We have not ever framed anything in our lives with the exception of the chicken coop we built at my moms house a couple months ago. Today is day one of framing our own house and diving head first into the world of construction. We add a new team member to the team and get to work by the end of this video you'll see some differences even though we hoped to have accomplished more...

It’s a Just Enough house. Which is a lot wiser and more reasonable than a Tiny House, really.
Trent & Allie, the build is looking great. I noticed while framing your first walls, (which look great). That when you nailed the top plate on you nailed in what is called the field. The open area between the studs. I highly recommend that when nailing the top plate, nail only over the studs. This will come in very handy later. Because when drilling holes through the top plates for plumbing and electrical, or anything else. You will not be hitting nails, causing your drill to rip out of your hand or dulling your drill bits or blades. Trust me you will be very happy. Old retired carpenter. Just a suggestion. Hope it helps.
It's a small home not a tiny home. Tiny homes are like 250sqft.
Have the excavator move the lumber closer to the home and put it in the order it will be needed. Never do what a machine can do for you. An hour paying for the machine operator will save may hours of lugging lumber.
When I grew up in the 50’s families were raised in “war time houses” 660 square feet. In 1949 my Dad put a basement in. Never meant to be permanent, but the house still stands and is lived in today.
Anyone ever root for people you don't know, but feel you know and just want them to win...no just me? I just love watching you 2. You 2 are some of the most genuine people I have seen here on YT.
Hagrid Adventures, I totally agree!! I recommend two other compelling couples who are friends of theirs (met through YT)--The Nomadic Movement and Eamon and Bec. All are genuine, big hearted and positive thinking people who love to laugh.. Trent & Allie traveled with Kaylee & Jordan from The Nomadic Movement for many months (see Don't Stop Belizen series on their site). Eamon & Bec are Canadians who they also met on their travels. Enjoy!
@@SisterOfTheFireflies181 Yes! I love Eamon and Bec also Kara and Nate!
@ Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check them out!
@ we all do, that’s why where here.
My wife and I lived on a boat for 7 years. You guys lived in a van for a long time. This 'little' home will be quite comfortable. The fun of building it, though, cannot be denied.
Technically, 1000 sq. ft. is not considered a "tiny" home. You could call it a small home but the bottom line is: if it's what you want and you're comfortable with it, then it's right for you. I think it will be GREAT!
Saw Horses might be a Great idea for when you are sawing each board so you don’t accidentally cut your leg or foot. Your small home 🏡 will be so nice.
Who the hell cares if its a "tiny house" or a whooping great monster house its yours and your building it yourselves from the ground up so go team Trent and Allie its looking awesome already
Right on! Important thing you can say you guys built it!
I even caught myself saying out loud the very same thing. It’s your home and you don’t have to answer to anyone else Trent and Allie. Glad to see that you have help as well so good luck with the build and never mind all the nay sayers 👍🏻🙏☮️❤️😄🙋🏻♀️🇨🇦
Precisely!
They asked for the comments on whether people thought it was a tiny or not.
Words have definitions. Tiny is defined as smaller than small and that house is just small.
Technically the definition of a "tiny house" is 499 SQF or less.😊 But maybe you could call it the "Little" House on the Mountain?😂
Or 2Tiny 😁
I like those suggestions!
I have checked into building a cabin in Colorado. Most counties require that you build at least 600sq' if you are going to live full time in the house. I have found one Colorado county that allowed 500sq' for full time living. That's pretty small. Obviously it's borderline tiny. Take care. Vaughn
Oh, that's a good one. In Ireland, we name homes. Its tradition. Ours is named Casper's Landing because we have a dwarf, pygmy goat as a house pet and I named him Casper. He's the BEST and totally house trained.
Most counties rushed to ban them so you have to pay tax on a bigger home.
Stoked you guys are bringing Brandon on. Not only will it help with your house in the winter, but it will help save your marriage!
It’s your home and call it whatever you want. Building it yourself is something to be proud of.
It is your little house and you are building it yourself. That is all that matters.
