Whilst most temples have 'monks' there are also females or nuns that can be found in some. 😗Unlike a lot of western religions et Buddhism is NOT a CELIBATE religion and some 'monks' are married to local people as in ie Thailand.😗 Young children are often given to the temples as novices or recruits for training /schooling et There have been some issues with just how some of them have been treated by those senior to them. 😗Some might say that Buddhism is very much based upon 'idolatry' ie the worship and reverence to an idol or statue. That can sometimes detract from the more spiritual aspects AND become more of a materialistic means for those who can, to make money et from such almost to the point of exploitation. 😗
It beautiful as a traditional festival, like a holiday, but Buddha was just a man, live-died turn to dust and should not be worship as a deity , my GOD created Buddha, his parents, his mind, his hands, his brains,his thoughts ,his country, this world and will return soon to judge Buddha and his whole nation, for this world is headed to its own destruction
