I would like to believe and see it in canon that Leo stepped up to be Casey's Sensei or pseudo dad because Raph was his original father figure who happily took care of a baby in the raging apocalypse. Whether Cassandra found him on the street or gave birth to him, I believe that she handed Casey over to Raph the most originally because he was the most "baby person" in the family. And after he died, Leo wasn't able to leave Casey all on his own without his mom and dad, and stepped up in his brother's place to raise him because he wasn't able to betray Raph's memory and wish to have Casey grow up as well and suppported as he could be under the dark circumstances. And, you know, he also wanted to make sure that Casey will definitely survive the apocalypse under his guide. I know it's dark and dramatic and all, but imagine if this was in canon. And Casey doesn't even remember his original "dada" until he suddenly has a dream about him in the middle of the night or something. 🥲 Yeah, that could happen and it would pull on my heartstrings right away. 😭🤧😅 I just can't really picture any other serious connection between Leo and Casey, if I look at how they were never the closest characters to each other in any other version. It would make sense for Rise Raph to start out as his dad in the apocalypse, considering how Raph is always the closest friends and teammates with Casey out of all his brothers in almost every TMNT version. 😁
