you about my new pottery class, how ALL i want to do is paint and do pottery and stained glass. Just chatting about the new year and how grateful I am for being able to live this life, for the beautiful gift my husband gave me (pottery wheel and kiln) and for the new pottery class he got me! Also I talk to you about my new painting and what I hope to do going forward!

I got sick this past summer & was on the couch for about 7 days. I never watch tv during the day unless it's tennis & after a few days of that nonstop, I decided to find something else to watch instead. Well I landed on the Great Pottery Throw down. I was hooked. Watched all 5 seasons on HBO & husband came home from work & asked if there was going to be a pottery wheel in the great room the next day. Fast forward to December & I was telling my eyebrow girl about it and she said I have always wanted to do a sip and spin class. So we signed up the next week. It was only 2 hours but when I got home my husband asked how I liked it & I said it was SO hard but I loved it. For Christmas he bought me two private lessons & now a pottery wheel is in my art room & I am going to practice the steps over & over. I too am going to take an 8 week class beginning in March. I can't wait!!! So glad that you love it.
As a preschool teacher we always encourage children to tidy up their toys and resources in the classrooms. It is important for them to respect the resources/toys and their environment. These are life skills that should be encouraged as early as possible.
You’ve always been incredibly creative. Your makeup looks with you as the canvas to your collab with ColourPop. I can totally see you doing this and kicking butt. I can’t wait to see what you do!!

I'm feeling pulled to my watercolors and knitting. The depths of winter naturally make our species lean into crafting of any kind. It has since we became conscious at this level. I can't wait to see what you share! Your cabin is genuinely beautiful. Super impressive for someone who doesn't paint often.

I also did an 8 week course last year and now I’m obsessed and have my own wheel at home. I love art and this medium is for me. It’s all I wanna do and it’s great! So good for my mental health. I’m so glad you are a potter now!!! Proud of you!
Kristi this is so nice to hear! I felt this way about making jewellery; I always wanted to try it, I felt a pull towards it my whole life. I fell in love INSTANTLY in my first class and now I go to the studio twice a week and think about it all the time. So happy that you've found your creative outlet(s) ❤

Graphic and visual designer/artist here that has also been following you for a while, I’ve recently been into any type of art form that will help me push my design thinking and my creativity and seeing you develop this love that you have over pottery would be amazing ❤ I took a ceramics course in high school which was more carving and hand forming my pieces (still have those pieces today). I tried making something on the wheel that day and it was absolutely nuts and wonkey 😂😂. I also still have that piece. Anyway, you’ve always been an artist and seeing you take on all of these different medias and forms over the years has been truly inspiring even through all of your gloomy phases. All I can say is, I’m digging this part of your life where you are acknowledging your true self. Keep going! Your doing amazing ❤❤

I have found myself slowly drifting down a similar path. Previously loving makeup, becoming a mother, and then something shifts and while you still enjoy makeup, your interests change into gardening, homesteading and art. I’m here for the long haul. Yes please do something new to watch from you is always fun and exciting. I did DM you on IG and ask about doing commissioned paintings. Perfection is not what I'm looking for but I just want someone who has a love and passion for it and the same for animals. I have a vision God gave me shortly after I lost my service dog and I want it done so bad. This boy was half of my heartbeat and it's been almost 3 years and I still cry over missing him. Crazy to think but a 62 year old would still feel this way and I still sleep with his winter coat next to me on the pillow. Loads of Love! Sherry

I just went to my first Sewing Workshop yesterday! It was incredible! Making something out of fabrics and thread mind-blowing. I told myself I am going to do one of these free activities. My school does as programs lessons and it was the best decision I've ever made! The address was wrong. I walked for an hour but it was an hour walk well needed. I got to relax. Let go of that anger and show up like myself for the class. I have always known how to sew. I just needed that push and to show up for myself!

When I reflect on my own personal hesitation to be creative and execute the projects i am excited about, I feel like there is something in the messaging to young people that says “whatever you do much make an impact.” And that caused me so much paralysis. The older I got, the more freed I feel from this mentality. I can look back and realize that I simply did nothing for so long. And it hurt to not do those things. So going forward, I’ve been saying “yes” and just getting started on things. I feel so much enthusiasm for ME right now in life. I want to create something. I want that to be a part of my life. I’m trying to find my own version of what Kristi has going on right now. ❤

But this one was especially cool to me because I’m also from Washington and am a professional potter and ceramics instructor. I had a similar experience of something being unlocked in my brain. im not a parent but when i got back into horses in 2023 and bought my mare. im not kidding you. That little spark came back and OH BOY i am FERAL for hobbies lol My poor husband is getting whiplash because i started a literal farm and doing homesteading content on here and ig ...then...I started doing hand painted bibles and getting back into my art and let me tell you the absolute shock that came to my system when someone bought one of my painted bibles.. Someone liked my art so much they bought it! You are so so talented and i can just tell you have the artist bug like i do and my art teacher did. She told me i can just tell you will be good at anything you set your mind on. I CAN NOT WAIT to see what you do with your art!

Awe so happy for you to have found your passion! I'm the same as you, i love art so much, and i just found out the past year that I'm into theology and philosophy and learning by languages, so it's a dream of mine to get into university and get the degrees. But not gonna happen anytime soon. I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old and even having some time to clean up the house is a blessing to me, that's how life is at the moment. Everytime there's time, the little one is napping or playing with her sister, I got to do some writing though not everyday of course but that kinda helps heal my creative soul a little 😅 you're blessed ❤ hope i can have my moment too some day, right now I'm just surviving

I just started my sourdough journey because I NEED a hobby. I've never had a hobby. I don't even know what I like. So far I've really loved baking. So glad you found something you love!
I started mine in November! I have lots of hobbies and hyper fixations but bread making and sourdough baking has been a gem. I’ve now made pretzels and bagels with discard and my family constantly is asking for loaves. It’s so rewarding, so good luck on your journey!! 🫶🏼
@jpolanco1201 I totally relate to the hyper fixating ! I'll go totally over board with no plans of continuing something but sourdough is thankfully cheap abd doesn't require a ton of money! I've made cinnamon rolls, English muffins, cinnamon blueberry bread, blueberry muffins, regular bread and many more with discard ! So fun

I love ANYTHING creative. My daughter bought me a pottery wheel class for Christmas, like you would love to do stainglass. I have always said my hobby is collecting hobbies.
I feel like I'm on the reverse journey of you. I just got into stained glass last year and LOVE IT. It's just an absolutely beautiful and technical yet creative art form, and my feed is filled with pottery content. When I am being creative, it's when I feel the most me and the most at peace.

I love how inspired you are when talking about your newfound interests! I am also trying to push myself more to create this year without the noise of being "perfect". I always love your content! No matter what it is. It's just like catching up with an old friend and it really does help the loneliness of being in a new state with no friends. I'm on my way to getting things together after taking a much needed break between jobs. I felt like my brain broke and all I could do was feed off of expectations of other. I'm finally in a healthier space mentally to get the ball rolling again. About 2 and a half years later, it was gnarly. But with time comes the sun and blooming into a new version of yourself.
