When this album came out back in the day, everyone agreed it was a dish best served LOUD!
Especially this song. Hell yeah!
Any other way, is just rock blasphemy.
And I was right there cranking it all the way up. But they also have songs u don't have to blow out your speaker's.
And with individually wrapped beans 😉
If you owned a PIONEER, MARANTZ or uh SANSUI receiver In 1978, VH I is THEE!! album in summer '78! The aforementioned big 3 of home paired with a pair of JBL speakers and either a GARRARD or SCOTT turntable. TURN IT UP!!!
I was 16, flipping through the bins at a record warehouse with a friend, when that reverse car horn intro started out from the speakers. "Interesting", I thought, as I paused for a moment. "What's next?" When the bass line grooved in and the riff dropped, my jaw literally dropped and I looked up across the store to see my friend staring at me wide-eyed. It was clear that this was DIFFERENT. We said nothing and just headed straight to the counter to see who this was (they propped up the album cover of what they were playing on the wall). We walked over to the display, picked up an album each (there would be no taping and sharing of this album, as was usual) hopped on our bikes and road home. We had some serious listening to do. Still one of the most vivid memories of my childhood.
Thats awesome
Yup me too, I was 17 and never heard heavy guitars 🎸 played like this before! It was ear candy 🍬
I don't know why but reading this memory almost got me teary eyed. The good old days!
Hell yeah. After all these years, when that guitar 🎸 riff drops, it just HITS. 💀
@@Clnt874 LOL you and me both. Kinda choked up reading it, lmao...
When you say Van Halen sounds clean, to me that's down to the fact that you can hear separation in all the instruments, done as they would sound live, without overdubs. They sounded powerful, but with a certain space and separation and airiness in the sound. With headphones you could follow one instrument or another and hear it cleanly. Also, a lot of that is testament to Eddie's effortlessly precise playing.
Exactly, that clean sound is missing in many of today's productions.
Yup, saw them live on the tour for Van Halen 2 and the energy and the sound was just amazing. Can't go wrong with 1 guitar
if the player knows what he is doing.
Music for this album was done in like 6 days. Vocals took longer. All you had to do with VH is set up the instruments and press the record button
Ted Fucking Templeman!!
@@pulsarlights2825 Yeah! Ted must have had a lot of mic placement savvy.
I love people who can appreciate Dave's singing!
He sounds like another guitar.
How so when they ask, “Was that Eddie Van Halen singing…or who’s singing?” 🤦♀️
@@jamesclapp6832 Absolutely!!!
Dave's voice is gorgeous. He is just extremely inconsistent in his effort. Ice Cream Man, On Fire, Atomic Punk all great vocals...rich tone, full sound, killer falsetto screams. Best live! Saw them 3 times with Dave early on and he was a tremendous personality and entertainer.
Back at ya!
David Lee Roth is the singer. It's easy, they're singing about the life of a rockstar. Thought it was going to be simple but ended up not being so. Being out on the road all the time, maybe having lots of girls but no actual love, no one to come home to.
Dave is gay, the "girls" were actually male
@@paulmahon1613 Without the Van Halen brothers Roth had no career...Maybe those 2 years with Steve Vai but that was over 30 years ago....
Yep. He said what he said.
Van Halen were not yet rock stars when this song came out.
@@CribNotes okay then a working rock musician/band out on the road
"Runnin' with the devil" was the kind of lifestyle that he was living "when he jumped out on the road," touring with the band. That's when he found that 'living the simple life wasn't so simple' when you'v got everything in excess... "I'm living at a pace that kills." Van Halen was a party-hard band
Brad & Lex, when this album came out, it was simply mind blowing. No one had heard anything like this band. And then the real eruption....the rock world was stunned.
Yup, what was there up until then? Classic Rock, Hard Rock and Punk Rock, and nothing sounded like this.
I was 14 when this came out and have to agree with you about Eruption especially, mind blowing! Couldn't get enough...
Agreed. The sound was amazing. I was 14 when this came out.
Yup blew us all away, especially guitar players who were stunned. Set the path for most of the 80s rock sound.
@@module79l28 Yep, nothing but Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Cream, even Peter Frampton...
“Read everything: books, magazines, billboards, street signs. Everything.”
David Lee Roth on how he comes up with his lyrics.
This album, their first, turned the rock guitar scene on its head. A true masterpiece.
