      3) were 100% convinced that Poilievre could solve the housing crisis BUT not one that knew that Poilievre has made millions in real estate speculation

@@mikeb2586 exactly! That's a problem. These people aren't willing or interested in doing any research to take them away from their ignorant support of PP and the Cons. And I'm sorry to say, but to support Pierre and the Cons, they have to be ignorant on some level. They have to avoid research, avoid red flags, avoid facts and logic and just run on pure Trudeau hate, which is, of course, driven by Pierre and his Con-artist team, to the point that hate clouds judgment. I guess these people just have to learn the hard way.
Which begs the question: What about everybody else? What about people who aren't sold on Conservatives, aren't sold on Liberals and are oriented much more around progressive thought, evidence-based logic and respectable moral standards? These people not only can be reached politically, but should be out there in every community to unite with others and actually build a movement. Build a movement out of this capitalist mess we've been born into.
Cooperation over ruthless profit maximization. People over profit. Beyond capitalism.
I might suggest people watch Zeitgeist: Requiem by Peter Joseph and if compelled to do so, organize a watch party in your community, maybe at a University or just a public theatre. Then take that train of logic to community co-op network building, look at platforms available to do that like One Small Town Contributionism.

Poilievre hasn't had a real job his entire life. He worked for the Reform/Conservative party after graduating from university then was voted into office. He's been an MP for 19 years. Back of the napkin math shows he's made about $3 million before taxes. He got the gold plated MP pension when he was 30 years old. Remember that if you're considering voting for him because you think he understands what it's like to be regular person.

Since the pandemic we have been inundated with misinformation and fear from the right and poor defense or messaging strategy from the left. If nothing else it is time for a leadership change for the Liberals, young voters have not seen what conservative governments do. I have voted mostly conservative for most of my life and in my opinion now is not the time for Pierre Poilievre and his mini maga party to be in charge. We need change that keeps us moving forward. Sold my house, paid off the mortgage and because I had to sell it quickly , took a loss on it. Yeah, no way I'm even entertaining the thought of voting conservative. Chrétien was elected because people were fed up with Mulroney. Mulroney was elected because people with fed up with Trudeau (father). Trudeau is and has always been an empty suit. Hating him (or loving him) is like having strong feelings about tapioca pudding. The only way for anyone to reach a point where they despise such a bland nonentity is by projecting their fears and insecurities on to him. And that requires massive amounts of propaganda. Much like climate denial or QAnon or the satanic panic, it is a manufactured phantasm, designed to stoke the fears of authoritarian minds and turn them against the most vulnerable people in society. We've all seen this movie before and yet we still keep on repeating the same patterns. The human brain was never designed to contend with this kind of situation, and it shows.

Trudeau promoted health care recommendations and supported working from home during the pandemic, while Poilievre and provincial premiers were getting cozy with anti-vax crazies.
Trudeau has lowered taxes on small businesses and raised taxes on the rich.
His government has helped get safe water for most of the reserves that had struggled for years with unsafe water.
Cannabis is legal and society hasn't collapsed.
Everything that's wrong with affordable housing and health care and education right now can be traced to right-wing "privatize it all" provincial premiers. Danielle Smith is actually trying to stop the federal government from helping communities with housing and infrastructure.

Why is housing so unaffordable? Well, it must be all those insidious foreigners moving here, stealing YOUR opportunities. It couldn't possibly be because the housing market is carefully managed to always appreciate in value faster than inflation & wages so that it functions as a bomb-proof store of wealth for the rich & powerful.
