      It has absolutely blown my expectations out of the water. I had a 4-5 year old tcl 49s405 before this, and the s546 is a significant upgrade. I was a bit sceptical that this TV would actually be a noticable upgrade, but it has been awesome so far

      @@RTINGSdotcom For those who do not mind totally inaccurate colors it's fine. Mine could not be calibrated, totally red and pink out of the box---my friend had the same experience, even when we tried to adjust we simply could not. I would NOT give this TV a recommendation as a budget pick. I packed mine up and took it back to the store, and my friend did as well. U6G and Vizio M7 are better TVs with color accuracy which is HUGE dealbreaker in my view, plus the interface on this TCL s546 is horrible--1 minute to bootup, sometimes it did not bootup at all, and scrolling through the menus was sluggish. Someone mentioned a firmware update below, did not do anything for my set which was all up to date.

  • @mangakey
    @mangakey Год назад +2

    I disagree that the S535 (2020 model) "trades blows" with this model... As SDR brightness increased by 100% with this model over the S535 and HDR brightness increases by around 20%... That is a massive improvement... In my book the S535 is too dim of a TV to offer "real HDR experience".....
    And this model just barely makes the cut... Though the (2022) S555 is better even better than this model in terms of brightness not but much only maybe another 10% but enough to make a difference... Both vastly outclass the S535 in brightness tho...

    So far I think this TV is phenomenal, especially for the price. I picked up the 50” today, and so far any of my complaints seem mostly about LCD technology in general and aren’t really the fault of this TV (motion blur, viewing angles, etc). You really do need to be kind of directly opposite this TV to get the best out of it, which I’m kind of surprised about. We should have our TV on a wall mount soon, so that should let us see it from any side of the room. I got it for $370 at Best Buy. Time will tell if I have any kind of bugs or hiccups, but if I do, I’ve read that turning off a few things on the system level should help.

    This TV does not support 'game' picture mode for PC--consoles only. I am wondering how much this will affect the performance if used as a PC gaming display? Will features like VRR snd low latency also not be available when connected to a PC, as those also rely on the proper functioning of 'game mode'? Could the reviewer please comment on performance/potential drawbacks re using this TV for PC gaming?

    So disappointed with this tv, that I returned it. The picture out of the box was horrendous. I used some settings found online to calibrate, improved picture but never great. Hisense U6, IMHO and as review states, is definitely a much, much better tv, especially since they are priced the same. It has 4 HDMI, better sound (IMHO) and the remote is better, on top a better picture out of the box. So happy I returned TCL for Hisense.
