I'ts great to see young people so enthusiastic about watch making but also aware of dificulties and sacrifices ti be made on the way to Stardom! Best wishes to everybody @ Akrivia!
I really mean it when I say that you are the best watch channel on youtube. You have great insider access but you still produce excellent unbiased videos, instead of pandering to brands. Keep up the good work.
As i mentioned before I love this sort of indepth videos on the craft. I can't thank you enough for giving insight in this. It is very inspiring to know that it is actually possible to make something from scratch. Sometimes you forget this in this hightech world of CNC, lasercut and 3D-print world. And this sort of videos brings one back. Thanks again!!
One of the greatest American independent watchmakers is in Oregon. Keaton Myrick works in Sisters Oregon. Looks to be 2 and a half hours drive from Portland.
Thanks Marc, for the great video. I love Akriva watches and Rexhep is a very cool and modest genius. I had several conversations with him in the last two Basel, wonderful and knowledgable guy. Wish him all the best in the future, and I hope someday I will be able to get one of his watches.
It is really really cool to see today people using those hand operated machine. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate a top of the line 5 axis (or more) CNC machine. There is a time and place for everything. But to see the old machines still in use, that is just amazing. As on operator you really have to develop that fingerspitz gefühle. Today that is rare.
I am pretty sure, that he still gets the movement parts from an outside partner using CNC. Nothing wrong with that. Roger Smith uses CNC and Dufour got his movement parts for the Simplicity from outside CNC as well.
Have heard this name many many times in various watch discussions but it was quite surprising to meet this young gentleman who actually started quite early. And what is interesting is to know about his future vision which I am sure a very positive decision. No matter how many watches Rolex makes every year but the demand of handmade watches will grow more and more over time. Thanks Marc for presenting one of the most valued persons in present watch making and well expecting part 2 with more of his creations.
I hope Mr Rexhepi will be able to balance the inevitable growth with doing what he loves. So different from the corporate crap we got used to accept as the basic element of watchmaking. Great video.
And you hit a good point and one that illustrates very nicely how right he is about his vision: he’s organized in a way which is comfortable for him and his team resulting in a maximum production capacity he knows and doesn’t want to go beyond. I find this admirable in a world where eternal growth is seen as the norm
Akrivia is a Greek word that means precision. I enjoyed this tour and i am really happy to see that there are still people out there keeping this craftsmanship alive and create Art pieces
Oh men how amazing is this video?! Wow this craftmanships is incredible and unique!! I can't wait to see the next video talking about the case! Thank you so much for sharing all this beauty!!!
Consistent home runs on the video content. Rexhep is a cool cat and the watches are immaculate. The symmetry of the CC's movement is just a work of art
Not to take away from the great watch brands that use very high tech cnc machines but I have a deeper appreciation and love for these types of high-end time pieces made the old way w/ lathes and hand tools from the past. Its the reason I love old Pocket Watches from both the U.S and Switzerland w/ such beautiful movements , as Hamilton's cal. 922 & 923 or Cortebert"s 618 which Rolex and Panerai used. Therers so many others!
What a great video. Super cool content. Always love your videos. I always watch your channel on the tv and can not comment there. First time to respond here. In November I was in Geneva for the auctions. I saw the guys walking around in the city during to the auctions to meet people, check watches at the viewing days etc and I also passed by their workshop. They are really passionate and they fit in the romantic idea of true craftsmanship. The shop is located in a beautiful part of the city. The whole shop breaths craftmanship. Their watches are really stunning. For me personally it is still out of my league, so I felt a bit shy walking by their shop as a true fan boy. I didn't want to waste their precious time by doing some small talk. For me this is as a good as it gets when you consider independent watchmaking. And these guys are very humble and kind.
I have so much respect for this guy and I wish this brand the very best for the future. The timepieces are looking unique and high in quality. Thank you for presenting. I like zu see some new faces in this old market
Fascinating video! It seems more of building a work of arte that at the end is a very practical machine .......a watch! A video about the watches of watchmakers might be interesting.
And this video is why I love watchestv.com !Those dudes making those watches are rockin’ it. Oddly, I am really attracted to the Chronometre Contemporain. I need to visit this atilier. I would love to support Akrivia.
Top notch content & production... Marc, how about some short interviews with celebrities (preferably women) talking about their favorite watch designs and then show them some designers they may not be aware of...
The video is amazing, i have watched it like 10 times (I'm really not kidding). But when will the second episode come about the case making process? Much love
Thank you for these wonderful walkthroughs. This may be a stupid question but... Can you heat-blue a whole watch case? That, I think, would look amazing.
You indeed can, look for instance of how De Bethune does it, really cool stuff, here's a link to a nice video we did about them: ruclips.net/video/BcDcXhou6AA/видео.html and this one too: ruclips.net/video/D5vd_iKl9nY/видео.html Hope you will enjoy this
I've heard the name Akrivia a few times but now it has meaning! You've really outdone yourself with the last two videos. You're getting close to the real "insides" of the watch industry and taking us along which most channels don't/can't do. Your style is simple and sincere , up close and personal (as they used to say) Do you know where he's from? Albania/Kosovo?
Great video, as with the others, I do love the walkthroughs. Noticed he has a Schaublin lathe, very nice indeed. But it was interesting that he started out sub-contracting his parts to now beginning to make them in house. It's easier to control quality I know and you can usually produce parts cheaper, but I was wondering what his reason was. Cost of machine tools perhaps (because they're so expensive) or is it just a change of principle as he's progressed?
I'm jealous of your neighbourhood, what a beautiful place.
Indeed sweet ;)
I'ts great to see young people so enthusiastic about watch making but also aware of dificulties and sacrifices ti be made on the way to Stardom! Best wishes to everybody @ Akrivia!
I totally agree with you 👍

