    I have one of those hats 😅 I love! Neck flap the things we don’t think about while enjoying my garden. I just found your site, I enjoyed you👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

      Thank you. I found this hat when I went to Georgia for my son's wedding. Of course he wouldn't let me wear it during the outdoor reception :-)

      Usually a bigger difference if you don't use chicken manure, extra compost, worm castings which all contribute. I just got bone meal as something to help seedlings get a better start

    The bone meal will be more available next year and whatever is planted in that area will get the benefit of the bone meal then.

    • @Growyourheirlooms
      @Growyourheirlooms  4 года назад

      Maybe. it was put in last year. Not sure how much residual nitrogen will be left. I suspect there will be greater benefit from this year's compost

      @@Growyourheirlooms hmmm. I always have better results using bone meal on all of my root veggies. Never tried it with garlic. But my onions love it.

    When did you apply the Bone meal? At planting in the fall or in the spring?

    9 ounces is a big jump when you are in the 60 ounce range.

    • @Growyourheirlooms
      @Growyourheirlooms  2 года назад

      I suppose. But I weigh the time and cost against it and just don't see the benefit. But you're right. For some people it may be worth it

      @@GrowyourheirloomsI am picking up bone meal today. This is my initial seed run on this property so I do want it to be prosperous because the more garlic I can get the better as I'm seeding 5 new to me varieties. If your seed line is established though I can see how eliminating a step in the process may benefit some.
