so frustrated with how Caulkins handled the breaches. Video needs more than a small splash text imo. We can't keep excusing poor arena construction :/

yeah I hard agree, I love team Skorpios but its been really disappointing to me that Zach is encouraging people to go see the heavyweight fights with no real warning when they're legitimately so dangerous. Poor lipo fire protocols, Bunny getting hit by UHMW falling out of the box, breaches multiple years in a row, fire near the edges of the box.
I understand not wanting to speak ill of an event you love but as it stands the heavyweights are gonna get shut down due to someone getting seriously hurt (last year was a near miss) and I think we owe it to ourselves as a community to raise the standards of this competition and make sure that doesn't happen.

24:18 this moment was pulled out straight from a cartoon! 😂
The random tire just rolling in and out, best shot ever.

Hi Zach and Diane, I love watching your videos. 4 years ago, when I first meet my now husband 😍. He introduced me to battlebots and I've been Obsessed with robot fighting. This July 18th, 2024 will be our one year wedding👰‍♂️ anniversary and I want to spend it in Vegas watching BattleBots live. My question is 🤞 will you two be there that day. I would love to meet you two in person. Thanks, Ashley

lol I kept joking that I showed up to Robogames with nothing battery powered. One solar powered, and one candle powered.

Nice Dan! That's an awesome example of a nitinol difference generator!
How to the muscle wire bots regulate the amount of power they drive into the wires?

Eva, my amazing competitor with the 3 medals (4 after she took muscle wire 2nd place), used a more common construction. There are hair-thin nitinol wires running to the legs, and when current is passed through them, they heat up. The expansion and contraction of multiple wires in sequence can be used to move legs. Eva had a simple and clever control though, with a wire umbilical that ran to a couple contacts for a 9V battery. By closing and opening the contacts, you can move different wires.
I have had new ideas since talking with her, and am excited to take another go at it!

@@dan.c interesting. I'm trying to do nitinol stuff at a 3lb level and the best ideas I've come up with so far are thermocouples and an esp32..
