3 Things You Need to Know About Children On the Move

Children are crossing borders in record numbers, with their families or separated from them, or traveling unaccompanied. Some are driven from their homes by poverty, conflict or the effects of climate change; others leave in search of a better life. Far too many face danger, detention, deprivation and discrimination on their journeys.
UNICEF works around the world to support children every step of the way and to protect their rights. UNICEF sets up Child-Friendly Spaces to give children a safe place to play and learn, provides health care and water, sanitation and hygiene services, and reunites separated children with their families. Because a child is a child, no matter why she leaves home, where she comes from, where she is or how she got there.