Any and all songs off this debut are worth checking out.
Eddie Van Halen on guitar
David Lee Roth on vocals
Alex Van Halen on drums
Michael Anthony on bass
Yep, Eddie's sound and playing style on this album changed rock music.
They ALL sing, and David as frontman. #clean #instrumentation #simple #couchgang
This was an amazing album. I remember back in ‘78 cranking up the volume when listening to it. When RUNNING WITH THE DEVIL was playing my mom would start screaming TURN THAT OFF! TURN THAT OFF! I guess Mom didn’t want me running with the devil.
Yes! My jam! (I am a Baptist preacher’s daughter) lol
Love your comment made me laugh. This song makes you to want to run with the devil yes.
Neither did mine lol
I still remember buying this album back in 1978 - saw it in the record store and loved the logo on the cover, bought it without ever hearing anything about the band, took it home and put it on my record player and this was the first song I heard .. immediately blown-away and listened to the entire album at least 3 times that day, called my friends and said "you've got to come over and hear this band". I miss the days of making these awesome discoveries!!
"Clean" = Ted Templeman, the producer. This is the "best" sounding record ever made. Unmatched crispness and level mixing. Simply beautiful.
When they said that my first thought was "Ted" lol...
I couldn’t remember where I was in 1978 when this eight track tape came out I was in my brothers or 42 Oldsmobile and I knew rock ‘n’ roll will change forever when I heard Eddie are the first time
I was in a record store back in the late 70s when the clerk put this album on to play. About twenty seconds later I was at the counter, buying a copy. Later I got to see them in concert in Austin during their first tour, and about halfway through, bassist Michael Anthony did a solo that ended with him playing the opening notes for this song with his teeth. It was awesome.
David Lee Roth is the singer and his trademark is that scream. Eddie Van Halen and Michael Anthony are background vocals. They have a very unique sound and you can tell them from anyone. They are dynamite.
By the way, Alex Van Halen plays the drums
I've often wondered if DLR cry's like he screams.
@@nathanpadilla213 😂😂😂
@@nathanpadilla213 not sure, but I know multiple black belt DLR could make YOU cry anytime he wanted.
@@hoosiermaker2358 I'm scared of him. 😬
The simple life is not being attached or tied to anyone or anything. But, the price for that is not having a love you can call real, nobody waiting for you to come home.
Its why David Lee Roth had paternity insurance
@@efakter1
I see you, Sammy
It's hard to overstate how much of a sea change this song made in the course of hard rock. I was twelve, it was jaw-dropping hearing Eddie for the first time.
You're right about that. I distinctly remember how VH pretty much killed off the disco era, lol. I was an instant fan and have all their albums.
So many imitators, of which zero percent succeeded.
"See"..... but I get your point
@@mikemclaughlin3306 "sea change": a profound or notable transformation.
@@floorticket lol.... looked it up.... I stand corrected. I only ever heard it in reference to the vatican.... no idea it came from Shakespeare..... learn something every day
This album dropped right when I got my first car, was a drummer in a hard rock cover band, still had all my hair and was invincible. What a time to be in your prime. 🎸🥁🎤🎹
Saw them in Dallas in1983. Senior in high school. I was already a huge fan. They are in the CD player in my car right now. RIP Eddie. Thanks for the music maestro.
... this group, and this album...Van Halen's 1978 debut, came along when rock needed a new sound. Van Halen delivered!! All songs on their debut are SO good.... An adrenaline charge!!
This song was the first VH tune I ever heard, and it hooked me instantly. I first heard it immediately after homeroom let out in high school, as someone who would soon become one of my best friends would crank it up on his boom box, walking down the hall to class.
I'm hoping you'll check out Eruption/You Really Got Me, from this same album. I know you watched the "Eruption Solo" video, but that wasn't really the same.
First one for me, too! I was a junior in high school when it came out and some guys in the apartments I lived at were blasting it out in the parking lot. Real quick bought the album from Columbia House, ha.
...me too Driver, I still miss Eddie a year later, still bummed out he is gone.
Same here guys. high school days when the music was real. And then there was Valerie Bertarelli, who I had a super crush on, and Eddie stole her from me. lol
Haha! Other way around for me.
