    Fun video 😁 Just so you know, there isn't a nutrient breakdown on stratum because it's compressed volcanic soil/ash. Because it's naturally occurring, they'd have to test every batch to get a breakdown, which companies are not trying to do, lol. It does have added bacteria as a soil conditioner. It's a really awesome substrate! The Bio Stratum is exactly the same stuff but much smaller. It's more of a powder. The smaller size allows for use in aquariums for baby shrimp to hide in. They are tiny. Thanks so much for taking the time to film and share your journey! It was a lot of fun 😊 Take care 🌺

    With stratum, I’ve been told to buy the regular kind (the one that you used). I’ve been rooting propagations and acclimating tissue culture in stratum and it’s been awesome. I have a 100% success rate with my tissue culture acclimations so far! Mostly Thai Constellations and other aroids.
    I consider stratum to be substrate gold! ❤

    I am so glad you made this video on Alocasia! My favorite plant variety by far. I have a drafty old house in eastern Colorado, but we just purchased a green house (4x8) for indoors after watching your video. Come spring we plan on purchasing a bunch of different Alocasia, either crom's or starters so this video was just what we needed.

      Thank you!! OoO that's so exciting! Are you going to wait for spring to start growing plants in your green house or get it started now??

    • @VollenWeiser
      @VollenWeiser Год назад

      @@planttherapii Couldn't wait lol It's been up and in use for a couple weeks now. We call it the hospital as we have a few plants that needed so extra attention also we got some starters in there like Pathos, Peace lily, Red Ivy and Aloe Vera, Aloe Vera, and more Aloe Vera hahaha (My wife uses it on her skin nightly and loves it). Going to see how well all that holds up over winter then go for the Alocasia crom's/starters next spring.

      @@planttherapii I have used it for corms and wetsticks. I grew a verrucosum in it too! I don’t plant in it as I prefer pon because it’s reusable (stratum can be quite messy and breaks down easily and is expensive) but I have many friends who use it and they grow all kinds of plants in it! Anthuriums, monsteras, philodendron, you name it! Stratum is in my plant drawer for my babies 🥰🥰 I try to use it sparingly 💚 Great video!!

    This is such a big help! Did you happen to try out the bio stratum? I got it by accident and wasn't sure if it would be too much fertilizer/nutrients released from the bio one, did it end up working better?

      I'm not sure but I do remember it starting to break down after a few months but I don't think I ever mixed it with anything. Maybe that will stretch the life out longer? Definitely let me know how long it lasts for ya!
