      I really feel for doctors who are faced with this issue. The person who is looking to change genders has to rely on the expertise of a doctor who knows the differences between male and female. I don't know of any women who had to undergo castration in their life time.

      The unintended side effect of this is that people would become quite wary of those who openly express their pronouns.
      They would most likely avoid them in the first place, or stop doing business with them if they already do.
      If one employs one of these folks, there'll be in for a rough time in the coming months.

She had aspirations of going into a very competitive surgical specialty that is already very difficult to get into to begin with. That ain't happening anymore with this mess up she has now on her record. Regarding Wake Forest, she hasn't been kicked out of the school but has been told to take a leave of absence so things can cool off. All in all, I'm almost certain that she'll still be a doctor, she just wont be the type of doctor that she initially wanted to be. Hopefully she takes this as a lesson tho and deletes her twitter.

      She deserves to be sued and in my opinion prison time because this is just what she told us, we don't know how far she's taken her abuse of patience and it harms the medical community also.

As a student, she wouldn't have been allowed to try and place a line again, she would have had to contact someone else to do it.
      With the school not kicking her out, that was more so to protect themself. If they were to have done that she would have likely lawyered up and sued the school. On top of that, the school has to report when they dismiss students.

    Pronoun stuff is extremely weird to anyone who isn’t a member of LGTBQ community. We all went to school, we all know what basic gender science is and what the appropriate prounouns are in the English Language. Activists- or whatever they are- would do well to at least acknowledge that this is all extremely weird and extremely new, and that there is nothing malicious about those feelings.

    • @PHlophe
      @PHlophe 2 года назад

      it ain't exactly a matter of agreeing or not. well before the visible non gender conforming we'd all known/met people whose gender we couldn't pin down even when with the help of a name. so its just now that it is starting to get formalized and acknowledged you are making it about you when its not.. Lik *oh i don't like it.. who are they* . you are reasoning like white people who think getting rid of negro and then using black or african american is too much for them.
      My students were very much confused about my ethnicity. and until this day i can tell they are unconvinced that I am a black person . They are making it about themselves because they insist i have to look a very specific way to be a black male.

    • @benjaminberman6200
      @benjaminberman6200 2 года назад +32

      @@PHlophe this is not like ethnicity or race. From the beginning of civilization man and women had definitions based on physical characteristics present in their bodies.
      Also- in part because of those physical differences- men tend to present in a certain way, and women in other ways. But that is not determinate. There are men who look more like women usually do, and women who present in a way we would normally associate with a man.
      The Feminist movement did an admirable job developing the idea that women don’t have to “look” or “act” like women to be properly appreciated by society.
      Now- they have turned that idea on its head! If a lady decides she wants to wear baggy jeans and cut her hair short we now have to wonder that she isn’t really a woman??
      How does that follow, and how is that a matter of human or civil rights like race or ethnicity?
      The argument being made here is that in addition to male and female genitalia there are also male and female brains and gendered personalities. Maybe it is true, but it’s a long jump to make to declaring that it is an objective reality like the XX and XY chromosome.
      All of this is BEFORE we even get to the language absurdity!

    Years ago I had an old coworker that wasn't able to complete an externship after chuckling during a patient exam. The doctor had asked the woman/ patient if she only had one partner and she said yes, but cut her eyes over to my coworker and she laughed a little. That doctor fired her, she wasn't able to get a grade, and ended up failing to become a medical assistant.
