It’s real nice that wraith was able to be put in a good spot, I remember for awhile he was regarded as either the worst or second worst killer at a time.
IMO all Clown needs is a tweak to his controls. Also, I honestly don't think it would be too strong if they removed the clunky swap mechanic altogether and gave him a dedicated "throw yellow bottle" button, which would encourage people to actually use them.
Demogorgon, from what I remember, got one change where one of his old Iri add ons gave him the ability to use shred to break pallets. They made that basekit and changed the Iri.
In many cases, the changes Behaviour has made are good when looked at in isolation, but the net result can still leave the killers in a bad spot - what would be useful is to have a second tier list ranking how much every killer is in need of more changes, from nothing to tweaks to total reworks. Addon changes, buffs/nerfs, quality of life issues, or fundamental kit redesign.
demo used to need an iri addon to shred pallets. Making that basekit was a huge change at the time. For a while demo was the undisputed pallet shredding king. He also got a movement shadow buff- you can slightly curve his shred whereas you couldn't before- It gets me many dirty hits at pallets and I
Pyramid Head's Punishment of the Damned (beam attack) was also far wider in PTB/release day as well; about the width of downed pallet. It made him considerably harder to dodge and almost guaranteed a hit, if the Killer player made a good read. Now, the beam attack is far too narrow and sometimes you don't get a hit, even if you predict correctly.
As someone who played a fair amount of Knight - the recent changes were actually quite significant, previously his power was pretty much only used to chase survivors off a loop which many complained was dull (the counter becomes "just hold W", increasingly a problem in DBD), now you're incentivised to set longer paths and your minions have a chance of actually catching survivors on their own which is a huge improvement. The AI remains buggy and they do stupid things all the time, but what can you do? Many Knights still resort to the boring antiloop tactics but at least now it doesn't feel like that's the only viable playstyle. No matter how you play he's a pretty weak killer, but you know what - he's FUN, and the changes really helped with that.
I would say now the Knight can be quite solid, if played right. Obviously if you put a guard in a loop to deny it, you make yourself predictable and survivors will 100% hold w. I agree the AI could receive more changes bc it's hard to make a guard hit survivors. Personally I would make all the guards fast as the assassin, but with different hunt/patrol duration. Also jailer should have more effect than just detecting better. The problem with knight is yes the 3 gen is really good with him and in some situations survivors can't do absolutely nothing. Maybe to make the antiloop fairer, for example if you drop a pallet and hit a guard, they disappear, but if you drop the pallet bad and don't stun the guards, they still can transpass it. I'm a knight main and I also think he's fun to play, but I agree he could get other quality life improvements.
On release in the PTB Pyramid Head could see where the cages were and they wouldn't change location whenever he was around the cage leading to huge facecamps.
The Hag change is a nerf. You only deal with flashlights so often. It's bad enough her Iri add-ons are memes that take away her power. Now literally everyone can.
Exactly. This will be reverted or tweaked eventually- i'm calling it now. Once swfs adjust to this it's going to make setting up your initial web damn near impossible unless you lay it down immediately and get lucky enough to not get spotted. Idk what they were thinking. At bare MINIMUM it should proc a loud noise notification when a trap is wiped away. Probably just gonna avoid playing hag while this current nerf is in play.
Demo had an add on that his special attack cooldown was like save the best for last. Same with breaking pallet, he recover really quick, making him kinda of overpowered with those add on
Trickster also feels bad to play cause on certain loops you basically just can’t use your power cause of high walls and stuff and you’re reduced to a 4.4 M1 killer
the worst part about old doctor is that if u were on treatment mode, while in front of a hooked survivor, u could tap the attack button (as it was the way of starting charging the shock) to constantly have a chance to grab the survivor without taking ANY risks
I think one of the most notable changes to myers was hmthem giving him the bloodlust in T1. Which i think was a somewhat recent change but it helped him overall and made scratchmirror more viable as a serious build.
Iirc Hillbilly also had a much older rework/bug fix from when the game was pretty new. If you used the mouse and arrow keys he’d have a much greater turn speed (idk exactly how much), and with high DPI, he could flick pretty much 180 degrees at the end of the chainsaw, which let him score hits much easier
You missed the *MAJOR* nerf Huntress got some time ago to her Iri hatchets -- the add-ons that increase the number of hatchets that she can carry no longer affect Iri hatchets, so now she can *ONLY* ever throw just one Iri hatchet before needing to reload at a locker.