I absolutely agree! My very first concert was Van Halen's 1980 Invasion Tour, when I was 9 years old...that first VH record is my favorite to this day, and I highly recommend the studio version of "Eruption" as opposed to the live version most folks react to...

I love that you guys are listening to VH! Just don't feel obligated to like it! :) their music isn't winning any lyrical poetry rewards or anything, but imo they just capture having fun in your late teens like no one else :)
Gotta love david lee Roths almost whistle tone screams
In the olden days before lyrics could be found, I always thought Dave sang " I got no love in Korea"' Even though I knew it must've been wrong, I couldn't make out just what he was saying.
Haha!
"Love your career"....... lol.....
David Lee Roth employed polyphonic vocals, which I love. He also had a decent range. He’s not one would point to as having a good voice, but he was still a great singer, and a damned astounding frontman. Mark Anthony’s high tenor was also a big part of that characteristic VH sound, and created interesting textures when singing with EVH, behind DLR.
This was the first Van Halen song I ever heard and the riff hit me like no other song ever hit me and became the beginning of me becoming a Die Hard Van Halen Fan.
I was SOO in love with David lee Roth when I was young, I had posters/pics from magazines all over my walls and ceiling lol, Mom said he looked like a woman HAHA.. she just didn't know what sexy was LOL
David Lee Roth was the vocalist on the first 6 albums and they are all amazing!
1st song. 1st album. My introduction to this band walking into a party, music blasting, people laughing. I still remember this from soo long ago. I am almost 65. Diamond Dave's voice is epic!! 💎
Listen to "Jamie's Crying" its a very good hit they did and its really enjoyable to listen to.
I was 12 when this album came out in '78.
When "Runnin' With The Devil" and "Eruption/You really Got Me" screamed across the airwaves and slammed us right between the eyes (and ears), the face and sound of hard rock was changed forever. We had NO idea what we were listening to....but we loved every note played.
Eddie Van Halen was my first guitar hero. Angus Young of AC/DC would be the next in line.
This came out when I was still in High School and we partied are backsides to this lp. Eddie gave us a whole new style of playing guitar.
Also do “Everybody Wants Some”. For some reason I pictured Eddie running a pipe wrench across the strings in the first part of the song lol.
He was scraping the pick across the strings above the nut, which is the piece at the top of the neck that keeps the strings in place in terms of height above the fingerboard and the distance between each string. The tension of the strings is really tight there so it just makes the plinking sound rather than the strings fully vibrating as they do between the nut and the bridge. Eddie was such an innovator and it is amazing how many little tricks and techniques he already had for the release of this first album in early 1978. Rocked the world, but completely shook the guitar community, turned it upside down and changed it forever, similar to the impact of Hendrix in the 60s. Introducing us to guitar sounds that had never been heard before, especially hearing Eruption for the first time. Besides an incredible naturally talented guitarist, he was always tinkering with the tools of his trade (guitars, amps, effects, etc.) to replicate the sounds in his head. His infectious smile while playing showed how effortless it was for him from a talent perspective and how he enjoyed and loved what he was doing. Alex is/was a phenomenal drummer as well. You guys should definitely do a VH livestream and/or full album review. Also, consider checking out new music from Eddie’s son Wolfgang in the band Mammoth WVH. Start with “The Distance” ruclips.net/video/HI3aPJkZmNU/видео.html a song about his dad after he passed away after battling cancer. Even if you don’t react to the official video, please watch it for yourselves. Very touching and makes the song even more meaningful. Side note: Mammoth was one of Van Halen’s early band names before settling on Van Halen. Wolfgang is super humble and nice. A gifted musician in his own right; for this first album he wrote all the songs and plays all the instruments. Pretty amazing! Please check it out and see if you like it. Thanks, keep up the great reactions! Love you guys!
When I hear everybody wants some I can't get a singing claymation hamburger out of my head 😂
@@ginamarandino64512 DOLLARS !!
For guitar players, this song is special because the guitar was tuned in an unusual way. Eddie always played with all strings tuned down a half step and for this song the B string down a whole step. Eb, G#,C#,F#, A, Eb
Diamond Dave right there , the ultimate frontman… Eddie (Guitar) & Alex (Drummer) are the brothers 😎 Michael Anthony on Bass!! 🔥🔥🤘🤘🔥🔥🤘🤘🔥🔥
Good ear Lex. That’s exactly one of the things that hooked me in the early 80’s. Even live Eddie was super clean and crisp
Not just Eddie; the entire band was in the pocket from start to finish in their concerts. Michael Anthony and Alex Van Halen are easily in the top ten with their instruments.
