Honestly the fact that it was so close was really surprising to me. I expected there to be a pretty substantial gap, given that you can fish from day 2 but farming really takes a while to get rolling.
As a casual player, I couldn't bring myself to laser focus on fishing. I like to bounce around doing a little of everything. However, ranching might be perfect for me, since its largely automatic. I've never been big on animals in SDV, usually only getting one of each. But when 1.6 hits consoles, I'm going with Meadowlands and going all in on Rancher/Barn Master. I'll fill up several coop and barns and see how it goes.
There are so many upgrades you can purchase to make animal & crop care easy once you get far enough in the game! I think that sounds perfect for you. I hope the console update comes soon too!
Another, a little unknown buff to Riverland farm - if you build bonus Cottages they will have a Fish Smoker each!!! And yes, this does include the Cottages you can have pre-build while creating the game 😳 Edit: how much you earn at the end of a season is really dependant on your skill and playstyle. I recently started playing on Riverland farm and by the end of Spring I had bought the Greenhouse, the Bus and Minecarts at Joja (don't hate plz - I have never played this route and wanted to give it a shot). On top of that I had built a Barn and 4 Cows. And I didn't neglect other skills as when I finished Spring I had not only lvl 10 in Fishing but also 5-6 in other skills (pushed hard for unlocking Quality Sprinklers before Summer). I have also gathered enough cash to buy 145 Starfruit seeds and 145 Quality Speed Gro (along with other seeds but in smaller quantities in case someone would ask for them).
Moonie stardew experiments.... blowing my mind already. I just don't like the riverlands layout, but i can consider it for future plays. Meadowlands takes a while to get going but i just prefer its aesthetics better, also CHIMKENS
to answer your question at 4:06 10k gold is the easy part. You will not find cave jellies. it's similar to sea urchin, u may never find one to craft a smoker
I am the player that don't like fishing and need a mod. I wasn't sure how big the Meadowfield farm is in terms of getting tons of crops in. Riverlands still doesn't feel like the a farmstyle playthrough I can handle lel. I think Meadowlands also sounds like an investment in the future unless you realllyyyyy like fishing and can gain a profit for it.
@@cyberidolmelany agree! meadowlands has a ton more space for crops and animals that I really prefer :3 and I enjoyed playing on it a lot more than Riverlands but the Fish Smoker is so nicezzzzzz
How much time did you spend mining? If you're buying coal (150g), then the unsmoked fish needs to sell for at least 150g just to break even. I do like the smoker, but I usually wait till I have a few dozen coal stockpiled (on top of smelting some bars for tool upgrades) before I start in on it. Then I'll smoke anything that sells for at least 100g unsmoked.
I've never played Stardew, and really had no interest in doing so, but maybe I should. I think the only critique I have with this video is the simplistic editing and your voice can seem kinda monotone sometimes. I think you will get better over time however, keep at it.
I'm wondering where you picked up the monotone sound from. I've heard several other well developed creators that sound similar. Though I notice you seem to be new to RUclips so maybe broaden your video consumption and you'll get better at critique.
I appreciate featuring Riverlands! I often completely forget about that farm.
Riverlands making a comeback.😮💨 hehe

Full year play of both farms for comparison would be neat!
I'd get so tired of the Riverland layout though🤣but I will consider it. :3
4:40 LOL I like how you show the optimal tv and bed placement
It's the only way LMAO
For Riverland farm, you can get more fish smoker for 100g from each cabin purchased from Robin too!
yeah a friend told me if you put more cabins down on Riverlands, you’ll have Fish Smokers in each house🤣🤣🤣 WILD
We've been blessed with another Moonie video ❤
you welcome !hwan❤

Something to note: smoked fish benefit from the artisan profession.

Wow, I think you just saved the Riverland map with this! I'm actually tempted to try a long-play on Riverland....
It's a game changer, for sure! Report back if you can make more gold than me in your first 28 days.😎

Practice makes perfect! Thank you for your feedback and I hope you enjoy Stardew if you choose to play it!