@Kyto There's a large portion of players who do. Otzdarva is one of them, as Freddy was his secondary main until Freddy was reworked, and many other Freddy mains hated the rework since day one. Nowadays, a lot of other content creators like Tru3Talent and PixelBush said old Freddy was superior and more interesting. Old Freddy followed the rules and themes from the films. You could watch someone get injured and down from an invisible force while they were asleep. The dream world was actually a threat, having your actions speed halved and having your location always revealed to a stealth killer no less. It also took legitimate effort to wake up by failing a skillcheck or doing a wake up action from someone else, and the Freddy player felt like they were actually in control at all times. If people actually played him as intended and didn't just bum-rush chasing people with the terrible block add-ons, they could see his potential. Freddy wouldn't be the worst killer if added today, and he absolutely wasn't back when he was in the game. Old Hag, Doctor, Leatherface, Trapper, Wraith, Legion, etc. were much worse.
10:25 @ kyto biggest change was to nerf huntress addons. She used to be with both speed up charging addons so quick, she was throwing one by one. She was called machinegun huntress back in the day. Very frustrating, no counter play with pallets, she was following, survivor drop a pallet, she doesn’t even had to charge before like she has to, just quickly charge and instant throw. And don’t forget change with iri head add on and old belt when she had 3 insta down hatches. Both were changed required
Yeah and also, the removal of the flashlight interation with the Hag's traps won't change ANYTHING. When i go against a Hag i activate her traps and avoid the hit.
you can thank me for those plague buffs, i was probably one of the only 3 people playing her before her buff and I would bother the game designers' at the time everyday on their personal discords asking for and suggesting plague buffs.
Demo main agrees. I find it amusing that everyone whines so much about the oppressive 3 gen meta, but very few people seem to know that demo can run whistle + upside down resin and lock down up to 6 gens permanently, even with no supporting perks. It's been busted for a while now and that's just one example of demo's addon range being too strong.
i still want Legion to swap with its members to confuse survivors on who is chasing them. also Legion should be able to crouch like in the trailer since when they were introduced, they were supposed to be a stealth killer that confuses survivors because Legion looks like a survivor.
myers in my opinion deserves good change for multiple reasons #1 he could stalk multiple people at once causing him to tier up extremely quickly #2 the survivor being stalked would hear a piano and violin when he was about to reach tier 2 #3 so soooooooo many of his add ons slowed him down that in tier 1 it felt unplayable
Hi Kyto! You’ve inspired me to become a dbd content creator! I love your videos and I think you did a great job making unique videos! My favorite one so far is when you were simping for David lol! Anyways, do you have any tips for starting a dbd channel?
I came back to this game a month ago after not touching it since 2019. The occasional Monto video aside, I've not been keeping up at all, so theres been a loooooooooot of things that are just so damn different these days. BT basekit and Self Care a meme? How times have changed. Kinda wish there'd be some long "the history of DbD" video that just goes over all the big changes since I have to pretty much learn a whole new game now, but that'd probably be like 3 hours long. xD
I'm pretty sure that the reason for Demegorgon never getting any updates is just simply due to Stranger Things no longer being a part of the game so not as many people can get him anymore meaning that changes are pretty pointless. Also the changes made to Legion are fine, but with the changes made to Deep Wound it actually kinda makes him a bit bad since the timer will always be paused as long as you are running and the only time a survivor that is afflicted with Deep Wound is gonna stop running is if they're gonna mend and by time they mend Deep Wound is gone making it a pretty useless effect. Like, because of this change, I feel like they should make an addon for him that basically kinda changes his ability back to how it originally was on release where he could keep slashing up the same survivor to down them, but have it to where if he hits anyone other than the original person he started slashing it will end his power. That way it would give it some counter-play for the survivors since people already like to body block the killer as is to keep them from downing someone. The addon I feel like this could easily replace would be the Fuming Mixtape since people rarely use it and that addon doesn't really do much of anything beneficial for Legion to begin with anyways.
the huntress used to one shot if the hatchet hits the head of survivors + the iridescent add on of one shot hatchet used to let her hold 3 hatchets ignoring all other add-ons .
