    really happy you posted this. I tried this processing in APP but it left the star trails. I will try this masking method you've shared.

    Thanks Aaron!! Great video The light pollution removal tip was great, I've been using avg blur subtraction (think from your recommendation previously)... targeting the specific color is much better. I use screen blending mode for bringing the stars back in, instead of your masking method It's always interesting to me how many ways there are to get things done Great image!

    Very interesting video Aaron, but a few questions. If you do the comet stacking in DSS than shouldn't you mark where the comet is on all your light frames ?
    Another question, you did comet only stacking, so how come there are no star streaks visual in the stacked image ?

      Hi Seigfried, with this method since your masking two copies together it’s really not necessary. I did both ways off camera and the comet looked the same. Comet mode ignores the stars and star mode ignores the comet. Clear skies!

    followed your steps but the Comet tab is greyed out? why?
