    I have the fc6500 in a 5x5 , I bought the fc4800 first and it ran at 22c in my Canadian basement so I switched to the fc6500 and it runs at an unreal 23.5c with the driver in the tent ! I'm over the moon impressed , at 67 years old I've run a few light's and was tired of fighting heat so I went from a CMH 1000 watt DE pulling 1000 Watts from the wall to 650 Watts ! It smokes the CMH , my plant's at 4 week's of flower look like week 7 under the hid ! Finally .....15" from the light and no problems ! Per Mars Hydro: For the SP 3000 and SP 6500 lights, the previous version is with IR and UV chips. Since March, we have moved the IR and UV from the SP 3000, SP 6500, and FC 6500 lights. Also, the new FC-E6500 light doesn't have IR and UV chips. The reason is that these lights' main customers are personal growers who pursue the best results or the commercial project customers; they prefer to independently control the IR and UV lights time, don't need the IR and UV chips on the light itself. Mars Hydro also will issue independent IR and UV lights in the second half of the year.

    video production and quality are very high, well done. it has been good but gotten even better 👏 I can tell you are a prof by day/an experienced teacher in general because you tell us right away its probably too much light, then repeat it lol, it is effective, because if you don't come at it this way people will buy it and burn their plants.. it is too much light for most average home growers. that hang height is crazy, but this light certainly has its application as you mention. well done video and review 👍👍

    Seedling period cost:
    3 week seedling cost: $23.13 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 510 watts in veg mode, 18 hours/day.
    Vegetative period cost:
    30-day veg cost: $31.38 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 510 watts in veg mode, 18 hours/day.
    6 week veg cost: $46.26 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 510 watts in veg mode, 18 hours/day.
    8 week veg cost: $61.69 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 510 watts in veg mode, 18 hours/day.
    Flowering period cost:
    6 week flowering cost: $41.13 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 680 watts in flowering mode, 12 hours/day.
    8 week flowering cost: $54.84 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 680 watts in flowering mode, 12 hours/day.
    10 week flowering cost: $68.54 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 680 watts in flowering mode, 12 hours/day.
    12 week flowering cost: $82.25 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 680 watts in flowering mode, 12 hours/day.
    14 week flowering cost: $95.96 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 680 watts in flowering mode, 12 hours/day.
    16 week flowering cost: $109.67 at $0.12/kWh; Assuming 680 watts in flowering mode, 12 hours/day.
    Total Electricity Cost per harvest:
    Here I combine 1 scenario from each of the three growth phases above to arrive at a total grow light cost for one harvest.
    Short flowering period: About $80.22 at $0.12/kWh.
    3wk seedling + 30 day veg + 6wk flowering = $95.64 at $0.12/kWh.
    If you want to grow the plant a bit longer, it could cost $136.22
    3wk seedling + 6wk veg + 12wk flower = $151.64 at $0.12/kWh.
    A long vegetative growth phase of 8 weeks + very long flowering phase of 16 weeks, could cost you $194.49 at $0.12/kWh.

    So... 2 sp3000s can hang at 19.5 inches and cover the same 4x5 -- better and cheaper?

    • @DrMJCoco
      @DrMJCoco  3 года назад +2

      It would be about the same price... Yeah, I would recommend 2x SP3000 for most spaces, especially tents - but if you have high ceilings the SP6500 might work better. I think the SP6500 is more suited for larger spaces with several of them each covering about 20-24 sq ft.

      Wow, the price is impressive. It's a nice light, if you have the height.

    What would happen if you used SP-6500 (1000+ umol) without co2?

    • @DrMJCoco
      @DrMJCoco  3 года назад

      Photoinhibition. Plants can try to avoid excessive light = "photo protection responses", but if it is consistently too high it will lead to photoinhibition which slows photosynthesis. It can also lead to bud bleaching/clorosis. If you can see evidence of too much light on the plants then you are already well past the optimal point. Grower Love

      @@DrMJCoco Thank you my friend. SP-6500 is very impressive. I saw your whole 1-hour video about the SP-3000 and I thought that 2 SP-3000s in 4x4 couldn't be beat, but SP-6500 had a better distribution despite being just ONE big strip. Very strange.

    • @DrMJCoco
      @DrMJCoco  3 года назад +2

      Yeah, it won't cover the ends very well and there would be a lot of light in the middle. I think with 7' in one dimension you would be best to use 2 fixtures. Perhaps 2 of the FC3000s - check out my video on that one, two of them might be a good choice in that space

    Mars hydro is killing the LED game once again. Could also kill your plants if you don't know what you're doing. Lol with this light anyway.
    I do find it disappointing they didn't put the uv diodes in the fc series models yet. I have the fc-4800 and it doesn't have them even though it was advertised on Amazon with them. Emailed them about it and they came up with some janky excuse of having shortage of the diodes and won't be available to the public for another month or two. Why sell them advertised with them and not have it.. Good lights but bad business with the false advertising.
