Can't you just steel puns from the comments section? Sure you'd have to iron out the bad ones, but it's not that hard! Judon't have to throw just because your pun game is a little rusty!
it becomes much more entertaining to watch if you side with the vek instead and laugh at his misfortune instead of getting angry over him making bad plays
Whenever I see people endlessly complain about NL misplays I just kinda don't understand what people expect. And I don't meant that in a "NL's bad lol" way, I mean like... he's not bad. Have you people ever watched normal human beings play videogames? Your standards for 'competent' play, let alone good play, are hyper inflated.
To be fair it wouldn't actually have made a difference. If the mech repaired, it would have then taken 2 damage from getting pushed + bumped and died anyways.
I feel like the ice generator was the worst thing that happened to this squad. Dunking 5 reactor cores into that module alone keeping every other ability almost useless, all while depriving him of the XP that could have been obtained by killing those that were frozen instead.
On the plus side it wins every fight by itself. If you notice the game considers the frozen enemies "in play" and therefore the spawns are extremely light. He might be weak XP wise, but it's not going to prevent him from beating the game with freeze.
There is literally 0 way NL can beat the game with this squad without it. A blessing and a curse. But the way he uses it as a crutch is hella sad to watch.
Well it seems to work out fine for him. I tend to power the base modules, because that seems like the easiest way to win (you don't depend on what modules you find). But what NL did is not bad: instead of trying to find a way around the steel judoka weakness (no damages) he doubles down on it.
I was typing out a joke comment "Does NL realize you can use repair and break out of ice or did he not catch that in 7 and a half islands of cheesing freeze mechs" then he noticed it in the middle of the stream.
Man that freeze is probably the worst thing NL could have gotten on this campaign. He relies so heavily on it that he doesn't even notice the simpler and more effective plays and learned literally nothing about using the Steel Judoka the way they're intended to be used.
Not possible without relying on Grid Defense: - If you're firing Artillery on the tile SW or NW of the burrower, then the SW building tile threatened by the burrower takes damage. - If you're firing Artillery on the tile SE or NE of the burrower, the Power Plant takes damage.
Feels like there war a perfect island in that if NL didn't tunnel vision on ice meta that hard. Using the tunneler in the last mission to help with the Goo might have done the trick. Some suboptimal turns but in the end...
Hahahaha What a scrub actually forgot repairing a giant metal mech breaks you out off frozen ice. Duh as if that doesn't happen in the real world. . . . . . I gotta admit I didn't actually know that until this episode. Im sure it said it in the beginning but I just threw it in the back of my mind.
they're going to nerf freeze in the future right? its almost like a one hit ko for most situations. I think some vek, especially the boss vek, should only be frozen for one turn

Someone should really tell NL that player mechs can get out of ice by repairing.
You're in luck, the game itself tells him that (see 16:37).
alas, it was too late for... that guy.
I'm sure he'll forgot about that feature 10 seconds after learning it, like he usually does.

The first 50 or so episodes of slay the spire were pretty mindblowing
6:15 YOUR SNIPER HAD A ME... Ahem, YOUR MECH COULD HAVE REPAIRED
To be fair it wouldn't actually have made a difference. If the mech repaired, it would have then taken 2 damage from getting pushed + bumped and died anyways.
JokingJames2 actually he would've lived. That mech was armored so he would only take one from the bump.
Black Light Oh yeah, you're right. I forget that some mechs have armor without Abe as the pilot.
1:10 "Let's freeze everything, thereby limiting the number of enemies we can force to attack one another."
Yeah, it's the squad's fault.

"weak XP wise" meaning "every pilot on max level if alive"
Who needs XP when you just win? lol
You can only time travel one pilot anyway.

You can repair while frozen. I know you'll eventually get this by episode 129.

I STEEL can't believe he ran out of punny titles...
Thanks for the company.

*Proceeds fo abandon chance for perfect island
Miguel Gonzalez C'est la vie, Captain Hindsight.
STEEL BAD, EGGLORD, STEEL BAD
Steel Judoku are strong if you make enemies hit enemies, which you can't do if you freeze them all
Man that freeze is probably the worst thing NL could have gotten on this campaign. He relies so heavily on it that he doesn't even notice the simpler and more effective plays and learned literally nothing about using the Steel Judoka the way they're intended to be used.
3:00 This is why Building Immunity is an important upgrade.
Man when is NL gonna learn that freezing psions is a horrible idea?
Bought the game today. On my 4th run I got a 4 island victory with the original squad on normal. Really enjoyable
Oh god, someone actually can live without Building Immune on the Artillery.
I honestly wouldn't have minded if you skipped ice land since showed it had burrowers but props to you for going for that 4 island win
THE TITLE META IS OUT OF HAND!
Yet fuel can't melt steel puns
Is it my eyes playing tricks or on the first battle on the last turn he could have hit the burrow guy from behind, give damage and not lose power?
Not possible without relying on Grid Defense:
- If you're firing Artillery on the tile SW or NW of the burrower, then the SW building tile threatened by the burrower takes damage.
- If you're firing Artillery on the tile SE or NE of the burrower, the Power Plant takes damage.
I love this game 🤣🤣 it's my favorite thing to watch when I get home from work
have you ever played front mission 3 on ps1 or emu android
Best title yet
Not a shell mech. Psion LORD! :) Looking forward to the next 1

Ok, gotta admit, love the meta title.
He seriously hates the judo mech huh? he's just flat out ignoring to even heal it now...
Rants about how *this one time finally* he'll spend cores on building immunity for the artillery. Gets two cores, doesn't do it anyway. D:
You're prominently featured in a game called Monster Slayers, a TCG Roguelike, but I don't see it on your channel. Might want to check it out.
He's done it.
Why are we steel here ? Just to suffer ?
What, did someone steel all your puns?
Could he not merely have healed his judo mech before blasting it so it would have ended up with 1 hp and not 0?
Hahahaha What a scrub actually forgot repairing a giant metal mech breaks you out off frozen ice. Duh as if that doesn't happen in the real world.

Awww but I was looking forward to the steel pun eggman :(

NL's plays into the cheesee
I keep seeing the thumbnail and getting excited thinking that you’re finally playing Mass Effect 3 and always being super disappointed
[MR STEEL YO GIRL]
they're going to nerf freeze in the future right? its almost like a one hit ko for most situations. I think some vek, especially the boss vek, should only be frozen for one turn
I feel your pain NL, this squad seems terrible
Hi Ryan
Trying to steel a four island victory eh?
*FRIGG!*
10/10 he loses at the renfield bomb section
mass freeze still might carry
Egg bad at Steel lords he can’t judoka all the different things at hand
Is there by any chance a mobile game that is similar to this game?
XxbominatorxX X-Com: Enemy Within has a mobile port.
Felix Kam thank you I will check it out :)
I am on android, and don't care if it's free or paid.
If you're going to play bad could you not sing?
egg
Is your steel pruduction running low, do you need more iron, I heard that's a big problem in our current society
I actually didn't enjoy this run. The freeze power made NL lazy and he didn't even try to really use the squad 90% of the time.
Thumbs up but you seemed a little "off" on this play through.
If you would of concentrated your firepower on the goo you probably could of perfected the island...