In my own opinion, wraith immunization to flash light is a great change, as a survivor, I hardly lose to wraith thanks to the flashlight, as wraith I have to deal with survivors with purple flashlight with built to last, I'm literally punished for trying to kill survivors
The Knight's rework was actually very good. Something as simple as "give survivors a pinch less information" changed everything and turned him from a killer that was conceptually fun but lame in practice into one of the most fun killers ever. And the haste was cool too, I guess.
the reason trapper doesn't start with all his traps is that trapper mains will find playstyles to completely zone out survivors with his traps. a much better way to buff him is to make him craft his traps. It still slows him down but he doesn't need to go to dead places to pick them up. To boost him even more I would give him a speed buff when a trap gets triggerd or disarmed
Knight received a nice set of changes in the same patch as the latest nurse nerf to encourage him to use his guars in long patrol routes. They made it so survivors can no longer see the big green orb past 10 meters, and that you and your guards gain bonus movement speed if you create a patrol route longer than 10 meters. Aside from that, in order to deincentivize camping, they made it so the Knight loses his undetectable if he stays on patrol mode for longer than 10 seconds. Overall, didn´t fix all of his problems, but I think it was a step in the right direction for Knight.
Freddy Krueger is still incredibly weak. His snares are a joke and the dream pallets stop working as survivors realise which ones fake. So basically Freddy is just an M1 killer who can go to generators sometimes. Terrible
It's 100% nostalgia but somehow i liked the mode change on Doctor. Don't get me wrong, he was weak af and needed a rework but i just like those mode change powers like Pig crouch or de/manifest
good video but i feel like you missed alot of important things like how wraith wasnt 150% move speed while cloaked for 5 years, demo not being able to shred pallets, how they gave twins a STUPIDLY long cool down with victor downs, legions cool down when exiting power was 4 seconds long, plague used to spawn with 0 corrupt fountains, trickster had INSANE recoil that made it super hard to consistently hit knives in a row, things like that but overall good video
11:23 Imo, Legion was never overpowered, not even close. Release Legion had no counterplay, they'd hit you over and over and over again and then you'd go down, however, that in itself isn't actually good due to the time inefficiency in doing so. Hitting a Survivor twice with your power DID put it on a 15 second cooldown, that only started recharging after the 3 second fatigue, meaning you could only hit a Survivor once every 18 seconds with your power. The Deep Wound Timer was 30 seconds, and was reduced by 15 when equipped with old Frank's mixtape, meaning you'd get a down after hitting the Survivor 4 times every 18~ seconds (need to catch up too). Base Legion had to hit 5 times for a down Here's a list of other things that was bad about release Legion: - They were 110%. - They had a 24m terror radius, so they had worse detection. - Frenzy lasted only 6 seconds. - Legion couldn't search Lockers while in Frenzy. - Basic attacks completely depleted the power gauge. Release Legion couldn't chain hits with only a 6 second Frenzy, so they were forced to get Deep Wound downs. They couldn't chase either, being only 110% movement speed, and were completely countered by lockers (like release Victor). Legion sucked, then they got nerfed to oblivion with over 9 nerfs, slowly buffed a teensy tiny bit and then got a massive rework. They have never been great or even really good, this is their best iteration in both design and power level so take that as you may.
Personally I think removing Wraith's light burning was a good change. I agree that removing hag's traps and artist's birds and burning the nurse was a not great idea, but that's mainly because those are strong killers who can afford those unique interactions without a huge detriment to their power (though an argument can certainly be made for hag). Wraith isn't a bad killer, but the existence of lightburning really knocked him down a peg, and held him back from being really great and on top of that just didn't feel good. Now that that roadblock is gone, Wraith is fun and decently strong, and I think that's great.
I agree, idk wtf he keeps harping at this not liking unique game mechanics removed. Like yea, if it's cool and adds to the game without adding frustration and taking away fun in an unfair way sure, but blinding the wraith out of his already pretty basic and decent at best power is just stupid and indefensible. Just because it'd a unique mechanic doesn't make it a good/fair/fun mechanic.
Demo got a huge change after the ptb thought. He wasnt able to shred pallets by himself he needed an addon to be able to break pallets with hid power. Its a mechanic that most if not all demo players use.
Part of me still thinks that survivors should have to be in the dream world for Freddy to be able to teleport to gens, because that would actually encourage survivors to wake up. It has never made sense to me how he can teleport to gens even if the survivors aren’t in the dream world. BHVR could also give Freddy a built in Discordance effect (only without the requirement for two or more survivors on the gen) whenever one or more is on a gen while in the dream world. As it stands, I see no point to wake up. I have a good memory and I remember what pallets were thrown as I use Any Means Necessary in most of my builds, so I know which ones were broken and which were picked up, which in turn makes it very easy to discern which are dream pallets. In the case of snares, I either push through them and take the M1, spin the Freddy, or avoid the snares entirely when the timing is beneficial. Plus, I prefer to be in the dream world as it is quieter and brighter😂 The other part of me thinks that this would be a bad change as he would most likely be considerably weaker. I also don’t really like playing against Freddy because of his Butter Knife fingers having insane reach.