Everyone was so unique on their own that we'll never cease to be amazed by the synergy of all four men playing and singing together on stage.
I used to rent a cottage in the 70s on Lake Temiskaming in northern Ontario and would play this album at night on my kick ass Sansui stereo on the porch facing the beach. My friends in town would sit on the dock 5 miles across the lake in town and could hear this as clear as a bell.
One of my most favorite Van Halen songs. The other is "Ice Cream Man."
Thanks,
💜
David Lee Roth was the singer for this era of Van Halen. He just came out and told everyone that he is retiring and hanging up the shoes. Eddie Van Halen was the guitarist, and he passed away just a bit over a year ago. Alex Van Halen is the drummer and Eddie's older brother. Michael Anthony is on bass. From 1977 to 1985 David Lee Roth was their singer. And to me. It is the best years of the band.
Amen!
I grew up on all this shit that you're finding just now. I'm one bad ass old man
Rest Well Eddie!
My absolute fave song by Van Halen! I bought this CD and WORE IT OUT! David Lee Roth was the singer and I saw them live several years ago in New Orleans and he STILL got it! I've been in love with that man most of my life!
The year was 1978. Late summer, I believe. My friend Randy told me and my best friend Bobby (RIP Bobby!) that he had just bought a new album and we had to hear it. Who is it I asked? Van Halen he said. Of course, neither of us had heard of them. Randy had a job roofing and had $$ and he had recently bought a decent stereo system at Radio Shack. 100W receiver, Mach 1 speakers and a turntable hanging from the ceiling on chains. We all piled into his small bedroom at his parents house. He dropped the needle on side one of the album, and the second the bass hit the first note, it shook the house and I have been a big fan ever since.
Great reaction. Keep them coming.
Lead singer in these early is David Lee Roth, Lead guitar is Eddie Van Halen, Drummer is brother Alex Van Halen, on Bass is Michael Anthony. The song is about life tour as rockstar and how it is harder than they thought.
I would live a reaction to, "So this is Love" and "Sinner's Swing"
Yes!! Fair Warning all day and night.
Oooh! Sinner's Swing. For me, I hear the pinnacle of the brown sound in that solo. Who hears these notes in their head? Who?! Eddie was from somewhere else, man. John 5 described him as being touched by God, and I believe it.
..
The menace is loose again!
Awesome reaction! This was Van Halen's first album, American Hard Rock at the height of disco, and they recorded and mixed this in 18 days! Their second album only took 6 days to record and mix! This album is like Frito chips, you can't just listen to one song, the whole album is fire!
When my kids were little and this song came on the car radio I would sing "RUNNING WITH SCISSORS" and they'd get a big kick out of it. Ahh the simpler days.
Brad & Lex have the BEST intros to their videos. State the title then, “Let’s get into it”.
Backvocal is Michael Anthony with bas-guitar - secret weapon of Van Halen.
I remember. 1978. We, (the band), were driving to a gig and a commercial came on the radio. Some new band with a new album. They played parts of Atomic Punk and Jamie's Cryin'.
I was blown away. My brother and drummer. He says, "just another flash in the pan band". I thought... Nope. This is something different. As soon as the album came out I bought it.
That was when I basically stopped playing Les Pauls, (for a little while), and got a Strat. I needed that tremelo. Lol. Great reaction.
The bass player Michael Anthony was such a solid element in the band. He was happy providing a driving bass line as a perfect canvas on which Eddie could go to town with sonic colour. But!! On certain songs his bass playing would shine. He was also the main backing singer, with his cherub-like wailing.
That vocalist was David Lee Roth. After DLR, they brought in Sammy Hagar and I don't wanna talk about that. Eddie Van Halen on guitar Alex Van Halen on drums and Michael Anthony on bass.
David Lee Roth is the vocalist for Van Halen on their first 6 albums & final album.
Eddie (guitars/keyboards) & Alex (drums) Van Halen are the only 2 band members that remained throughout their almost 50 year run.
DLR was there from 1974-85, 1996 & 2007-2020.
Michael Anthony (bass) was there from ‘74-‘06.