Doesn't matter if you call it tiny or not, just call it HOME.
Good one! :)
So true, wonder at what stage it will feel like home, moving in day, or maybe the first morning waking up inside?
It's like 3 tiny houses. But, it's yours and you can do what you want.
Small house but not a Tiny Home. Your Home is all that matters. 💛
Allie, it's the toolbelts!! Seems when men put on their tool belts and there's a lot of wood and nails involved, they get all giddy. Kind of like when women get together to bake 6 kinds of Christmas cookies. The butter, sugar, and flour come out, the aprons go on, and we get giddy, or is that after the 2nd round of hot buttered rums are prepared??🤔I'm glad you have some helping hands and everyone's happy!! I'm so excited to follow along as you build your cabin!😁
The guys working on our house were so astounded and grateful when I pulled up daily with a hot meal once a week. 😊. Nothing super fancy just like a pot of spaghetti and salad.. I heated bricks in the oven and put them in the bottom of our cooler laid a towel then my pot of food, paper plates and forks. Different cooler with water and salad and dressings. Just an idea for a thank you for them.
NOT DAILY 😱. Lol on Fridays only.
Living Life What a thoughtful thing to do! Daily would have been a bit much ;0). Good way to make sure your house is built with, if not love, good vibes!
Same thing we did 5 years ago when we had a contractor renovate our basement. My wife would cook enough for an extra serving for him for lunch, along with soft beverages. We tend to do this whenever we hire any help for extensive work on the house. Even though they're being paid to do a job, I appreciate the work and effort, and I think they appreciate the meal.
Trent brings the guy's beer's on occasion and from a construction workers point of view any type of kind gesture comes highly appreciated. Back in the day ive worked on thousands of construction jobs and can easily recall all the times when someone gave us fruit or brought us a meal or a beer, tea or a glass of ice water. Trent and Allie are awesome.
Kevin is a cool inspiration and builds confidence in others.
Tiny or not it’s a small house. No worries on terms, small, cosy and what you want. What could be better?
Great to see the progress!! As a builder of 25+years I get a tickle watching you guys learn. Keep up the good work, and smart to bring on help.
It's a "small" house, not a tiny home - but who cares? It's what YOU want.
EXACTLY!!! I so enjoy cozy and that can happen even in massive spaces. It's all about one's ability to create.
Stephanie Jo Rountree depends on perspective, from my perspective it’s a tiny house, I live in a small house and it’s bigger than theirs so theirs is a tiny house
@@autumn5852 I get that, but according to the industry 400 SF is the max in defining a tiny house.
@@StephanieJoRountree 👍🏾
I live in a 1950's 3 bedroom (each one very small), one bathroom bungalow, just like the one my 7 person family grew up in during the 1960's. Barely 1000 sq.ft. It's a small house:)
Gloves Allie, when moving wood, wear gloves! You do not want to deal with the nasty slivers of wood in your hand without them. Safety first! :)
Tell Trent that nail guns are affectionately known as “widow makers” in the insurance industry ‘cuz of them jamming and then going off in the face of the user who’s trying to figure out what’s wrong.
YIKES!!!! Can’t imagine Ally being left with that recorded on tape as well as burned into her brain. Terrible, PLZ be careful guys!!!!!
My friend died like that. Shot right through his head. Please be careful...
I was on a job and as soon as I put air to the heavy gun it actuated. No one was hit.
The nail gun should be treated with ultimate respect "loaded or unloaded" the the same as a pistol.
you know you are a old school builder when you use a pencil and the wall for math issues instead of your latest iphone
So true, my Dad was a builder for many years as I was growing up!
@@sconan01 Mine too! When he was young, he could build an entire house without using one power tool. He built every house we lived in, with a matching playhouse in the yard. Almost every board had those math equations on them.
It’s so exciting to see you both with friends smiling and sharing your adventure. You must be the kind of good friends your neighbours are waiting for. Well done guys👌🏼👌🏼
Trent and Allies," Home sweet home" is all that matters. I think the size is perfect!
