insert the string (without any knot) on the hole of the bridge from the front and then take it from the sound hole moving the body till you see the string. Then pulls it out a little from the sound hole and makes a simple knot in the side. Then it is pulled from the bridge side so that the knot comes to touch the soundboard from below.
@@AquilaStrings and you keep that tension until the string is locked at the tuning peg? Because I'm trying this right now and it's really tedious and difficult.
The thinnest (G) string right? I used a double knot and a pair of pliers to keep it in place while winding. It worked, but it was tricky. My next stop was using a gas flame to bubble up a hard stopper.
Thank you for the request. Our strings are made for standard instruments like the one you can see in the video. If you have pins at the bridge, there is the risk that the strings could break. Hello, I bought a Kala U-Bass-JYMN-FS Journeyman Acoustic-Electric that came with round wounds. Do I need to change the nut or anything like that in order to switch over to thundergut strings?
I'm not a fan of this even if the manufacturer recommends it. I insert the string end into the hole (after using the trimming guideline) and wind it up. If there's still too much on the spindle, I'll unwind and remove another inch or more. I believe there is no wrong way of doing this.
Oh, man! Thank you!:))) I was thinking about this way of installing but was afraid to spoil the string in process. I was like i needed to see any comment of successfully done of that way of stringing:) It was absolutely easy to do and it solved many issues with intonation, buzz and other things. Wow! Thank you again:))

How do you get the string tight at bridge when installing? I've tried knotting and just keeps coming loose?

Hello, generally how long do the rubber strings last on a UBass?
My micro bass has string pins at the bridge. Will string pins work instead of knotting the ends?
