yessss I love Dimension 20. I'm about halfway done with A Crown of Candy and it's sooo good. I started watching because a friend I'm doing a D&D campaign with now gave me his login for Dropout to watch it lol. So happy you're enjoying it! The cast is awesome.
Hey Kevvie! I love d&d and this sounds great. I tried to listen to the d&d campaign podcast Adventure Zone which is insanely popular but couldn’t get into it. This sounds great! Thanks for sharing and glad to see you!
the title scared me bc i interpreted it as "i've become uninterested in [reading about] D20" LOLOL excellent vid and i too am thankful for the energy Dropout creates in this space
Have you found Worlds Beyond Number yet? It’s a podcast with Brennan, Aabria, Lou, and Erica. If you love D20, this will make you wet your pants. The Patreon is 100% worth it if only for the Children’s adventure, which is required listening before you start the main podcast.
"it's if harry potter wasn't written by a bigot" is such an apt description of that campaign! 😄as a fellow lover of d20, i would love to see more videos about them! (or the other dropout shows!)
I've stopped reading too and just got into D20 after Dungeons and Drag Queens then Mentopolis. Is NeverAfter really a horror? If so how scary, I usually hate horror movies. But I'd love to watch it. What do you think? I just watched Crown of Candy and Ravening War and loved it. Also Misfits & Magic was amazing! I'm just working my way through it slowly. That's all I've watched so far
Neverafter definitely has scary moments, mostly eldritch horror and body horror stuff, and ofc the way they twist the fairytales. But since it features the Intrepid Heroes there's still a good amount of comedy in there.
Personally, Neverafter had some moments of traditional horror (which are always time stamped so you can skip!), but interestingly enough it felt more like existential horror. There’s a lot of super fun themes and moments in it and the characters are fantastic in this one, especially Lou and Emily who play Pinocchio and Ylfa (Little Red Riding Hood). I think for me, the horror and sadness aspect really came out more in the form of “ah this is what living is, and living sometimes means we can’t control everything.” Highly, highly recommend. If you’re into DND then you’ll enjoy some really awesome combats, otherwise you’ll enjoy a super interesting story and a bunch of wild characters. Honestly there are more funny moments than scary or sad in this particular season. Definitely check out a Court of Fey and Flowers if you loved Misfits and Magic - Aabria’s DM’ing style is just so fucking amazing and character based and the season feels insane but in the best way. It’s basically Bridgerton/Pride and Prejudice but with fairies and I cannot recommend it enough, it’s one of my comfort shows at this point.
Dimension20, and by extension much of what Dropout does in general, feel like a breath of fresh air in contemporary media! I really love these shows
I agree! Dropout is doing what nobody else does and it’s so refreshing!!

It’s a very unique style and different which makes it even more interesting and worth watching. The concept is really good and I looooove dark tales

I’m not a horror fan either and I was fine. The cast is hilarious, and they can’t help but make it really fun.

Thanks all! @artforbagels5039 @danilynn9904 @ccx7968
I would say it’s not full on horror, more playing with common horror tropes and themes.