Im not a fan of the change that you can no longer remove crows with flashlights. It was always so funny when someone tried to do it and I just smacked them in the face with the crow lmao
It was such a rare occurence (at least for solo queue) where teammates actually knew that you could do that. Made it that much more satisfying to be able to do lol
I always liked gameplay that you play in background while you're talking about something and i was curious how you make them. You like turn off the hud and put on 4 shadowborns ? cause it looks wonderful
IMO freddy is a F tier rework Sure bhvr did make him a LOT stronger but Freddy lost all of his identity once the rework came thru I wish they reverted the rework, he was my fav killer 😔
Clown Idea: make his yellow and purple bottles each hold 4-6 bottles, so that he can use yellow for traversal while having some pink for when he finds someone, makes it so much less annoying to play him
Huntress had a big change for her iri heads a while ago. Used to be able to bring another addon like leather loop to bring multiple, now it's capped at just 1. Good change because now good huntresses can't just steamroll survivors within the first 5 seconds of a match
On a similar note, Myers also had his tombstone add-on nerf, so that's two op iri add-ons that have been nerfed and were good changes to the killer overall.

For demo he used to not be able to break pallets with shred without an add on. It was later made basekit, really good change imo
I know I’m late to the party but the “just a little bit” comment during the monto clip for wraith is a really nice touch
As an antilooper: cope. Getting juked or attempting to juke is more fun that circling the environment
Demogorgon used to not be able to shred pallets
Hillbilly rework was so bad that he didn't even rank it
This didn’t age well
i love how when there is the ''scenes'' where there is no hud and stuff you put on shadowborn it just looks so sexy
On release in the PTB Pyramid Head could see where the cages were and they wouldn't change location whenever he was around the cage leading to huge facecamps.
and also he could cancel his power and instantly land a basic attack. good times...
@@ohyeah225 fr fr. I'm surprised these were forgotten about tbh!
Agreed
Broooo it’s been so long since I’ve watched FusionZGamer. Seeing that name in the credit for the footage hit me like a truck
Demo I think the biggest change is them letting the killer shred pallets base kit as that was an add on before
trueee i completely forgot abt that
I think one of the most notable changes to myers was hmthem giving him the bloodlust in T1. Which i think was a somewhat recent change but it helped him overall and made scratchmirror more viable as a serious build.
Maining doctor before his rework was crazy I have no idea how I did it looking back at it now
Demogorgon never used to be able to break pallets with his shred without an iridescent add-on. This was changed and the add-on was changed also.
I strongly agree on lightburn removal sucking. It feels so lame to against any of the killers when u have a flashlight knowing what could have been
Since 2020 I never knew this whole time you can hear the killer vault exclude the legion I was so focused on the red light to tell.
Iirc Hillbilly also had a much older rework/bug fix from when the game was pretty new. If you used the mouse and arrow keys he’d have a much greater turn speed (idk exactly how much), and with high DPI, he could flick pretty much 180 degrees at the end of the chainsaw, which let him score hits much easier
i remember when the dredge first came out and me and my friends went up against one and it went dark and we shit ourselves and didn’t know what to do
You missed the *MAJOR* nerf Huntress got some time ago to her Iri hatchets -- the add-ons that increase the number of hatchets that she can carry no longer affect Iri hatchets, so now she can *ONLY* ever throw just one Iri hatchet before needing to reload at a locker.
Yeah. At most give hive her 2 iri hatchets imoa
@@TeemoQuinton as someone who plays huntress, 1 iri hatchet is more than enough for a chase
When demo first released his shred didnt break pallets, they added that shortly after. Just like Blight. Both needed it badly
Pyramid head needs more attack range on his basic change my mind
9:00 When Hag was released for a few weeks you couldn't even crouch to avoid her traps
Yeah but im pretty sure she had less traps than she does now
Demogorgon from PTB to release had a good change. They enabled him to break pallets with his shred!
the trapper starting with all the traps is an addon and it completely changes the way trapper is played
Love this video idea! Can't wait to watch it when I get home. Keep going strong Kyto 💪 ❤️
I started playing in 2020 and looking at old clip make me wonder how much the look changed its like every year it gets more refined and clean.
