The older I get, the more fascinating I find gardening.

I don’t like gardening but I do like to enjoy the garden once I’ve put in the hard work. Preferably after returning from fishing! 😂

Nice video Graeme. The joy of growing in the garden, at the same time sustaining our wild birds through the winter on a shoestring, with nothing wasted. If Nobel did a Green prize, it would look like this. ATB.

A clean shoe box on top of the fridge is usually warm enough to keep seeds after the drying stage, just put them into an envelope write the date and next spring they should be viable, if you want more colour try some zinnias mixed in with the sunflowers and clover is a really good companion plant to keep out the weeds, love the videos, have you done a pallet wood birdhouse or bird feeder yet?

Rats like sunflower seed too, next door put them out for the birds, and I am infested with rats,I love birds, I also like rats, but please when feeding birds please consider the people next door, and clean seeds that fall.I have lots and lots of wild birds in my garden, as we have a large pond that attracts wild life.but the rats are coming for the seeds that the birds drop.

That's a lot of effort for a few sunflower seeds, yea if you grow sunflowers by all means harvest the seeds for the birds but if not you'd be better off just buying a bag.
