Just had the same issue with my Vizio. Sent it off to the repair guy you recommended and within a week I had the repaired board back and a working tv. Thanks!
Very helpful video. I found a used board and replaced the current powerboats (whose mounting screws were loose). No power still. Any other suggestions?
Hey just a note that if you remove the power supply board after unplugging everything, it may still have a charge in the capacitors and give you a shock (as it did to me). Handle with care! You can protect yourself by wearing rubber or vinyl gloves. The repair shop requests you package it with padding - I used bubble wrap. I asked them about discharging the board before shipping and they said I already did (when I got zapped), so it was okay to ship. Also - take a sharpie and mark the little connectors so you know which ones go where, (e.g. L for left, C for center R for right, etc.).
Hello, video was pretty cut and dry. I would like to ask another question. Was your TV starting to turn on intermittently when commanded? Sometimes I hit the power button, get the white light below but had total black screen. I turn off and then turn on and it would occasionally come on, and be working. It did this the past two weeks. Today, no joy. Won't get a black screen nor a white power indicator, lower left side. Vizio P702ui. I did look at the link on ebay, appears they have this model. If you had the same issue before it completely stopped working, probably have the same issue and fix? Respectfully, Kosmo
I removed last night and sent it off to the ebay link you provided. I have the 70" P series. Got nearly 8 years out of it, hopefully I can get some more. Some of the TV's now aren't built as good, not that I'm impressed with the 8 years I got but new LG I bought for the garage is half the weight and 1/3 the inputs and outputs
Hi, my indicator light comes on when pressing power then fades away in a few seconds and even blinks when I try to reset the TV but of course no picture or sound. Would this also have the same issue with the power supply, I noticed you said your Vizio's indicator light didn't turn on. Thank you.
@@Upscaled_HT I seem to fix it and now I have sound and backlight but no pixels, backlight and local dimming also reacts to what's going on the screen but no color or any pixels from what I can tell
@@haywin4601 the solution that kinda worked for me was to take out the motherboard and heat it in an oven toaster (this is to heat up the processor on the board apparently to mend the micro crack that may have developed in processor) on 330° or like 10 minutes or so (I forgot the exact numbers) and everything was working perfectly for over two weeks then it one half of the screen completely glitches out or a minute or two and the whole tv go back to not working except for the indicator light. Two months go by and I repeated the same process and got the same results, works perfectly for three weeks then one half of the panel glitches out then it's no audio no visual once again. I have moved out and left the TV in the garage but I would guess buying a working motherboard would fix the screen. It was a cool project but I replaced the TV around the same time it stopped working the first time.
Why didn't you check the output voltage on the repaired power supply board after installing it, as you did in attempting to troubleshoot the problem before removing the board? Info might have been helpful in the future and would have only taken a couple of minutes.

Awesome! Mine is still working too.
@@Upscaled_HT Good to know. Thanks again
THANK YOU !
Ill have to try this. a shame things can't last like they used to...
They don’t but hopefully it works out for you.

Could be an issue elsewhere. Are you sure the new board is good?
@@Upscaled_HT Thanks, it was a used board so may also be defective. How much did it cost you to have your board repaired?
I wonder what it was on the main board that failed so I could repair the one i have, m60-c3.
They never said what it was. All I know is it worked when I got it back.

Good advice. Thankfully, I had no issues when I disconnected everything.
How do you go about discharging the board if there is sill a charge in the capacitors? thanks
@@pwall921 usually self discharges after unplugged for 10 minutes
When you sent the board to the shop, did they do the diagnosis of repair, or did you have to specify what needed to be fixed?
There was some communication between me and the shop through eBay but they ultimately fixed the problem.
What was the turn around time from sending your board out to getting it back?
It was pretty quick. I’m going to say about a week.

My TV was completely dead and would not work at all.
So there was no warning at all?

I had no lights whatsoever.

I was able to get this fixed as well 👍

I guess the fact that TV turned on was all I needed but that’s a good point.
I mistakenly plugin 110v to to 220v I can possibly to repair
If they managed to fix my board that was broken during shipping, I'm sure they could. You can try reaching out to them beforehand.
Where did you send board?
I sent it to ebay.com/usr/m-tronicz
