I miss fine art and just genuine work in general so much, I can't even begin to describe what listening to this really feels like with words. Every single one of these solos filled my heart, and I was also brought to tears. The tears were because, for a very long time, I haven't seen, met, or experienced the music, art, or action of another person in the present day; who used a real, genuine idea or a real, genuine emotion they hold in their minds and souls for something substantial. Usually, especially these days; the people who do apply it to very small things that aren't much more than entertainment. Anyone who is doing anything else generally creates very hollow, stilted works filled with textbook themes with no coherent spirit or meaning. All of your work, that I can find, has the full authority of your soul behind it; and I just want to thank you for being willing to share that. The best way I can say with words, for experiencing someone bringing that to an activity, is like being able to take a breath for the first time in nearly 8 years.
Thank you Mischa. Your "original"video inspired me to learn the cello as an adult, and it has been the HIGHLIGHT of my year. Wonderful. Keep playing with PASSION. I look forward to attending one of your tour performances once this virus is over!
Mr. Maisky, your performance of all the Bach cello suites are what I look up to as a cellist, so thank you so much for posting these videos as a follow up to the original recordings! I am looking forward to your 6th cello suite video. That piece is a long term goal for me...
