    I am so happy you raised awareness, and I'm so disappointed in other huge youtubers, public figures, celebrities and the media for staying silent. It's just shocking how a gorilla dies and people protest, and 400,000 Syrians have been brutally murdered and the world is silent. Thank you for using your platform to spread a message.

    Niomi, you are an angel. I have so much respect for your kind spirit. You truly embody what it means to be beautiful inside and out. It is so important that you not feel guilty for living the life you do. You have this reach and voice for a reason, and it speaks volumes about how deeply compassionate you are through raising awareness about this heart breaking tragedy. Your voice has a powerful ripple effect. I can only imagine what would happen if every influencer spoke up about these issues. Thank you. I love you.

    Thank you so much for using your large platform to raise awareness on the crisis in Syria. You are a TRUE sweetheart Niomi. I can't help but wonder why even bigger RUclipsrs like Tanya and Zoe have not used their platform to bring awareness to this heartbreaking situation 💔

      And thank you for leaving all of those donation links for people to help out. Besides Niomi, the only other popular beauty guru that I'm aware of who was brave enough to speak about this crisis on one of her actual RUclips videos is Dulce Candy. If only every RUclipsr with a big platform could be as caring as Niomi and Dulce to discuss these important issues - how much of a positive difference that would make in this cruel world 💔

I've seen a lot of people speaking out and raising awareness on Instagram but it is shocking what a huge crime is being committed against humanity right now, and for the past few months/years. I can't understand what is goes through the minds of people doing these horrific things, I wish there was more we could do but I hope donating will be enough for now.

    Dear Niomi, I can't tell you how happy it made me that you chose to talk about Aleppo in your vlog. I've seriously been feeling the same way for a couple of days now, and I feel so helpless and angry. I've been crying a lot and I also started crying watching this, because I hate not being able to do anything but pray and spread awareness on social media. But what I'm feeling is nothing compared to what the innocent people of Aleppo and Syria are going through. I was really hoping that more people with a big following would talk about this major issue, so I can't tell you how much I appreciate you spreading so much awareness. I hope and pray that one day we all can live in a world where we don't weigh the importance of lives depending on nationality, religion etc., and where our little children get to live in peace. Thank you

    Niomi you're so amazing. I myself was sitting down yesterday deciding which eye-shadow palette to ask for for Christmas when I heard the news and it makes me so upset to think that there could be another 18 year old girl in Aleppo with the same interests and passions and dreams as me, but while I sat contemplating my eyeshadow, she was terrified that she was going to die. It really hit me hard and I didn't know what I could do to help until now. But I've asked my parents, instead of spending €50 on an eyeshadow palette for me for Christmas, if they would donate that €50 to an organisation that could help the people of Aleppo out. I know €50 might not make a huge difference but its better than nothing. I'm also hoping that the organisation thats sending clothes to Aleppo can be sent clothes from here in Ireland as well as the UK. So thank you Niomi for speaking out about this crisis and providing the information about where we can donate xx

    This is why I'm so glad I'm following you. YOU are very aware and it's amazing that you use your platform to bring awareness. There are many you tubers that block themselves from topics like this because they don't want to "be negative" and have a positive channel but to have such a big following and influence is incredible. If I had a huge following I would want to bring awareness to my followers. Bringing awareness to issues DOES make a difference. To each their own I guess. But anyways, you are very admirable. Thanks for your little speech :)

    Man, as an Arab Muslim I truuuuuuuuuly want to say thank you for talking about it. We are quite used to not being in the news unless it's bad, and that's just the way it is. Idk why our blood seems very cheap, but if it wasn't for oil, no one would acknowledge our existence. Syria has been in a state of revolution since 2011, but the past few days have witnessed a serious crackdown on Aleppo, and unfortunately for Syrians, since the world cannot gain anything from it, it turns a blind eye. Having you speak on it and hopefully raising awareness to your following is really helpful and appreciated.
    May we see a day in the future the world talks of the middle east in a way better state.

    • @_Zaaiinaab
      @_Zaaiinaab 8 лет назад +8

      Also, as long as you do your part which is either by donating or raising awareness, you should know that there is nothing more in your power to do, and that you shouldn't feel guilty. There are only so much we have control over.

      ccap3211 it's a proxy war of superpowers being fought in Syria. Russia is backing the Syrian government and the US and NATO is backing the rebels. They're also using the regional powers like turkey, Iran, Saudi etc. So yes it is very much a world war.

    I'm so glad you mentioned Aleppo. A lot of people talk about the politics involved or talk about who's right and wrong but when it comes to it; its just normal people, civilians, who get affected the most. Either by being displaced or killed. It's mostly children who are affected the most, a lot of them are just traumatised to even cry, it's truly heartbreaking that in this century most countries are just standing by and just watching. Hopefully this war comes to an end soon but to be brutally honest i don't think Asad will stop and until he has eliminated the civilians of Aleppo unless he is stopped.

