Red River Ice jam - shocking

The Frozen Red River south of Selkirk breaking up and flowing in the spring of 2009. Shocking power of nature! The power of the river forced the sudden evacuation of many residents to the north of here. Several homes were knocked off the foundation by the chunks of ice. Unfortunately 2 people died as a result of the flooding.

This is outstanding footage. You caught a moment in time that bent my mind. I am sure it is much more impressive if seen with one's own eyes. The size of the chunks were enormous. I sure would hate to get caught between any of them. Great Post!!

Oh don't be so harsh Hon. We should all endeavour to make allowance for those who don't necessarilly share our depth of experience. There are probably hundreds if not thousands of people new to RUclips who have never seen the like of this before.
