    Year: 1973
    Album: The Dark Side of the Moon
    Bassist: Roger Waters (but David Gilmour on the re-recorded " A Collection of Great Dance Songs" version)
    Genre: Progressive Rock, Hard Rock, Blues Rock
    ** The pattern overall is 4/4 then 3/4. I felt it easiest to tab out in all 7/4 instead of alternating every measure, however the beginning worked out in 8 instead of 7. Also The whole song has swung eighth notes.
    The riff is real easy to hear in the song so I didn't really have to look up videos of Pink Floyd playing (thankfully) since that takes a lot of time and effort and with Pink Floyd they don't really help a whole lot.
    The song was a request and I had a lot of fun doing it. I first heard it on the radio as a kid, but never really got into it until on a campout with scouts there was a kid who would sing another brink in the wall with me and then he played Money a lot, so I started to get into it. In high school there was another bassist who kept playing the riff in class while we were just waiting around so I got into it and it was fun to learn for the double bass. Then in College my roommate wanted me to play it cause we were jamming in our room and he kept saying that I was playing it wrong, so we looked up how to play it and it turns out I was playing it right! Basically this song has a lot of memories associated with it and it's nice to relive them for a short while whenever I hear the song. Thanks for the request!
    Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)

    Just curious why you went with the separate Rumble head and cab instead of the combo amp?

    • @SamboatMusicBassCovers
      @SamboatMusicBassCovers  4 года назад +2

      I chose the separate for expandability. I can replace either the head or the cabinet later on down the line. Also, having the head not as a combo lets me bring it to places and use it like a pre-amp with the line outs on it. Since it's Solid State and not tube I don't need to give it a load to output. It also works well to have the cab with mixer amps that I have so I can run stuff through it like a PA if I need to.

      Never thought of it like that. Thanks for that bit of insight. :)

      haha, The chair I normally practice in is a desk chair with arm rests so I can't hold the bass like I normally would over a leg. It's similar to the classical positioning for guitar

    • @SamboatMusicBassCovers

      In the description I have my tone settings. My bass is active, and the strings are fairly worn in. The bass has a knob for each pickup which helps me get tones I want. Muting with the left hand is also important to make sure the strings don’t ring out and muddy the sound. I hope this helps!