Your UTube channel makes putting up with the pandemic a little more tolerable
Yes, technically a “tiny house” is less than 400sft, but you knew that. Allie, I’ve lived in a 900sft house for 30+ years & raised both daughters in it. It’s a good size! Actually, it’s a little big now that it’s just me; I quit using the upstairs, so I’m basically living in 500sft.
Its not the size of the house that matters. Its love that went into it that counts. Its the perfect amount of house 🏠 necessary to make memories, share the love with others. Its perfect 👌. Your being blessed each and every day. And the best part, your sharing it with the world 🌎. How awesome is that. Thank you.
your house will be such a warm loving home because it is being built with lots of love👍🥰💫💕
The house I grew up in had a lofted bedroom for the master. The one drawback of that was sound and noise. Couldn't run the dishwasher when dad was in bed, too loud. Couldn't play the piano when the phone rang. Good thing there is a basement, so there is an escape place. Hopefully you can put a French door on the sun room for separation from sounds.
Is a small house more of a bungalow then a tiny house tho.. who cares tho really congrats on being able to build what you want to.
I have been in the tiny home movement for many years (25).
If the building does not need a permit and is being used as a remote bedroom plus, I am calling it a micro home.
Van lifers live in micro homes.
Tiny homes are usually 150- 500 sq ft. I like the idea 100 sq ft per person minimum.
If you have 900 sq ft and are planning to have your first child there you will have 300 sq ft a person. Mini mansion!
Ok, why is nobody wearing Safety GOGGLES??? All those power tools, and no eye protection???😲
By definition, it is not a tiny house and the full basement brings the total square footage up to about 2000 square feet. I think this is a good size home for you or anyone. In addition, it doesn't really matter what size it is as we are still cheering you on and we will continue to enjoy watching. I can't wait to see the finished product as I know it will be lovely.
we used car jacks or hydralics to lift our lumber pile A life saver.
Kevin is a great guy his advice is invaluable and he keeps smiling !
It really doesn’t matter if you want to call this a tiny home or not! It is your home and that is what does matter!
I just about swallowed my tongue when Trent went over the edge...for a second until I remembered that it had been filled, thank goodness!!!!!!!
Kevin just quoted Harry Potter!!! I want to build a house with this dude!!!
Just a little FYI. Insulate where you won’t have access later, ie around your stairwell. “Chicken boxes”
To the tiny house police... this is tiny enough! I think they would call it a small house, but I think its the perfect size, especially up in the Mountains! Y'all are awesome! I so appreciate y'all sharing your journey. I have given up tv and its programming, for watching videos like this, and I have to say, I am much better for it, and its due to the positive, happy content created by amazing people like y'all ! ❤
No matter with others think -- It's YOUR tiny house. Can't wait to see the finished product!!!
That Tercel SR5 4x4 will absolutely make it up there in snow, with good tires. :-)
Yep put a set of chains in the back in case of emergency she will be good. Cheap on gas too!
It absolutely will! I never once put chains on my Tercel!
Laura Manning
Chain laws require chains even on four wheel drive on mountain passes. I lived in in the mountains of Colorado and I saw people chaining up four wheel drives when it got icy.
Make a clay cast of the T and A,date and frame with a picture of the finished home!
That's a great idea! Hopefully, it has not been covered up yet.
that would be awesome!!!
We did that around our flagpole
I bought a 700 sq ft house about 20 months ago for cash then invested in a basic remodel and could not be happier. I moved out of a 24 ft class C into 700 sq ft and it felt like a mansion! I still have many many empty cabinets and blank walls thanks to lingering minimalist living. I really have enjoyed your channel and can't wait for all the house build shenanigans.
Pamela and Terry are tiny homes. This is a “we have room for a baby” sized home. No pressure.
❤️ from Michigan
Evelyn Pickwick lol subtitle ( ;
My thoughts exactly!! I'm wondering (maybe hoping is a better word) that the unexpected extra help with building is because Allie can't over do it right now.... :)
Is somebody pregnant?
