August 1976 I took the ferry from Grand Portage to Rock Harbor, a 9 hour trip. Hiked the length back to Windigo over 10 days, while crossing back and forth. Lost four toenails in the process (poor boots), but loved it just the same. Thanks for the video. Brings back memories!!

Isle O Royal and Hawaii are the only places in the world to find the Green Stone. The Green Stone is a very beautiful gem.

Beautiful trails with great views! I’m from southern Metro Detroit, and I went to the Upper Peninsula 2 years ago, but never got to Isle Royale. One of these times, I’m going to really take some time to enjoy the beauty of the island! Awesome video, and I’d love to support each other’s channels! 😀

Nice video. I presume you had less bugs in August than I did in June ;-)

My friends and I wanted to go without a tent, do you think that would be possible?

I am so sorry for the delay response. The time we went in July was so buggy that I would not recommend it. I mean it would be the worst sleep of your life. lol!

They have plenty of shelters on the island so you will be fine tentless if you go to the less used areas.

I used to sleep in the swamp on the ground as part of a job i had. No tent, Just a poncho to keep rain off. Critters be crawling but i never was bite up to bad by mosquitoes. Ticks though, that's another story. You ever have to pull a tick off the head of your penis every AM with pliers, given only a few mins to do it before work would begin. Buddy of mine had one crawl done his urethra. He had fun with that. Try not to move around much at night so not to roll over onto the snakes that would curl up next to you at night to keep warm. Spiders though, they have some freaky huge spiders down south that will fuck you up. So much nicer up here without those buggers, should not be a big deal not using a tent this far north.@@Minong_Manitou_Mishepeshu

We had a bit of a long break through the winter. We just finished hiking in New Hampshire and Maine. Will be posting that video soon. Unfortunately we lost the camera on the mountain, but, good news is that someone will be returning it to us soon. We also have a big trip in September! Stay tuned!
