I took my younger sister to see them on this tour in Portland, Oregon. It was a perfect night. Paul left mid-show because his wife was giving birth! The improvised. It was magic.
I'm a smart guy, I got there at 10am and set up next to the mixing desk so I knew the mix would be sweet where I sat. Took a bag of good weed and a hat ( it was a glorious day after the day before had washed out the gig), and waited. It was a hell of a gig, they were a lot more power pop than the studio songs portrayed. The energy was off the charts, i never saw Neil as a stadium frontman but he was the boss that night
Paul Hester, I get your humor as a mask for inner pain. So sad you left us so soon. I love the magic you made in Enz and Crowded House. Solid and always upfront backbeat anchoring some of the best music this world has ever been gifted with.
Me too! It's amazing live. I know your comment was 6 years ago but I actually think the 2016 version of this song (also from this same venue) is the best one I've heard. Neil nails it!

I was on my then girlfriends parents boat on the harbour. Screamed my lungs out all nite with the gf and her Dad. Hmmmm I shoulda kept that gal 🙄
