Next two games he changed the game plan, he covered his injured partner ..did all the running, many killer smashes...and with his experience .and change of pace which made young Malaysians stranded ...they were confused and donno wht to do with unexpected change of pace.... it's the coach who changed the game plan, not him. ahsan did a good job covering hendra though. I think one of the reason why they can turn this around because hendra step up big time in game 2 and 3, he's scoring majority of the points for indonesia.

Me too, i was almost in tears watching them win again as they have splitted before and got a new partner but did not working then pairing again and won this super tournament All England. Keep it up.

I did stop the player several times while watching the live match as I did not have strong nerves to face their struggle! But I do believe Ahsan/Setiawan will devote their best and they certainly did. Despite Setiawan’s injured leg, their fighting spirit has touched our hearts. Congratulations Daddies, this All England Open has become an unforgettable one.
And also special tribute to the national coach of Indonesia. My wish was not to see him at the back sitting on the chair anymore as I was expecting all Indonesian final. Nevertheless, the coach deserves a special award this time for his wholehearted, heartfelt contribution. (PS: The two players are not under his official supervision as they are not in the national team anymore). How I wish he could have been honoured on the stage too. Very very incredible improvements for the young Malaysian pair, surprisingly they go through the final All England... However, I'll give my highest credit to the Indonesian pair, it's not because I'm an Indonesian, but the Indonesian pair went through the final with Hendra Setiawan got injured in the semifinal match, I'm not expecting that the Indonesian pair would win the match in the final, it's not because I doubt their ability and their experiences but because of the injury I thought the Malaysian pair have got a huge opportunity to win the match... eventually the Indonesian pair eager to win the it, the Indonesian pair manage and try to control the overall match after losing the 1st game and yashh I agree of what Gill Clark said that every young player has to learn from this senior pair on every aspect in terms of psychological and physical...

Di skor 9-7 set ketiga, terjadi rally yang sangat menyulitkan Malaysia. Smash dan dropshot bisa dikembalikan Malaysia. Mereka bahkan menempatkan bola ke belakang hingga terjadi kebingungan di Hendra dan Ahsan tentang siapa yang akan ambil pengembalian tersebut. Kebingungan itu menghasilkan bola tinggi yang enak skali buat di smash oleh Malaysia. Bola mengenai badan Ahsan. Skor menjadi 9-8. Komentator berpendapat bahwa rally ini akan menjadi momentum buat kebangkitan Malaysia yang akan leading setelah point tersebut. Saya setuju dengan komentator karena biasanya jika pada suatu rally, lawan diserang bertubi-tubi namun justru lawan mendapatkan winning point, maka lawan akan makin percaya diri dan penyerang justru down mentalnya. Namun ramalan ini tidak terbukti karena Hendra Ahsan tetap fokus dan tidak buyar dengan kehilangan satu poin tersebut. Hendra Ahsan tetap fokus dan melupakan kehilangan poin tersebut. Indonesia gives the Malaysian no chance to Attack at all on the rubber. Their flat play and serve return is so awesome that they almost didn't lift at all. Malaysian should have close it on second set. Good run for the young lads. It's nice to see the coach there for them, even though they are independent players.
that's what makes ahsan/setiawan so special, they always so dominant when it comes to service situation and their placement of the shuttle is so good that it's really hard for the opponent to make ahsan/hendra lift.
The reason they becomes indie Players is "kuota ticket". Nasional team PELATNAS only send 4 player each discipline. So, they can give their ticket to layer 5. They never get rejected nor degradation. They still trained & coached by the same person in the same hall. They are so highest respectfull from all the national team players. It proofed by the title KAPTEN for Hendra.
Give credit to Ahsan... He did his best to cover his injured partner (even tho Setiawan is not totally lazy because of the injury). His smash is a clever one that it can help Setiawan at the net. You can't just attack your partner without smart plan.