Freddy was definitely was a definitely "literally, why?" from me.
you liked his release version better? :0 that’s a hot take
@Kyto There's a large portion of players who do.
10:25 @ kyto
biggest change was to nerf huntress addons.
Demogorgons add-ons weren't just buffed, they were completely reworked and I think it's better so I recommend looking at that
Demo main agrees. I find it amusing that everyone whines so much about the oppressive 3 gen meta, but very few people seem to know that demo can run whistle + upside down resin and lock down up to 6 gens permanently, even with no supporting perks. It's been busted for a while now and that's just one example of demo's addon range being too strong.
i still want Legion to swap with its members to confuse survivors on who is chasing them. also Legion should be able to crouch like in the trailer since when they were introduced, they were supposed to be a stealth killer that confuses survivors because Legion looks like a survivor.
myers in my opinion deserves good change for multiple reasons
#1 he could stalk multiple people at once causing him to tier up extremely quickly
#2 the survivor being stalked would hear a piano and violin when he was about to reach tier 2
#3 so soooooooo many of his add ons slowed him down that in tier 1 it felt unplayable
this make myers overpavered
Demogorgons shred needs a slight rework with its pallet interactions on a semi-charge.
As much as I like watching people rate things, I was actually very interested to learn what different killers were like on there release
That kind of ended abruptly talking about the Hillbilly lol
I vividly remember release legion, that was so annoying to go against, you basically abused chase mechanics to get a down with zero counter-play.
the reason trapper doesn't start with all his traps is that trapper mains will find playstyles to completely zone out survivors with his traps. a much better way to buff him is to make him craft his traps. It still slows him down but he doesn't need to go to dead places to pick them up. To boost him even more I would give him a speed buff when a trap gets triggerd or disarmed
or just let him carry as many as he wants so he doesn't have to go back and forth to make his traps actually somewhat useful
We've been waiting for the twins rework for half a year now
Mo Trickster is a really cool killer. Always funny to play and mostly 4ks
In the ptb demo could not shred pallets and instead needed an ultra rare addon. In live release they made it base kit
This is a really good idea to make a video of kyto. Nice ❤
I cant believe he forgot about the huntress eerie head change
I think The Trickster is funny to play as. Its so satisfying to hit his knifes and get a free hit.
😊
huntress
Demo used to be able to not shred pallets without the old red moss
Base Legion had to hit 5 times for a down Here's a list of other things that was bad about release Legion:
- They were 110%.
Just because it'd a unique mechanic doesn't make it a good/fair/fun mechanic.
the dredge : they need to change his animation when he runs cuz he looks so damn fast when does it
Demo got a huge change after the ptb thought. He wasnt able to shred pallets by himself he needed an addon to be able to break pallets with hid power. Its a mechanic that most if not all demo players use.
Demogorgon couldn't shred pallets at the time without an iridescent add-on 😨
As a slinger main I actually agree with you’re opinion
You and me have different ideas for what the biggest change to pyramid head was. I miss the cake.
Plus, I prefer to be in the dream world as it is quieter and brighter😂
The other part of me thinks that this would be a bad change as he would most likely be considerably weaker.
Nobody asked
I always liked gameplay that you play in background while you're talking about something and i was curious how you make them. You like turn off the hud and put on 4 shadowborns ? cause it looks wonderful
Still waiting on them fixing the constant chains when you're trying to solve the box
Hey man, have you tried. Sprit fury, hubris, and that one perk that Lowe’s pallet stun duration
I wouldn't call the Nurse "rework" a rework. They just switched some numbers :/
Her whole Base Power needs a rework/change.
5:20 he couldn't shred pallets and it was added because there was soo many requests about it by the community
IMO freddy is a F tier rework
Sure bhvr did make him a LOT stronger but Freddy lost all of his identity once the rework came thru
I wish they reverted the rework, he was my fav killer 😔
Freddy was my favourite his mins game potential was so good before this stupid rework
Clown Idea: make his yellow and purple bottles each hold 4-6 bottles, so that he can use yellow for traversal while having some pink for when he finds someone, makes it so much less annoying to play him
Am i the only one who never knew they got rid of removing hags traps with flashlights i literally thought it was an addon
@@geaechtete_Waschbaer oh yeah I forgot about that one aswell, that's a good one
Why did it end so suddenly
