    The soprano's rendering of this sublimely beautiful aria was so heartfelt that she might as well have been the Panagia herself addressing those who crucified her son!

      It is incredible to me that I am continually discovering, among Bach's hundreds of cantatas, astonishingly beautiful arias like this one that hardly anyone is familiar with.

      @@etruscie Bach's Cantatas are some of the most underrated pieces of music that exist.
      His Fugues are overemphasized, in my opinion. His Cantatas are the most incredible music that I can think of, perfectly coordinating and harmonizing *all* of the elements of music with perfection.
      Honestly, his cantatas, in my mind, are like music from Paradise that have somehow found their way to Earth.