Sammy Hagar (vocals) from ‘85-‘96 & ‘03-‘05.
Gary Cherone (vocals) ‘96-‘99.
Wolfgang Van Halen (bass) ‘07-‘20.
"Goddamn it lady I ain't lyin' to ya" WOW. This is the first time I have ever learned what Dave is singing in that section!
The pick behind the nut on the guitar in the intro was the coolest thing I ever heard when I was a kid just getting into rock music.
They changed everything. RIP, Ed. ❤️
David lee roth is lead singer until 1985. He left the band and sammy hagar took over singing. Eddie plays guitar, Eddie's brother Alex is the drummer and Michael Anthony is on bass. The early van halen was hard rock with many great hits like. Jump, I'll wait, ain't talking about love and many more. When sammy joined the band in 1986. Van halen changed their style to meet the music of that era, which was more pop rock. Sammy really showed off Eddie's talents during this time. With Eddie being able to play many different instruments. The duo of sammy and Eddie really created so many unique songs during the late 80's into the 90' with song's like. Right now, poundcake, why can't this be love, and one of my favorites off the soundtrack from the movie twister. Humans being. Eddie just absolutely shreds the whole song and sammy just goes off. Awsome song. Check it out. Van halen was great, it was awesome growing up on their music back then.
Used to listen to a lot of Van Halen growing up. My mom always told me that David Lee Roth can hit all those high notes because of the pants he wore.
The Lead singer is David Lee Roth. He was their first vocalist. Helluva showman. The simple life he is talking about is the unattached life. No job, no responsibilities, no attachments. Just living for yourself and doing as you please. And he has found it isn't so simple... or great. You can live simply but most people's idea of what that is all screwed up.
As usual, I found myself dancing in my chair with Lex and grinning at her grin, remembering the day this album came out.
Lead vocals are David Lee Roth, guitar/backing vocals Eddie Van Halen, bass/backing vocals Mark Anthony, drums/backing vocals Alex Van Halen.
No one can do it like Dave, VH was at their all time best the DLR!! This band is so amazing, the VH brothers are two of the most talented people on earth, and Mike? all I can say is they would not be VH without Mike. Mike's vocals are key, they tie it all together and he's an amazing bass player. I personally do not care for Hagar. THIS song is the epitome of the original VH sound that everyone fell in LOVE with! Dave's screams cannot be matched, he was a great front man, always getting the crowd going, he was super energetic, athletic, crazy and sexy!
My Childhood right here. Saw them in Concert 3 X and enjoyed every bit of it. First time was when I was 15 years old.
I was raped and assaulted in the 70s and all adults said that Rock and Roll was devil music and drove kids to drugs but for me a Van Halen song from the album Woman and Children First gave me the strength and pride to not commit suicide so just goes to show you music of all kinds is uplifting thanks for letting me vant keep on Rockin 🤘
This album went platinum within months in 1978. Songs like this one hit the radio and became a game-changer for hard rock with its raw, dirty, but sharper sound, next-level guitars, and whole-band-harmonizing vocals (like Queen, but with a near-metal style). Eddie was the guitar-maestro innovator we needed coming out of the 70s, and Dave the bombastic, take-no-prisoners hard rock frontman. It was a privilege to hear their success grow over those next 5 years, as a teenager back then...what a time.
David was the hottest front man in the world to all us 19-year-olds when this album came out. Unique sound!
I love both of your reactions to this. Especially the way you both sway back & forth in unison. Love the review!
Runnin With The Devil was the first song off of the 1978 debut album Van Halen. The lead singer is David, Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, guitarist, and background, vocals, Alex, Van Halen, drums, Michael Anthony, bass guitar and background vocals. I wish you guys would’ve just listened to Eruption right after it, because I was in high school, and my friend and I would get off the bus go upstairs to his room, do our bong hits , and put the album,on and crank it.super loud🎸🎸🎸
Whole first album is 🔥🔥🔥
This was the 1st song I ever heard by Van Halen way back just before high school. When I heard it, I went slack jawed, immediately. I remember thinking that it was the newest and coolest sound out of a guitar that I had ever heard. The attitude of the song blew me away, also. I remember thinking who the F are these guys! When I listen to it now, it is a fairly simple song and simple (though bad-ass) riff, but at the time, it was like nothing I'd ever heard before and I knew I would never forget that 1st listen. To that point with few exceptions, real rock had been exterminated by disco. There just weren't any new rock bands killin' it. I think Van Halen singlehandedly saved rock n roll. And from 1978 until 1984 they only got better. Rest in peace Eddie (GOAT)!
