Love the videos... also just some friendly advice. By all means use the vehicles own air suspension to raise the vehicle up, but don’t go putting your head in the wheel arch without a jack stand or at least the lift holding the vehicle up as well. If the pressure in the air suspension were to suddenly drop or blow out... you would be without a head! Stay safe man.
Good evening all! A long shot here and i apologies for adding a boring comment to an epic video! I recently purchased a 2004 Touareg 2.5TDI. After 1 week of ownership I added 700 miles to the clock. The ride is perfect and i'm in love with the car. I faced some problems a couple of days ago however and i wanted to run them by you to see if anyone could help advise before i head to a garage. I had a few start up issues which almost sounded like a flat battery. However after a couple of tries it fired up with no issues. The next problem i noticed was flickering headlights and after that a warning light on the dash reading 'STOP fault running gear.' The car is sitting in its 'normal' position and is level on the front and rear. Because of this i don't think its a leak as the car isn't 'sagging' over night at all. With this message on the dash i am unable to access the dashboard menu. I am also unable to use the air suspension nor the built in air compressor for the tires.. If anyone has any potential answers or solutions please advise. Id appreciate your help big time!

Yes the Exhaust fits fine, sometimes you might need to put spacers under the mounts. The Prop Shaft (Carden Shaft) is fine too but you can space the centre support beam down if you feel better like that.
Hi!!! Great job from Spain!!! I planing to do the same to a V6 with air suspension and two lockers also, but I have a question, didn't give you a problem to increase the angle of the drive axle between the gearbox and differentials?

I'm curious if you disconnected your sway bars on your lift? As I had mentioned I've been watching your build for my 2004 v8 treg for inspiration, however, at the moment my rigs rear diff had locked up so I'm getting that fixed. Also did you drop your sub frame for the lift? I'd love to see you create a bullbar that would connect to your sub frame with tow hooks welded on
So do you think 🤔 that with a lift can you sneak 35" tall tires. Also nice work on the bracket. I just got a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg 4.2 that has air ride and a rear diff locker. I am planning a lift and turn it into a 4wheel drive here in the states.
I’ve always wanted to see someone lift the front more than the back on a touareg. Would help preserve ride quality by minimizing the lift, still give you a great approach angle and would give it a sick stance. I want 40 mm in the back and 50 mm in the front on mine. Wonder if anyone would make them for me 👀
@@DarksideDevelopments how about under body cross bar to hold the transfer box need lift too? Thanks, mine is 2008 4.2 fsi v8 with lifted coil spring suspension.
i don´t quite understand, by spacing the front and rear subframe, you´re not really increasing the ground clearance are you? you´re just lifting the body higher
As noted, the larger tires will increase the minimum ground clearance. But additionally, the body lift will improve approach, departure and breakover angles. You drive your tire over obstacles you can't straddle. You can't do that if your bumper hits the obstacle.
I had the front strut extensions snap on my 2009 Touareg. Made by a different company, and from my experience, I don't think yours are strong enough either. That design has been copied time and time again.

What about the end of the steering arm?
Doesn't that need to sit up 1" higher too?
Or maybe bumpsteer isn't an issue on these.
The whole subframe is down so just the UJ moved down, bump steer is fine and you can just get the camber in check
