Considering that this was 6 years ago, it'd be really interesting to revisit these companies and see how their premium and regular economy has changed and potentially improved in 2022.
Didn't change at all. LH is really outdated. No wonder they are not rated a five star airline anymore. They even just started to have new BC seats. And that just because they took over some A350 that were meant for Philippine Airlines.
Would only book LH for EU/Domestic flights
I love how the crew were so accommodating and it's cool how you had a big group photo with them! Plus those lower deck bathrooms look really modern and clean. A very impressive review/video as usual! :)

Love Lufthansa too buddy. Best part of my trip when I got upgraded to Business Class from Frankfurt to Calcutta back in 2011. Wished that Lufthansa would go back to Calcutta where it has the new modern International Terminal which it opened a few years ago.

LHs A346 really seems like a crew friendly aircraft: Large kitchen, cozy and private crew rest area and the luxury of having to deal with 2-4-2 config as opposed to 3-4-3 on a B777. I heard that Airbus plans to install lavatories downstairs aswell. Hopefully the airlines will adopt this generous and nice looking lavatories. Those lavs really amazed me lol

Super excited to be flying on the A340-600 from Denver-Munch here in a few weeks. Like you it's my favorite plane. Have you flown on the A350 yet? Just wondering what it's like. Hopefully I will see one when I am in Munich. I've really been thinking about taking the non-stop flight from SFO-SIN on Singapore Airlines.

I can't believe no airline sells tickets to those crew rest areas if they don't use them themselves. I'd probably prefer those to business class seats, to premium econ for sure.

Nice video, but to be honest things like menu and etc have Emirates in economy, which is half the price, sure more legroom here, but for example no hot towels before take off. I don't think its worth twice as much.
Pavel 49 Emirates's economy has a better legroom than Lufthansa premium economy. the 2017 economy from Emirates is 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

you're right,the triple 7's are better but i do like the A340's but their engines are severely under-powered!
Sure, the 777 is more fuel efficient so it's THE cash cow for Boeing, but the 340-6 is a beautiful craft, outside and in.
the a340 600 is the best plane from lufthansa other than the a380 but i dont get to fly in it alot. Lufthansa is easily one of the best airlines in the world. even the economy class is excellent.

Hi Dan, flew recently LH Premium Economy on the FRA-PEK with A380 and the PEK-MUC with the A340-600. Love very much the A340-600 for flying, the Premium Economy in the A380 is in my opinion a bit nicer because it is a separate cabin in front of the aircraft. But this product on LH is really great and worth to try it! Great Job LH!
hey danthorp, I'm flying premium economy in the fall on LH, seated first row behind business....any idea where the TV Monitors are in that row? does it fold dow from the ceiling or out from the seat
I usually fly business and from what I've seen I think those premium economy seats have TVs that you pull out from the arm rest or the bottom of the seat. Hope that helps.

Lufthansa has the best Premium Economy that I'm aware of.
BUT at some price points there is not much difference in price with the cheapest business class available.
Just have to be a little flexible with booking sometimes to get the most out of it.
How did you ask for the flight attendant, normally they won't agree, I'll try one day though, I've travelled on LH premium economy before, it's really awesome.
I'm waiting to board right now. I had previously bought an economy flight, but just got upgraded to premium economy out of nothing. I'm thrilled! Yay!

I just flew on Lufthansa's Premium Economy. The way there i flew on a 737 and I say I had quite an enjoyable flight. I felt cared to like the 'old' business class. On the way back I flew on the Airbus. Still nice, but had some differences. I was able to sleep both times without much disruptions. Would recommend this one if upgrading last second and they have some deal going on. I would not pay upfront for this class.

Haha, the same "happened" to me. Booked economy class on the 747-8 to Newark and at the gate they told me i got a new seat because they were overbooked. So i could enjoy the premium economy class for free for 8 hours to New York... :-D
I don't know... that Purser didn't seem so friendly when you guys stood in the Galley.... when I compare that to me I really have no Idea why Lufthansa rejected my application to the fa job...

The Airbus A340-600 is my favourite plane to, I had a great experience flying Virgin p/economy London to New York a few years ago.

I can't agree that much. I flew lh premium economy Dusseldorf-Newark and Miami-Frankfurt. Seats are okay and for sure way better than the insanely super-cramped seats in Lufthansa economy. But the entertainment system is really not very extensive for a long flight, even though the screens are good. I don't see a huge difference between Lufthansa premium economy and a good row on Thai Airways or Emirates regular economy though...

How much does it cost to upgrade to premium economy
It depends on the flight itself, and the price for an upgrade can fluctuate. Call Lufthansa's reservation center for details specific for your flight.
I flu from Seoul/s.korea to Munich with A340 , the upgrade would have been 260 Euro/ one way. I'm glad I didn't upgrade though because the economy class was half empty. Haha
When flying to the states book via United. You can get Lufthansa premium economy there for under 100 bucks