Terry E, not that we know of. ❤️
Is it over 700sf? I'm a Realtor and in my neck of the woods anything over 700sf is not tiny, it's a small home. Who cares anyway, it's going to be your Home. That's exciting.
Where will your four children sleep? :) And I am so glad you have help, I almost posted a comment last Friday, get help!
They'll sleep in the window blinds. Problem solved!🤣
Every time Trent says "winter is coming" I think this home build series should be called Game of Thones home building Saga!
Has anyone else noticed that Trent is starting to look a lot like Vincent Van Gogh?
Let's hope that Trents ear will stay safe though! :-D
Agreed he is looking more and more like Vincent Van Gogh but sounding more and more like the harbinger of doom.
@@zirie3200 Allie might pull it off if he doesn't wear his hard hat! :-) I have one ear longer than the other, because I forget to put on my hard hat. Fair enough from better-half's POV, she doesn't want to scrape me off the concrete.
😂😂😂
By oddly imposed definition, it might not be a _tiny house_ but here's a couple things to consider ----- 1. So what. 2. Don't let *anyone* tiny shame you!! 3. If you are interested in the tiny movement / philosophy, then "tiny" is equal to the exact amount of space you need without superfluous excess. It sounds like for you, that is roughly 1000 sf. Mazal Tov!
Did anybody besides me notice Trent pointing the nail blaster at his face to pretend to blow smoke from the tip? The single most Darwin Award winning moment on video I have ever witnessed.
yeah I did a rant on job safety in a comment above- I guess have seen too many stupid injuries that change someone's life forever to give this a pass. It's nice that most of their supporters are just "you're so awesome - good job" - why do I have to be the 'bummer' :(
b atterbury I shuddered to see him point it upwards and the thought came, what if he fell or shot by mistake. BIG TIME DISASTER
I really can't watch anymore. No ppe, high vis, toetector boots, hard hats but most of all too much messing about. This is a construction site not a kindergarten. Unsubscribed.
Have you thought of backup power - solar or a generator for when power outages leave you cold after a winter storm takes out hydro lines especially in the mountains?
I know several people who have whole house generators installed an.d all of them are very happy with it and would never live without one in their home Way safer than those portable ones that give you a pinch of power.
Then there are other people like me who lives in the mountains and just feeds the wood stove. Whole house generators are very expensive. I am not doing to spend eight thousand plus for something I may need. In twenty years I have only been without power for more than one day one time. I have been looking into a small unit to keep my well and refrigerator going. The rest is no big deal.
Had a house in TN...900 sq. feet...three bedrooms, kitchen, large bath, large living room, and small dining room with 'hallway' with countertop bar area. Back porch which was awesome...the views were heavenly, just like your set up. Hated to sell it, but married someone from another state. Love your plans...this will be a wonderful home for you. Prayers you finish enough before the heavy snow/colder temps.
1,000 living space, 1,000 basement. 400 square foot "sun room" -- that's 2400 square foot house. Jarring departure.
Sorry, but basements are not included in the square footage of homes. Square footage refers to finished living space and concrete boxes don't qualify. Even "finished" basements aren't included, just described as extra amenities.
Beruthiel45 still worthwhile to have basement.
Building with bricks (outer walls) in case of forest fires! I pray that you never have those in your area but maybe take precautions!
No Allie, it is not a tiny home, But it is a home being built by two people in love with the same goal in mind. It is not the size that matters, but the heart and pride that it contains! Love the progress and enthusiasm... Enjoy the journey, the end goal will be worth it!
Tiny home is on wheels for tax, building code and permit reasons. Otherwise, my rambler is an A-frame ski lodge on even days and an Adobe Hacienda on odd days
cold storage basement my @$$. Whats the windows for? If utilities are going down there, it will be heated.
Bee, intoxicated, haircut, fly-by are also buzz words
The buzz words comment seems a bit harsh. Especially if you’ve seen their videos over the past years
you should bring "Rusty" up with you, take the wheels off and the trailer is safe.
OK I think that is a brill idea!
But the snow level? Might defeat the purpose.