    • @pinkcherryblossam54
      @pinkcherryblossam54 8 лет назад +2

      I think donating to the doctors is amazing as at the moment there are no working hospitals in Aleppo ie they have all been bombed. The last hospital was bombed last month, had mostly children in incubators and the elderly, every started running until a doctor realised there was no other safe place or hospital to run to so they just stayed there and the doctors tried to save the babies and help the injured. A doctor should never have to weigh up which patients life is more important but that's the choice they had due to the resources and the lack of doctors. Sorry for the rant but i hope someone reads this and donates or just spread awareness like Niomi has said. Something is better than nothing! #savealeppo

  • @amelia-ff5pi
    @amelia-ff5pi 8 лет назад +6

    Thank you, Niomi. I was so angry knowing that people with 1 million + followers are not talking. The truth is, sadly, that we cannot all go and help directly, but when we have internet 'celebrities' who reach a following of 11 million people- a huge huge margin- acting as though nothing is happening, it's so frustrating. Viewers who watch these channels need to be informed about the crisis in order for the world to be better, even if it's only by a tiny bit. Can you imagine the benefit big youtubers could make just by mentioning how we can help? It would be incredible; But they just don't seem to plea for help, talk about donations or discuss the issue and it's so so frustrating seeing it. I respect you so much for actually discussing this in an intelligent way. Thank you.

    Western media dominates global media. There are about a thousand atrocities that happen every year around the world and mainly only the atrocities that occur in western/first world countries reach our ears. Also, this may be harsh to accept, but we really only care about the west. It's important to realize that the reason many countries around the world are unpeaceful, poor, unstable, is because of us (the west). It is not only our moral requirement to help these countries, it is also our debt. We owe these countries aid and help as we started their problems in the first place. This is a reality that is almost never acknowledged let alone accepted. So when and if we as individuals donate or in some way help war-torn countries such as Syria, let's keep in mind that we are not doing a good deed, we are simply settling our debt and somewhat paying for the benefits we have been living and thriving off for so many years. And I think it actually is extremely important to read into where you are donating. While you may think you are doing at least no harm by donating, it is possible that you may actually be fueling terrorism through this action. Please help and please talk about Syria. This is not about us or our privilege. Regardless of the reason, innocent people dying is not acceptable.

    Thank you for raising awareness to this issue, for me as a Jordanian sharing borders with Syria and literature hearing the sound of bombs all the way from there, for the last 5 years we opened our borders for almost 1 million innocent civilians (which is equivalent to 20% of our population). Yet i feel its not enough, indeed every little helps! 5€ can b a warm blanket for a little baby feeling cold in this awful weather....

    THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT ALEPPO. For me, it's been the most disturbing part of watching vlogmas this year-I go from watching youtubers fly to places like Germany and Paris and NYC to reading articles about the continued death toll in Aleppo. The divide is so brutally wide and it is painful to see.
    The truth is - YOU HAVE SO MUCH POWER. Really, youtubers as a community can utilize their platforms to have an incredible impact. Using that privilege to further good in our world and to shed light on issues that need more attention is a responsibility that privilege brings. I would suggest taking a more direct approach - getting in contact with leaders of these organizations and asking them how it would be best to help (besides just funding their efforts). I would find refugees and give a voice to their experiences. I would also suggest finding people who are familiar with the issues surrounding the inability of refugees who have escaped to properly continue their lives elsewhere; the stigma behind the immigration of refugees is insane and helping to educate more people about that issue would be helpful. You CAN help! Again, thanks for talking about it in your vlog. No one asked or expected you to and it's always brave when anyone does something like that.

      sofhia kaka know what bugs me? Why are all these youtubers with big followings getting backlash when there is 100s upon 100s of celebrities out there who also never mention it. Not mentioning it doesn't mean you're ignoring all knowledge and that it doesn't affect you. Some people aren't educated enough on it therefore find it easier not to speak about it because they are afraid of saying the wrong thing and offending someone. I personally can never make sense of half the things I read therefore don't put an opinion across because I don't fully understand it. Bugs me that people are assuming that people with big followings are ignoring it because they simply don't care when there is such a bigger picture.

    • @arushishrivastava6923
      @arushishrivastava6923 8 лет назад +4

      michelle roberts with all due respect to you, there is nothing to understand here except the fact the people are massacred brutally and we are doing nothing about it. big celebrities are also included in big following group. if you are truly affected and trying to help your efforts show. they have their words in their mouth when they have to promote themselves as a brand so why not here??

    Niomi, I love you for this. You are absolutely right. Whenever a horrific situation is happening in a country that is not as important as UK, USA, France, Japan, etc. It seems as if it did not matter. Venezuela, my country, is going through a disastrous situation and there is no coverage of it anywhere. I bet that 90% percent of the people watching this video have no idea of what I am writing about, and it is not their fault. We cannot keep living in a world where attention goes to "important" countries. Everyone is important. Every life has the same value. So thank you for sharing this message. What is happening in Aleppo is inhuman, and awareness is very much needed. Thank you.

The fact she has a party that night and instead of talking about how exited she is and all that she is saying how she feels helpless and guilty about her doing well for herself and having a great life and others aren't shows how much she cares about others as much as she does herself! I don't think I've seen another popular RUclipsr address this issue!! THANK YOU!! It's so difficult to know how to help out (aside from donating) because the war in Syria is so intertwined with corruption, politics & greed. There is so much evil in this world but it doesn't seem like world leaders are doing anything about it. The Kardashians get more media attention than the millions of innocent people being killed.
