    Orange as a brand gets some serious hate ... im on my 3rd .. (crush,five,alpine) .. i think it rides great but i think the way theyre put together is a very marmite thing ... you ever love it or you dont like it but i also guarantee a lot of haters have never ever ridden one ..... 🤔

      I love my 2016 Orange five. Its a fantastic ride and it a little differnt from the norm plus is UK built. I cant undertand the haters and am sure if it had made in Germany stamped all over it they would all think it was great !

    Orange bikes are very expensive but if you buy at the end of the season you can some massive savings. I saved about £2000 on my Factory spec Orange Four by waiting for a stock clearance.

    Great review. So now you think a XXL would have better fit you at 6'1? I'm 6'3 and ride XL. Makes me rethink all bikes sizes.

    Came close to buying a Five last week, but couldn't justify the price. Settled for a Canyon Spectral 😊

    I fear that Orange bikes are only ridden by middle aged blokes and unless they sort their branding and more importantly, their prices then the people who buy their bikes will get too old to ride and Orange will lose all their sales.

    I'd ask if there's still a place for carbon bikes when manufacturers surrendered and started making them equal weight to get some reliability from the frames and lessen a horrific possibility of a brand new carbon bike lasting less than a first ride due to 1 minor crash. I can have a carbon fork on a trekking bike and that's the only part I would ever have made of carbon.

      Aluminum for the win

    • @piciu256
      @piciu256 5 лет назад

      Actually, when the carbon now weighs as much as aluminium- imo it makes more sense to buy carbon, if you have the money. These days there is not much improvement left to be made in terms of geometry and stuff, so a carbon bike is a better bet for lasting, at the same weight, carbon is substantially stronger than aluminium and has much better longevity (a light alloy bike is pretty much toast after 1-2 years of abuse- the material just cannot handle it and breaks)
      Add to that you cannot really weld a broken alloy frame, and carbon in reality can be very easily fixed and you have a winning combination.

    • @th_js
      @th_js 5 лет назад

      @@piciu256 But carbon can get easily damaged from hits to the material and you won't notice the damage until the frame snaps....

    • @piciu256
      @piciu256 5 лет назад

      @@th_js that is not true, carbon is stronger to initial damage than aluminium, it's just that when you pass the point of damage with alu- it will just bend most of the time with no harm to function (and to some extent can be bent back) but when carbon breaks, well- it breaks ;) No bending here. Cracked frame is easily visible (and heard- crackling noise with force applied), internally damaged handlebar mayby not so much.

      Piotr Sulej Carbon isn't stronger than Aluminium against rock strikes ....I've seen loads of Modern Carbon Enduro bikes getting frame damage from rock strikes and crash damage

    These bikes make no sense unless you specifically want a bike from this brand for whatever reason... Linkage activated single pivot is better than this in every possible way, and there are so many great bikes out there these days, even for cheap...

    Water bottle under the down tube.... really 🙈🙈🤪 what a load of wank, seriously you can buy twice the bike for half the price from Vitus YT canyon and they won't have inbuilt brake jack

    Over priced boat anker built on a bench by polish immigrants. One thing you won't get with an orange is a back wheel that lines up with the front.
