(The flowers were a gift from her co-star Claudia Jessie on the day filming started.) I'm Latina, but I don't look like many Latinas seen on screen, my features are more similar to Simone's and seeing her in the show and with such success has given me a sense of security that I didn't imagine. I didn't even have to force it, it just happened and I realized how important representation is.
