Yeah I couldn’t talk to my Mom for a while after that! Not only was she cheating on a man that raised me as his own, but with a man that abandoned me.

I couldn't really talk to the mom that soon. She would absolutely disgust me. She committed two acts of betrayal, not just cheating on his dad, but with the POS that abandoned him.

Would've ended the marriage with Tabby because her loyalties are beyond moral comprehension. The mother fed all this beta crap to her son and still is a beta even though he confronted his bio-dad. If you have to counsel your wife on morality, you're already behind the eight ball. Think about it. It's just about what's right and wrong.... BTW the mom is a 304.

I guess you must be perfect and therefore think he is too. So he should have held his wife to that same high standard of perfection by never making any mistakes. I doubt that he can walk on water, so it's probably good that he didn't expect her to be able to either. He chose to forgive a lie.

@@kaljlowe She didn't lie about it, she was in all honesty if you look at it there was more then a tiny bit of emotional black mail. (MIL on DIL) No one is perfect, this is one of those times where she thought honestly* by lying* about his mother. She thought she was protecting him from a certain type of damage.
Then they had a massive nuclear fight over it (which is to be expected) She wasn't actually trying to provide an alibi she wasn't trying to enable it; its the truth of the story that she was in her own very wrong and misguided way attempting to protect him by omission. She wasn't right. But during that nuclear argument when they were both lobbing said nukes she was also the only one who tried to back down. Not out of condescension but she seemed to realize they were both nuking each other and they are doing it for all the wrong reasons, time to chill down the emotions and get space. He didn't or I suppose couldn't.
In the end, His wife and him are back together, because they both want to be. Because neither are perfect, this isn't really a tale of brutal betrayal or anything between those two, its a honestly more a case of the damage his own mother caused on his marriage. *Shrug* also she was never 'comfortable' with it. Again I don't excuse it but calling it things it isn't story wise isn't correct either. Now whether you like that about the story is up to you. But those two getting back and working things out is outcome..and since the author states it implication wise, shes not cheating on him nor will. Nor will he here.
Also its a case of do as I say not as I do, the values are 'perfect' but no human can ever be such a thing as perfect.

dads advice to op missed out a vital piece.
respect yourself and occasionally stand your ground.
do not always blindly give in
i think ops mom has been coaching DiL behind her own sons back!
never ever believe the tears! they can start and stop at will. read the situation and then see if the tears may be legit
if wife can cover for mom why can it not work vice versa? thats what op should be asking
what rubbish...if you always treat a woman llike a queen you will be treated like a servant
she will lose respect for you
treat a woman respectfully and equally. just treat people the same way you would want to be treated! regardless of gender
until they treat you badly. then give as good as you get.
damn. was some strong points well made bbut trailed off into a pathetic whine at the end

@@kdeville87 I understand your point but I believe prenups are more effective than postnups. But integrity in a partner is just one of the crucial components in the foundation of any relationship, not just marriage. If you have a mindset of 'what he/she doesn't know won't hurt him/her', how deep does that rabbit hole of deception go? Is there even a bottom? Having to 'verify' anything a partner says/does, or spy on them is a whole o lot of stress I do not need....😅

    One million dollar question:
She used the exact weapon which pierced him... He was upset with his mother and she used EXACTLY THAT to win against him..
    HITTING HIM AT HIS LOWEST..
"I'm not a s*t like your mother" and she smirked about it...

Well in an emotionally charged argument that devolved into a nuke lobbing contest... She lobbed her own back in her own stupidity. He accused her of cheating on him in his own hurting. Now she also hurting that she thinks he actually believes that (along with the guilt of his mothers stuff) tossed her own emotional nuke right back. Fairly easy to figure it out. the Smirk was in my mind anyway a defensive reaction to being hurt and insulted (not justifying anyone or either side but to me anyway its fairly simple how the argument got there)
There is also the issue where if you look not even really between the lines you can see the the emotional black mail she (MC's mother) used on her own DIL. She even notes it in the end , and even regrets more or less more then anything else as it harmed her son.
