- Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov became the fifth player to have a 100-assist season as the Lightning beat the Maple Leafs in the regular season finale for both teams.

100 assists in 75 games is wonderful. 69 goals in 81 games is brilliant but 40+ goals and 100 assists in a season is possibly a better achievement. 😊
Now who is going to break 93 goals, 163 assists or 215 points 🤔
Kinda hope these guys (Kuch, Nate and McD) push each other to that level in the coming seasons

McDavid might be able to pull off a 115-120 assist season, capping at maybe 175 points--- but the Gretzky records ain't changing

Should have been suspended for that elbow ... but thats the NHL. Noone in the NHL deserved that elbow more ... but Kucherov should have been suspended.

for SELANNE it was 1st year in league!
I lived in USSR that time, NHL was not shown yet, but i bought Russian sport newspaper, called sport-express to catch stats!

If it were a points-only award then yes, but I think MacKinnon has a really good chance. Better goal ratio, better 5 on 5 numbers, and way better defensively. Gonna be close
@@JohnnyFalco Without Kuch, tampa won’t play in playoffs. He took part in 50% of Tampa’s goals. Without MacK, it doesn’t matter, Colorado will be in playoffs. Kuch has 64 points in games with TOP 6 teams, Mack only 37.
@@Ivan_Efanov I think Kuch should be MVP. Unfortunately the media has forgotton what an MVP is. It's essentially become a redundant Ted Lindsay that's voted on by the media rather than the NHLPA. It's a joke.
I would love to see Kuch as MVP with Mac getting the Ted. That would feel justified.

Kucherov , an excellent offensive player . 100 assists . Not very many have reached that mark.

@@toke7342 That two players did it in the same year doesn't take anything away their accomplishment. There were only 3 players on that list prior to Kuch and McDavid hitting 100.
The other guy was pointing out that Kuch was the first winger to hit 100 assists. Also first winger to hit 40g/100a.
Sucks we couldn’t get matthews 70, hats off to the guch for being the league’s best.

Well, I love that Kutcherov did his thing against the team that every year for the past 300 years is favorite to win the Cup. Leafs have above average forwards (3) but they don't have anyone close to the value, heart, or skill of Kutcherov on their team.
