    You gotta sell cutlerylover bars and rounds as merch. If I was paying a premium or above spot to anybody I’d want it to be to you.

      @@jasperbaxter640 Us law..."The provisions of the National Stamping Act, as amended (15 USC 291-300) are enforced in part by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
      The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) set the guidelines and regulations for stamping of precious metal jewelry such as platinum, silver, and gold.
      In accordance with the law, it's required by the U.S. government through the National Gold and Silver Stamping Act of 1906, that each and every gold and silver jewelry and related items purchased is marked with a quality mark and marked with a trademark.

      The presence of the manufacture's trademark is an important assurance that the ration of gold to alloy as represented by a stamp on the article is accurate, thus making it conform with the law.

      For additional information, see our website on Importing into the United States. Also, see stamping plated articles under 15 USC § 297 the Hobby Protection Act rules and regulations and the Federal Register, Chapter 8 "Falsely Stamped Gold and Silver or goods manufacturer therefrom.""
      all that said a TON of jewelery ion the US do NOT have trademarks or branding on them, but simply the purity like you will see stuff with 925 and not even a weight..Its all sold by the thousands everyday with no issues at all...

    Don’t forget to grab the little pieces on the concrete slab!! Something no as corse would need ideal as well so the silver doesn’t “soak” into it.

    Wondering if learning how to mold stuff can be learned with cheaper metals like aluminum or copper… and then switch to silver later.

    When i first started making knives, I used my own personal stamp that I bought. It was quite a set up to hold the hot steel, hold the hammer and hold the stamp. Lol. It turned out ok tho. Now I kind of know what I'm doing lol. Or at least what to expect.

      yeah theres a lot of work that goes into it and when doing 20 pieces or 50 or 100+ its a full time job, haha time is money, granted this was my 1st time but these 4 pieces took a total time of around 4 hours start to finish so each pieces averaged an hour to make, whats an hour o my time worth?

    can you practice your technique using lead? or does that "contaminate" the crucible?

    • @cutlerylover
      @cutlerylover  Год назад

      It wont mess anything up but the problem is the metals react different and melt at different temps and cool at different rates but yes if you want to prefect your pouring technique you can do that...

    So I think you need to learn a little bit more about metallurgy. Water and molten metal don't mix. Had you spilled some molten metal into that water, the result would be an explosion. This is why you heated up the mold, not because it was cold....it's to get rid of the moisture. I worked in a foundry.

    Can you use that to temper knife blade. Before dip it in the water?

    • @cutlerylover
      @cutlerylover  Год назад

      Im sure you can but setting the temp on the machine doesn't mean the blade inside the crucible is the exact temp so you may also need a heat gun to check it..