@@carolleenkelmann3829 They have plenty of lumber! Build a platform for it?
take rusty up there then tools and soon to be present SNOW-SHOVELS will be there better yet take TERRY there as well and then no more spent gas money and you will be at work faster and get to stay longer and best thing NEVER MISS MORING COFFEE AGAIN
Wow.... Really so great to see how it's coming... My first look at fall in the mountains... That was exciting... You have a group of great guys helping.. Looking forward to more...
..
My home is just a few over 1,000 square feet with NO storage. I don’t consider it a “tiny” home.
I'm so glad you added Brandon. Framing with three people is much easier.
Couldn't you use the excavator and some tow straps to restack the piles in the correct order that you need to use them in?
It’s bigger than the average house here in the UK. Most of our English houses must be tiny homes! So jealous 😀
I live in a tiny house. 164 square feet and no loft. But I like it. Compared to mine, your house is enormous - lol. Plus after living in your van and staying with other people for so long, you are gonna love it... Freedom at last!
I just love that you have a basement! Running water!!! Electricity, power tools and are flying through the walls then Putting in the floor! Flying!!!!😆😆😆😆👌👍
SO EXCITING! We’re so happy for you.
BTW: a tiny house is so last year. It’s a reasonably small home on a beautiful property; it’s YOUR DREAM HOME!
You and your team are rockin it Big time! It must be such a special feeling building your own house! Your subscribers are so proud of you guys!♥️🙏
I want to know what the athletic greens tastes like? Neither you guys nor Jordan and Kaylie mentioned that part. Suspicious lol!! 🤣
You can buy a similar drink in the Bolthouse Farms brand ($2) if you are into that type of thing.
Me Too Bolthouse doesn’t have a product with that many different things in it
It tastes amazing! I have been using it for years. Love it! My naturopath said it tested really high and wanted to carry it.
I grew up in a 4-story, brick home, with a storage/utility basement, main living with front and back porches, 4 bedrooms and two closed-in sleeping porches on upper level and 3 tiny rooms in the attic. HUGE. Except, we were an extended family - 12 people, plus more visiting family every summer or drop-ins who wer between jobs. We lived in D.C. It felt like a tiny house. Oh forgot, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms. It's all relative (as our house definitely was "relatives").
A lot of people living in Tiny Houses wish they had more space. So you can call it our little house..not tiny but you’re still living smart.
My prayers for you have been answered. Extra pairs of hands and experience. Whooooo. I can relax now. But, I won't stop praying for you guys. On your way to beat the snow. Yahooo. G-D Bless and Stay Safe.
I really thought you were going to build this house yourselves. You have quite a lot of help. You’re better off, it’s a load of work and you might get it buttoned up before the snow.
You guy’s scared me so bad with the falling part!!!!
Trent!!!!!
Your killing me
It could be a tiny home mansion?
My favorite part this week was Trent acting out the steps 😂
Mine was Trent "falling". Allie's edit of adding a dark pause afterward only amplified the moment...did he and didn't he fall? Whew!
Yes, lol
The porch alone qualifies as a tiny house but not the rest, what you’re doing is much better, can’t wait to see it finished...good job guys.
Hello Brandon… Welcome to the team!!!
👍😎👍
Who cares what size it is. Its your home. Your living it. Your doing a great job. Love ya❤
This was a fun episode! Your helpers are so fun and talented.
Small house, cut off 600' and you're closer to tiny home. Stay safe, keep warm, enjoy your journey.
I came into this series late. I saw some of the interior framing and sheetrock and then decided to go back and watch the rest. Seeing Brandon's first day and thinking "That is the single best decision they have made".
It doesn’t matter one lick what anyone thinks. This is YOUR house!
Right? So many tiny home police! ha ha It's so silly the semantics people obsess over.
Haha One lick
Bella Vita I should have put “one Salt lick” in honor of Utah, 😂
They asked for peoples opinions, that is the reason for all the replies.
Man, it’s too bad the second level wasn’t just made into a regular second floor. You put so much time, money, and specifications to buy land and build in the mountains. And with future Ninos, a loft vs a second floor is like night and day.
