the great games in question would not hold up today, it’s just that since you were younger, they didn’t need to be amazing to be fun. I’m also a 2016 player, but saying the games were better is kinda ehh, like yes, there were less cashgrabs, but also less groundbreaking games. The platform overall was definitely better tho, no one’s gonna disagree with that.

2017 player here. I try my hardest to be optimistic about roblox, and I try my hardest to avoid the roblox hate bandwagon. Yes, Roblox does screw up from time to time, but this naïve pessimism just exaggerates it. Make the most of your damn time on Roblox. Try to have as much fun as possible. Oh this was so lovely. 2013 roblox player, I LOVE playing roblox with my friends and it's hard not to feel a little cynical when Roblox is making greedy choices (A recent thing they did is up the minimum price on certain UGC.. When the creators of that UGC were ALWAYS able to price it however they want, and made the choice they did because they wanted to proprotionate to what it was and how much work it took. There's no game economy aspect to it at all, nothing to do with limiteds, they just want to make more money off of work that isn't even THEIRS..) But there's plenty of amazing games on Roblox nowadays if you know where to look! I wrote a list of my favorites I like Regretevator (Fresh take on the elevator genre with lots of silly retro weirdcore fun) Dandy's World (Kind of like Flee The Facility against NPCs with lots of its own mechanics. Toony, cute, and a lovely touch offbeat) Pressure (A procedural Doors-like game inspired by Doors and games off Roblox like SCP breach, Ironlung, and Ultrakill. Doors walked so this game could run! It expands on mechanics in doors a way that makes it so much more interesting and replayable) Find The Markers (Not as flashy as the other stuff on this list, but very cute and if you like solving puzzles and the occasional obby, this could be for you!) Blocktale Adventures (SUPER nostalgic turn-based RPG, first game I've played that ACTUALLY gave me nostalgia for playing old games on the internet as a kid. Extremely charming.) Kaiju Paradise (A furry PVP game set in a breached labsite! The community's kind of nuts and if you don't enjoy seeing crazy people in chat sometimes KP might not be for you, but I find the PVP so fun!) Project Afternight (A RoFNF rhythm game, and the best in the genre I've played. The settings and GUI customization are very indepth and you unlock cosmetics just by doing songs! NEW TO ROFNF PLAYERS need to go into settings, turn ON custom scroll speed, and set it to 2. A lot of RoFNF games have the default at a level meant for experienced players, for some reason..) In Plain Sight 2 (A wacky team-based game that goes round by round. Reminds me of older roblox games like Framed, its very lighthearted though) SCP: Site Roleplay (A game that feels like some sorta genre halfling. There's not really any goals other than survive, do your role's tasks, or screw around. But I've had a LOT of funny moments in this game. It's especially great with friends.) And Super Bomb Survival's not new at all, but I recently revisited it and it was fun! Roblox themselves might be making some screwy greedy choices, but the community is as bright and beautiful as ever.
the user ad removal actually made me pretty sad , i found one of my favorite roblox games from them (Destined Ascension) in like 2018-2019. i still play that game in that day , if i never clicked on that ad , i would have never enjoyed roblox a lot. i made a lot of friends in it too.

As someone who just sort of watches the game get worse but also advance in features, I feel like the community has just been polarized from the unaware, new, and generally obliviously happy players (there's nothing wrong with that btw), and the "og", long-time and old players just spitting shit everywhere. It's just the fact that roblox sometimes comes up with GODAWFUL ideas... Like, for starters, Roblox made a new death sound that no one is happy with. That billion dollar company could probably afford the oof sound like it was nothing, but then they stated that they had copyright issues... Then, they removed almost every classic face and replaced them with dynamic ones, which I am pretty sure nobody asked for. Roblox even made a promise that they won't remove the classic faces... Even some classic clothes got removed from the catalog. I feel bricky 2 was literally removed and for what. There are barely any classic things to wear. Welp that are my only complaints but yeah, sometimes I do have fun.
The classic clothing getting deleted is so annoying, two of the four 2d sets from the Metaverse Champions event (which are pretty good quality too) are practically gone now since roblox felt like deleting the matching shirts (and with that the one really cool looking completely free avatar I came up with during RB Battles Season 2 is essentially gone now too, gonna have to buy a reupload if I want it back, anyway sorry for the tanget at the end there lmao)

2010 user here things may look bleak now but I'm sure it's going to get better. things get rough or disappointing but just dont treat it like a game but more of a building platform, this mentality has helped me more after seeing the good and bad updates from the platform. the ones who make ROBLOX good is the users. the reason why things may be bad is becuse we made it this way not ROBLOX itself but us the users. To make ROBLOX a better place a person must first choose to not be a player but a maker of games. encouraging more players to make good games.

2018 player here, I do really miss a bunch of the old stuff even though back then I was way younger and didn't care about Builders Club, Egg Hunts and all dat. Just makes me sad when I look at the front page and see all these low-effort cashgrab games whose sole purpose is to make money through exploitative techniques. Most of the games and experiences that are genuinely worth your time just get overshadowed by everything else. This is why Roblox is viewed as a "kids' game." When the majority of a game's mature audience constantly gets fed with sh*t, they start to distance themselves from the game, which results in their opinions and views on the game changing for the worse. It sucks even more when you consider the current state of modern gaming and how small indie games are receiving more positivity and support than full AAA games made by, keep this in mind, *professionals.* In all seriousness though, I actually really like this video! It's funny, creative and no doubt effective at getting your point through. Keep this up man! I have a strong hatred towards some Roblox documentary channels because they ALWAYS constantly slander Roblox as if like Roblox intentionally added bad updates to purposely destroy their player base. Sure, Roblox has had its ups and downs, but at the end of the day you should just enjoy Roblox as it is. The bad and lazy documentary channels are the ones destroying Roblox imo.

2010 user here things may look bleak now but I'm sure it's going to get better. things get rough or disappointing but just dont treat it like a game but more of a building platform, this mentality has helped me more after seeing the good and bad updates from the platform. the ones who make ROBLOX good is the users. the reason why things may be bad is becuse we made it this way not ROBLOX itself but us the users. To make ROBLOX a better place a person must first choose to not be a player but a maker of games. encouraging more players to make good games.

2018 player here, I do really miss a bunch of the old stuff even though back then I was way younger and didn't care about Builders Club, Egg Hunts and all dat. Just makes me sad when I look at the front page and see all these low-effort cashgrab games whose sole purpose is to make money through exploitative techniques. Most of the games and experiences that are genuinely worth your time just get overshadowed by everything else. This is why Roblox is viewed as a "kids' game." When the majority of a game's mature audience constantly gets fed with sh*t, they start to distance themselves from the game, which results in their opinions and views on the game changing for the worse. It sucks even more when you consider the current state of modern gaming and how small indie games are receiving more positivity and support than full AAA games made by, keep this in mind, *professionals.*
In all seriousness though, I actually really like this video! It's funny, creative and no doubt effective at getting your point through. Keep this up man! I've been thinking about "reviving" my channel and making video essays of my own, and you're gonna be one of my first inspirations! 😁