I know that I'm not the only one on your channel saying this, but Lex... your honesty and perspective on things, is so refreshing. You seem like an amazing person, with not a bad bone in your body. You too, Brad. From a viewers perspective... you can see how amazing your marriage is, and I sincerely hope that you keep doing this channel for a long time. You're both one of my favorite reaction channels, and I wish you success in your endeavors.
The brothers in the band were the drummer and guitarist (Alex and Eddie respectively).
This was their first hit off their debut album. still one of their best. one of my favorites of all their songs.
Another great one from that same album is JAMIES CRYING
Ton Loc sampled the riff from that song for one of his two famous hits.
Their debut album is by far my favorite VH album, and this is one of the best tracks.
There used to be an Air Force competition that was held bi-annually in Florida called "Readiness Challenge" that involved all the Air Force commands. The team I was on was Space Command. Each team would march into the hangar every night to the beat of whatever song they chose and ours was "Running with the Devil". Also, we won that year. Lol
This song is a trick -- it's the first song on the album and probably the first Van Halen song most people heard. It lulls you to sleep... then song #2 comes on -- Eruption. It blew people's minds back in 1978. Most people didn't even believe it was actually a guitar.
This song and album are a landmark in music history.
This is the first track on van halen's first album, what an opening sound and great album
Hey guys , you keep bringing up childhood memories from the Bronx. Van Halen was one of our favorite groups back then and still is. We would have the cassette playing in the boom box and I also had the 8 track at home. Classic memories
Take care and God bless
JOEY FROM THE BRONX
That sound at the beginning was a row of old English car horns run at the same time to get the sound they needed. It's cool the things they did to make their music.
Jesus Lee Roth was so good ...... his solo albums are amazing too. ❤
My fave 80's rock band, saw live twice, excellent!!
Great reaction as usual. Their first album from 1978 totally jams. Ya'll will definitely dig the second, third and fourth songs on side 1
"Eruption / You Really Got Me" &
"Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love"
Peace Out 😊✌
My first Van Halen song I ever heard when I was young.
This was the first song on their first album. People were pretty shocked when this came out in 1978.
The beginning of the song is several car horns they found in a junk yard and connected them in the studio with a volume control.
The brothers in this band are Eddie and (drummer) Alex Van Halen. Singer David Lee Roth is a lifelong bachelor with no known children, or siblings. The, by rock 'n roll standards, "oddball" was bassist Michael Anthony. He married young to his high school sweetheart and, except for his love of whiskey, never lived the "rockstar" lifestyle in any way. To this day, Mike is widely regarded among his peers as one of the most genuinely nicest people to ever be involved in the business.
Mike's biggest contribution to the band wasn't necessarily his bass playing, but rather his vocals. David Lee Roth had a very limited vocal range. All the high-pitched vocals in the early Van Halen songs was Michael Anthony.
David Lee Roth on lead vocals, Eddie Van Halen on all guitars, Michael Anthony on bass and backing vocals and Alex Van Halen on drums
Top 5 favorite albums of all time in my book...probably 2 more in that list of 5 were Van Halen too.
*David Lee Roth* is the vocalist🎤 the one doing the acrobatic jumps in the music video *(Jump) Eddie Van Halen* is the lead guitarist🎸
Lex, I love your interpretation of the song. I've been listening to them for over 40 years and never thought of it that way.
Look at lex in her LOG shirt, her style is now jeans and band shirts! Welcome to the family....
Yes, we listened to this album from start to finish at the cool guys sleepover in Grade 6 in summer of 1978. Knocked my socks off when this came on first. Too cool!
This song is the first song on the album. The very beginning of this song is actually a car horn played backwards at low speed.
Now, just imagine: it's 1978. You just buy an album by this new rock band named Van Halen. You go home, drop the needle on the record, and this is the first thing you hear. And then, after this song the very next track is "Eruption" followed by a cover of The Kinks' "You Really Got Me" and then "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love."
How's that for the first 4 songs on an album?
Most of Vanhalen's early stuff was recorded live in studio as opposed to each guy recording his instrument seperately and then mixing it together afterwards.