I would have made a second floor as a second floor. Unless eventually this is just going to be a summer home/ mountain retreat/ Air B&B rental property, and the family home to raise the family and animals on is going to be a Homestead/ farm property?
For sure a homesteading property gives you years and years of RUclips footage material. Shoot by the time your 2.5 children grow, you can be helping them with their first travel van/ bus build. (It did seem you enjoyed making your Mom’s property into a farm; I can see wanting your own permanent property, farm house, barns, maybe even a silo?
Good luck with all your projects and ideas. I’m sure they will all turn out great. Trent is incredibly handy. He enjoys doing work with his hands, is enthusiastic about the tasks, and does it with life- love attitude.
Best example I can think of is a chef in the kitchen.. If the chef cooks with love and good, happy energy, the food tastes better. The expression “made with love” definitely applies to tasks inside the kitchen and tasks in general, like this project. It’s a labor of love.
So, I do believe that this home will be built super strong! AND will be standing and used by future generations... can you imagine 40 yrs from now having children, grandchildren, maybe even great grandchildren will be running around in the mountains and enjoying the summer property retreat.
They can always build onto the house as needed.
It would only be ‘too bad’ if it were a house for yourself. They’ve been planning this for over a year, worked with an architect to put their plan onto paper and will have the home they want in the end. What the rest of us may want is moot - this house isn’t for us to live in.
Jnk Kmaill Most definitely. Also, I would use the basement as an entertainment area. Large screen with a projector, stand up popcorn maker in the corner. A customh made bar area into a corner, area with some personal made stools (tree h cut a-ways and an epoxy over them for protection). Nice big snuggle couches. Some sort of playing table ) . In general, a kick ass space to entertain on rainy days or in at night. Don’t “throw” this space away. Even into the future, if you decide to sell, having an entire entertainment area as part of the home, is a huge bonus... IE, insulate this area properly, do an actual ceiling with recessed lighting and an actual closed off ceiling (don’t just leave an open framed area with electrical and plumbing exposed for all to see). And yes this area can come last for your build as a project, but don’t get to the end, move furniture and knick/ knacks in and take 10 yrs to properly do the entertainment space. Might even think of putting in heated flooring for the basement (under some re-claimed wood flooring. If u can find and old barn or church tearing down their property, you can get some amazing pieces... esp maybe in an old church with cool looking door frames maybe even a stained glass piece of art work for the loft area... after the outside is dried in, take your time in the areas you can to make decisions you will be happy with for at least 10-15 yrs...
JE Anderson then again, they could be saying “loft”, we are all thinking tiny home, hunch over to go upstairs... But they could mean “loft” as in just a partial “loft” space towards the roof is going to have a 2nd floor access. Instead of having “attic”, they are using the “attic” as the second floor.
A tiny home is one where you have to be mindful of organization and thoughtful about what you acquire. I’d vote that this is a tiny home. Looking forward to seeing it finished!
Utah is one of the current hotspots in the nation for COVID=19; I love you guys and worry that you do not always wear masks...even friends can infect friends.
I agree it’s just no longer worth taking a risk anymore. Maybe because they are outside
When they’re in town and visiting shops they’re always wearing masks.
Is it weird I say goodbye to your grandparents when you drive out of their driveway??
I had that late-80s 4x4 Tercel. After my '91 Subaru Legacy, it's the car I miss most. You wouldn't wanna take it wheeling, but it was an *awesome* snow car! It might surprise you.
Small home not tiny home, but I'd rather have a small home. In tiny homes like studios your entire set of things end up smelling like the foods you cook.
Advice to the builders from a guy who's done a few homes. "Always build a house as if you are going to sell it". 3 bd. Rms. 2 bath. 2 reasons: 1. If your family grows, you already have the room. 2. If your family grows " too much" it's easy to sell. Luv your build guys.
I love small/tiny houses! You don't need a big house with empty rooms to be happy.