And it's really nice to see that this is carried by this fresh and young generation of watchmaker! Thanks for the comment
I love these videos. I’m in Portland Oregon and I’ve never seen the people or machines in real life who are behind the timepieces I admire
Very nice to hear and we really love making these, so hopefully we'll have plenty of other ones to share with you throughout the year!!

dimman77 oh I know exactly where that it. Hmmm my birthday is coming up might have to visit there
And that's indeed very interesting and would love to discover this too! Thanks
TheWATCHES.tv sounds awesome 😎
Wonderful video (again!). The chronomètre contemporain is one the most beautiful watch ever, and I really admire his approach.
Thanks Marc, for the great video.
I love Akriva watches and Rexhep is a very cool and modest genius.

You are very welcome and this is indeed the kind of watchmaking we love showcasing and corresponds really to my tastes!
Magnificent watchmaking! Rexhep is an upcoming star -- a true watchmaking genius.
With a very inspiring spirit!!
Great video. He’s humble but enthusiastic. What’s cool guy with a great team and shop
Thanks and you’re absolutely right
Fantastic! Thank you for this
Most welcome
Thankyou so much for this. This is really what I pictured watchmaking to be. What a great company. And shows why the $ is well deserved.
Happy that you liked it and yes this set up is not a cliché either ;) just the way it is! Best to you

Excellent as usual mark one of the very best watches made...... Viva Akrivia ❤️
Thanks so much and very glad you enjoyed this one!
Love these 'walkthrough' videos...so informative. After watching i'm always left thinking "how lucky you guys are to live in Switzerland".
Thanks and makes us even more happy to open these doors and share it with you!
Amazing video Marc, always a pleasure to listen to Rexhep
Really nice guy and we'll hopefully discover more in the future!
I absolutely love your walkthroughs and this one is no exception. Great intro too.
Thanks so much and yes this time we could do this amusing intro, logistically speaking, wasn't too complicated to get there ;)
Very inspiring indeed. I personally enjoyed. I wish Marc and Rexhep all the best.
That's nice, thanks a lot!

I find it very meaningful and very promising!
These videos are always so amazing.
Thanks and love making them 👍😉
Thank you for sharing
Thanks and more than welcome, we love doing those!!
An amazing video! Rexep and his team of young watchmakers are an inspiration.
Yes, totally!!!

Amazing watches they make. Big future.
Fabulous, not only Mr Rexhepi and his creations but also seeing legendary Mr Hagmann at work. Looking forward to the episode on case making.
Yes, really looking forward making it too 👍
@@watchestv-com Your show is so great because you get your participants and guests talking, and you cover so many different angles.

Yep you have the great vids.Thank you
Makes us happy, thanks a lot 🙏✌️
This video really justifies the reasoning and pricing behind owning an independent piece. Thanks for the walkthrough.
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing Marc. Akrivia is the next Journe in my humble opinion.💪
That's a good comparison 👍👍👍
Heard your podcast on Scottish watches, excellent and insightful 👍👍
“You can be happy, and if you’re not happy you can restart.” Applies to life in general really.
Loved the walk out walk in
Haha, thanks 🙏

Many thanks!
Really really love akrivia although I just learnt about them recently. But I became obsessed with them. I wish to get a piece from them soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

It's this crazy timepiece: ruclips.net/video/upO2-mZbRCc/видео.html Love it!!!

Mainly the flexibility that this offers them and obviously full control too
@@watchestv-com Yeah, makes sense, I don't suppose, at 30 watches a year, his sub-contractors would be making his parts a priority.
How do i purchase a watch?
Well it’s such a hot brand and quantities of watches produced are so scarce that it makes very hard to get one unfortunately
Amazing video. I absolutly adore his way of thinking and his genius. Can you ask him where did he get those lovely posters at 2:59 ? :D
This is the Chosen One!
