    These are really awesome. Your creation ideas and executions never cease to amaze me.

    Nicely done! I really love the Trident- water is really underrated IMO.

    Would you be able to make a javelin that uses practically no energy, deals next to no damage, and when it lands, fires a thorn directly up, with rapid fire, to make essentially a ricocheting minigun javelin

      These Javelins use no energy. The thing you want is definitely possible. Next episode I might have something you will like. Stay tuned...

    why not make a combo spear javelin? Right click spear, left click javelin?
    Throwing spears would be cool.

      It doesn't work. Other wise I would have made one already lol

      What about mimicking Warframe's gunspears ? Could you make them shoot a projectile with the main fire and be thrown as a secondary ?

    • @Intrafacial86
      @Intrafacial86 6 лет назад

      Heck, is there a way to just cheat things a bit to make it _look_ like you threw the spear? Make the special attack shoot a projectile that looks like the spear and give it an effect that 1) disables both the primary and special attacks and 2) makes the held weapon invisible. The cooldowns would be equal to the amount of time the projectile lasts.

      No, there is no way to disable attacking while the weapon is out. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works. You would think the spears in the game would come standard with a "throw" ability.

      How about a one handed spear to use in conjunction with the javelin?

    I LOVE THESE SPEARS!

    Im going to have to dissect these and see if I can implement some of these effects :D

    Hey TC, try making a Floran hunting javelin. Player carries a sack with javelins on his back, holds one in hands, and uses it as a spear. Alt is throwing it as a javelin and picking another from the sack.

    Can I suggest an artifact that, when it is charged, emits a temporary wave around you and cullasegumda action fired a thick beam of blue light?
    Inspired the Eliacube of the French television series Wakfu
    PS: I do not handle English well, so I used the google translator, sorry for the grammar
    PPS:I love these weapons TOO

    Is there a way to let custom weapons appear in the game on its own? Would be funny to find a tribe with spears like that ;D

    Is it possible to change the effective range of a melee attack within the code? For instance I want a swing of my broadsword to reach 5 times further with a bigger SWOOSH graphical effect. Is this even doable? Kind of like how Kratos' from God of War has his chaos blades that can reach a lot further.

    • @ThatThunderCookie
      @ThatThunderCookie  6 лет назад

      Yeah, that would be fairly simple to do.

    • @madshader
      @madshader 6 лет назад

      Oh please teach me! lol. I'm having a hard time finding any reliable and up to date resource on the parameters for all the weapon types. Is it possible to scale the Woosh graphic as well? Have you heard of the game "Strider"? I was wanting to make weapons that attack in much the same way. Could you point me in the right direction perhaps or maybe make a video series teaching some of your methods and steps to arriving at a weapon? And do you have a resource or list of all the commands/parameters in a nice neat library? :D Btw, loving your videos, I've been watching them all on autoplay. I think you are the only person I have found so far that actually dives deep into this topic and shares it with the public. :)

      HELLO? lol.

    • @ThatThunderCookie
      @ThatThunderCookie  6 лет назад

      I don't have much time to make videos these days, especially not the ones that would be required to teach people how to make custom weapons. There are so many parameters and so many things you can do with them, it's something that would take 10-15 videos to explain most of it.
      I don't have a list of parameters but you can easily unpack the assets and look at the weapons you want to change and adjust the parameters already there. You can also learn a lot by dissecting custom weapons others have made. That's how I learned.

      Ok so would you use Hokucide to kind of do what I was talking about? Or would you suggest using a ranged weapon instead?

    i love all of them i was super exited just because they were throwing spears so the first one made a impact the second one was beautifully unique. i will say however there are a number of things that don't seem quite right with them to me. the toxic one's affect isn't that unique i would think maybe toxic clouds shooting off and doing the debuff would maybe make more sence? maybe low range spread thorn projectiles with toxic. they seem like they may be a bit strong even for tier 6. the healing affect seems really really strong although the spear itself maybe not quite as much. and ide like to suggest you call the rubium spear either aviolite (the crystal only found on avian planets) or solarium as it seems to be the same color as the solarium staff and rubium is not in the game anymore... of course that would also imply its a higher tier then the others and if anything it seems a bit weak in comparesen to me. the purple one dose a ton of damage and seems to apply that damage repeatedly and seems kind of downright op..... P.S. i do sincerly absolutely *LOVE* these weapons you made but i felt some critiques could be helpfull sorry if i offended you or was too wordy.../had bad grammer

    • @ThatThunderCookie
      @ThatThunderCookie  6 лет назад

      The violium spear has a longer thrown time compared to the rubium. Meaning you can use the rubium one again sooner. The rubium also has a better return effect giving the player Nova, compared to the low grav the violium one. The Violium one was designed to have a strong ability because it's other stats and effects are not as good. The rubium one is more balanced.

    • @skybladebloodheart4247
      @skybladebloodheart4247 6 лет назад

      ThatThunderCookie thanks for the reply im just gonna say low grav isn't that bad and that purple spear did 120 damage 4 times in 1 throw apon further inspection everything else looks fair balanced and well made

    • @ThatThunderCookie
      @ThatThunderCookie  6 лет назад

      The spears can hit multiple times if they are at a weird angle in the ground. It's not something that can be changed and is a part of starbounds physics engine. The rubium one can do the same thing only with DoT from fire as well. They aren't perfectly balanced but the violium one has to hit harder since it doesn't apply any Damaging status effects and takes longer to return.

      oh so it should have only done 240 over a much longer duration instead that makes allot mroe sence yeah i saw that at one point one hit more then once i get it then thats fine if its just a bug. i would like to make sure you know i do really really like and appreciate the content you create.
