""The Meow Mix Theme" was written by Shelley Palmer in 1970 and performed by a singing cat. The idea came from Ron Travisano, at the advertising agency of Della Femina Travisano and Partners, who had the account with Ralston Purina in 1974. Travisano put together film footage with editor Jay Gold, looping images of a cat to make it look like it was singing. The music was then composed by Tom McFaul of the jingle house Lucas/McFaul, one of the major jingle-composing houses at the time. Working from Travisano's film, McFaul wrote and produced music to fit, with the actual meowing performed by professional singer Linda November.[3][4]
Travisano then came up with the idea of adding English subtitles, along with a bouncing ball pointing out the words.[5]"
FACT: The CIA uses this song to torture prisoners (by playing non stop for days).

I came to listen to this commercial after reading that CIA supposedly used this as a method of mental torture by playing this non-stop day after day.
I used to love this commercial as a child. I still do! I adore cats and this commercial is so cute!!!
Imagine saying meow multiple times for a commerical then finding out your voice was used to break peoples minds in the CIA
And now imagine being forced to listen to this all day long...
what a grat commercial, I sure hope it wasn't used by the CIA to torture detainees

This classic advert still make me laugh out loud to the point of bringing tear's to my eye's nearly thirty year's after i first saw it.
I started to sing it the back of the class at school once and everyone joined in,even the teacher thought it was funny.
Who ever thought this up i thank you for all the laughter.