No fairy-tale ending for Malaysian young guns Chia and Soh who despite winning the first game by a wide 21-11 margin, were outgunned by seasoned campaigners Ahsan and Setiawan who smashed their way 21-14 and 21-12 to victory. Doubles is all about who attacks wins, as the Malaysians forgot their winning ways and were beaten into submission.
Dude, I think its merely because the malaysian duo couldnt handle the front and half court balls from Setiawan. At first set, setiawan still try to adjust his gameplay with his right calf injury. That's why the malaysian won it relatively easy. But when the second set start, setiawan already find his rythm of play. And the malaysian start to play under pressure. They couldnt get out of the pressure. Their points were always behind the indonesian Yes ahsan and setiawan are old. But ahsan still has the powerfull smash, and setiawan still has the deadliest net play. To beat ahsan/setiawan you have to play the way kevin/gideon did it on daihatsu indonesia masters 2019 final. But I gotta admit, the malaysian duo is a good pair, they just need to practice more on their flat drives and the ability to read the opponents gameplay. As time goes by, the experiences will teach them
This match is very touching for us (indpnesians) even for all people in the world. especially during Semi Final. very dramatic, very moved, very sad, and very worried because Hendra suffered an injury even though he finally won. actually for us, this All England drama started with the defeat of the Minion, the fall of other Indonesian players, Hendra's injury, Melati Jordan's defeated points and Fajar Rian's defeated points which were too stifling where they were only one step away, but all paid complete by Ahsan / Hendra with his victory. and three consecutive wins for Koh Herry IP at All England as a coach. we are proud! very proud ... and I'm sure Ahsan Hendra is a good person, who must have forgiven his enemy. whatever their mistakes. #terimakasihhendraahsan LOVE YOU DADDIES!!!! A good experience for Chia/Soh. Despite their loss, they played very well in this tournament (beat Astrup/Rasmussen, Liu/Zhang, and Alfian/Ardianto respectively), and they faced Ahsan/Setiawan in final and got a good lesson from this match. I hope they will improve and being a top class MD pair in future.

At the last 2 points I believe, when the audio was suddenly cut off, I thought I was watching some kind of silent, Martin Scorsese movie. It's kinda weird, but kinda awesome at the some time. You can only guess how the players must have felt, the emotion and the tense atmosphere of the game and the whole stadium. It's kinda accidentally brilliant that way. And of course congrats to Ahsan/Setiawan. Definitely still have some fire in the engine, even after all the years of their brilliant career.
And when they sit together, Ahsan put his head on Hendra's shoulder😭🥰 You're right it was like a Scorsese's silent movie. I've got lots of support and respect for these two legends.

after rewatching the match, i realized soh ignored his coach most of the time. he went back to court when his coach hasn't finished talking. overall chia shows better attitude, shouting is okay, but giving fist to opponent like what soh did is not okay

However, I'll give my highest credit to the Indonesian pair, it's not because I'm an Indonesian, but the Indonesian pair went through the final with Hendra Setiawan got injured in the semifinal match, I'm not expecting that the Indonesian pair would win the match in the final, it's not because I doubt their ability and their experiences but because of the injury I thought the Malaysian pair have got a huge opportunity to win the match... eventually the Indonesian pair eager to win the it, the Indonesian pair manage and try to control the overall match after losing the 1st game and yashh I agree of what Gill Clark said that every young player has to learn from this senior pair on every aspect in terms of psychological and physical...

Di skor 9-7 set ketiga, terjadi rally yang sangat menyulitkan Malaysia. Smash dan dropshot bisa dikembalikan Malaysia. Mereka bahkan menempatkan bola ke belakang hingga terjadi kebingungan di Hendra dan Ahsan tentang siapa yang akan ambil pengembalian tersebut. Kebingungan itu menghasilkan bola tinggi yang enak skali buat di smash oleh Malaysia. Bola mengenai badan Ahsan.
Skor menjadi 9-8.
Komentator berpendapat bahwa rally ini akan menjadi momentum buat kebangkitan Malaysia yang akan leading setelah point tersebut.
Saya setuju dengan komentator karena biasanya jika pada suatu rally, lawan diserang bertubi-tubi namun justru lawan mendapatkan winning point, maka lawan akan makin percaya diri dan penyerang justru down mentalnya.
Namun ramalan ini tidak terbukti karena Hendra Ahsan tetap fokus dan tidak buyar dengan kehilangan satu poin tersebut. Hendra Ahsan tetap fokus dan melupakan kehilangan poin tersebut. Hasilnya justru di titik tersebut, Hendra Ahsan justru mulai memimpin jauh.
Dari 9-8 menjadi 11-8, lalu 12-9, 13-10, 16-10, 18-11.