I've heard those little 80's 4WD Toyota Tercel wagons are pretty good in the snow...with the right tires.
When the truck was delivering the TGI's you should have had the forklift move the lumber close to the house.
Yep. I was hoping they would ask him to do that.

Now THISSSSS is where the progress really starts to be visible. Great job guys!!
Tiny, mini, small, doesn't matter it's going to be home!!!
Its not to terribly tiny. My apartment is 960 sq ft. Perfect for you two! I wish I had the extra storage, like your basement.
New house new baby!😄
Our home is 1148, 2bedrooms, 2bathrooms, livingroom, dining room, kitchen. It is wonderfullllllllll.
My apt is 1040 and it’s perfect! 2 big bedrooms, decent sized bathroom and kitchen/front room are decent size. I love it, it’s perfect for my big pupper, 2 kitties and myself! When I plop a manufactured home on a bit of land here in Montana, it’ll only be 1300ish sq ft, extra bedroom for friends! You guys will love it!
5:21 Tiny Home⁉️ No. More like a Small House 🏡❗️ Sure you said your bedroom will be a “loft” which is TinyHome-esque; but not 1K square feet & with a basement, + regular on-site home construction 🆚 off-site construction where it’s either towed there (Tiny Home on wheel) or re-constructed on-site after being built off-site -or- is a pre fabricated kit‼️ But Hey... that’s just me 🤷🏽♂️ 😉
Now that Sun Room is more like a Tiny House❗️😆
Who cares if its a "tiny house," its going to be YOUR house
a perfect house :) and they can grow from tiny to middle and big someday if they want to :) I think it is great they are building the house themselves :) so proud of them! :)
Ive had more than one 4x4 Tercel wagons and they are AWESOME in the snow! I've taken them places even big trucks can't make it! He should have no problem with a few sand bags in the back!
I had to laugh when Shawn said, “Is that your Toyota? That’s a sick little car” In 2009, I bought a 1985 Toyota Tercel for $600, I was the second owner, it was in mint condition. It had 230,000 miles when I bought it, when I sold it for 2,500 seven years later, I cried. It had 380,000 miles. My Tercel’s name was SuperAwesome. Best car ever. I regret to this day not driving it down here to Mexico. I know it would have made it. That car could go anywhere. Just as Shawn said, it’s a sick little car!!! ;)
Laura Manning I drove a 1985 Toyota Tercel all through high school and college. I never named mine, but I once got that thing to go over 100 mph. I hauled up to five friends all over the city.
Once I even locked the keys in the car before a job interview. Discovering this after the interview, I opened the trunk / hatch, which could be opened without a key by turning the knob, laid the back seats down, and crawled into the driver’s seat. Then I drove home. And I got the job. But I must have looked like an idiot crawling through the car in my best clothes.
That was a great car.
@@shch1673 Ha! That's great! One time, the gas light went on at the summit of Santiam Pass Oregon. All the tinytown gas stations were closed, so we coasted all the way to Sisters! It was magic :) I also climbed through the back a time, or two, to retreive my keys. i still have my origanal key to that car. laugh. it was my Angel car. 💖
My mom had an 85 or 86 Toyota Tercel 4WD hatchback. It was cream colored. She owned it from 85-92. She ran over me with it once....on Friday the 13th. It used to get accidentally knocked into 4WD....and to get it out we had to find a mud puddle....and we lived in the desert...! It ran fine until she got the required services at the dealer....Mom thinks the dealer did things to it to get her to trade it in on another vehicle. It had issues AFTER it had services at the dealer.
Back in 2004 I bought a new 4Runner after I moved to Denver. I've driven it every day since, and it still looks and runs like new. My best advice to anyone who is thinking about getting a 4Runner is: Get your favorite color with all the options because you will be driving it for decades.
I had a 1990 Toyota Tercel and the engine was in perfect condition. Had to have some body work due to rust. Honestly broke my heart when I hit a deer and ruined front end. Had to be towed away. :(
So what about getting roof and walls.on shop and parking Terry there for winter months? Help you live out there out of the weather.
