    I would highly recommend anyone watching this video, to study for your Amateur Radio license. A USA General Class license will give you HF band privileges with limited operational bandwidth privileges.

    Those large tubes were probably used on the old 25" color TVs. 😮

    Can't wait till mine comes. I'm really not enjoying my 955. Definitely want to hear your thoughts on the new Stryker Mic though. I love my Palomar sl-41 and it seems the Stryker is similar or better.

      Which 955 do you have?

      @@ScottsRadiosV2. Not exactly sure which version of the V2 it is but I bought it shortly after it came out and then didn't want to swap out the original 6666 so it sat on the shelf until a couple weeks ago. The receive doesn't seem as good and it gets a lot of noise from the truck. Also when the NR is on often the audio is very low then randomly goes up to normal. So I just leave it off. Probably just got a dud but it's a couple years old now so it is what it is.

      @rkelly5803 The noise reduction feature will give mixed reviews.
      Some operators really enjoy it and others do not.
      Even the fancy expensive HF radios can sometimes bother those that do not like the DSP style noise reduction.
      I think many years of listening to the static sound has got us kind of partial to that and when you add the DSP feature it starts to change how that sounds to our ears.

    So how about it, Do you prefer the Washington or the 6666pro? I am about to order a new radio from ya here real soon and these are the two I'm on the fence about. Was thinking a 99N2 at first but I think the heater is better being separate incase something happens.

    Why is the SWR wobbling around?

    • @ScottsRadios
      @ScottsRadios  2 месяца назад

      What do you mean after the decimal point?
      You do realize it's 1.0 in whatever?
      Generally speaking we shouldn't be measuring SWR on peak anyway.
      Since AM and SSB levels are constantly changing (modulation) it doesn't give a continuous signal for the SWR detection circuit to read a proper level.
      It does the best it can and that's why you see it's slightly changed at the very last digit.
      The meter is actually a very good quality antenna analyzer as well.
      Although almost nobody would use it for that.