Indonesia gives the Malaysian no chance to Attack at all on the rubber. Their flat play and serve return is so awesome that they almost didn't lift at all. Malaysian should have close it on second set. Good run for the young lads. It's nice to see the coach there for them, even though they are independent players.
that's what makes ahsan/setiawan so special, they always so dominant when it comes to service situation and their placement of the shuttle is so good that it's really hard for the opponent to make ahsan/hendra lift.
The reason they becomes indie Players is "kuota ticket". Nasional team PELATNAS only send 4 player each discipline. So, they can give their ticket to layer 5. They never get rejected nor degradation. They still trained & coached by the same person in the same hall. They are so highest respectfull from all the national team players. It proofed by the title KAPTEN for Hendra.

Give credit to Ahsan... He did his best to cover his injured partner (even tho Setiawan is not totally lazy because of the injury). His smash is a clever one that it can help Setiawan at the net. You can't just attack your partner without smart plan.

This final match is meaning so much deeper for Indonesian badminton fans. Indeed. How desperate after losing two last semifinal matches and kinda not too much optimistic due to KoHend's injury, but this living legend pair prove that smart tactic (thanks to coach Herry IP for sure) and vast experience are two main keys become the winner. What a remarkable history, The Daddies. We are Indonesian badminton fans are very proud of you and as a proof that MD is the strongest sector we have, and hopefully it can trigger the motivation for other sectors.
No fairy-tale ending for Malaysian young guns Chia and Soh who despite winning the first game by a wide 21-11 margin, were outgunned by seasoned campaigners Ahsan and Setiawan who smashed their way 21-14 and 21-12 to victory. Doubles is all about who attacks wins, as the Malaysians forgot their winning ways and were beaten into submission.
Dude, I think its merely because the malaysian duo couldnt handle the front and half court balls from Setiawan.
At first set, setiawan still try to adjust his gameplay with his right calf injury. That's why the malaysian won it relatively easy.
But when the second set start, setiawan already find his rythm of play. And the malaysian start to play under pressure. They couldnt get out of the pressure. Their points were always behind the indonesian
Yes ahsan and setiawan are old. But ahsan still has the powerfull smash, and setiawan still has the deadliest net play.
To beat ahsan/setiawan you have to play the way kevin/gideon did it on daihatsu indonesia masters 2019 final.
But I gotta admit, the malaysian duo is a good pair, they just need to practice more on their flat drives and the ability to read the opponents gameplay.

This match is very touching for us (indpnesians) even for all people in the world. especially during Semi Final. very dramatic, very moved, very sad, and very worried because Hendra suffered an injury even though he finally won. actually for us, this All England drama started with the defeat of the Minion, the fall of other Indonesian players, Hendra's injury, Melati Jordan's defeated points and Fajar Rian's defeated points which were too stifling where they were only one step away, but all paid complete by Ahsan / Hendra with his victory. and three consecutive wins for Koh Herry IP at All England as a coach. we are proud! very proud ... and I'm sure Ahsan Hendra is a good person, who must have forgiven his enemy. whatever their mistakes. #terimakasihhendraahsan LOVE YOU DADDIES!!!! A good experience for Chia/Soh. Despite their loss, they played very well in this tournament (beat Astrup/Rasmussen, Liu/Zhang, and Alfian/Ardianto respectively), and they faced Ahsan/Setiawan in final and got a good lesson from this match. I hope they will improve and being a top class MD pair in future.

At the last 2 points I believe, when the audio was suddenly cut off, I thought I was watching some kind of silent, Martin Scorsese movie. It's kinda weird, but kinda awesome at the some time. You can only guess how the players must have felt, the emotion and the tense atmosphere of the game and the whole stadium. It's kinda accidentally brilliant that way.
And of course congrats to Ahsan/Setiawan. Definitely still have some fire in the engine, even after all the years of their brilliant career.

after rewatching the match, i realized soh ignored his coach most of the time. he went back to court when his coach hasn't finished talking. overall chia shows better attitude, shouting is okay, but giving fist to opponent like what soh did is not okay
