Its not gender bend. They are just well clean groomed males who wear makeup for their performances cos they are artist..and also kpop compose of not only music but makeup n stylish clothings. You will not see them with makeup in their normal daily lives. U should watch their variety show such as bon voyage. All neutral. Also some of them has androgynous features and they are not afraid to dress up looking feminine. Basically in south korea its normal for male kpop idols to look more softer than masculine for some. Since u are new you may find its puzzling but once u dive into kpop or bts you will get used seeing all these. 👍 try react to mic drop, ON or fake love mv.
Falls more into metrosexual category. Interesting how different cultures have such distinct perception on masculinity. I guess the concept is a construct based on social norm (which also varies).
@OniKaShi Hi OniKaShi, I welcome your question and happy to share my perspective and understanding of the concept. The term metrosexual means "a heterosexual urban man who enjoys shopping, fashion, and similar interests traditionally associated with women or homosexual men." so I guess you are right to an extent. The term isn't a type of label we use to specify someone's sexual orientation or gender but rather a look or behavior of a person as you can see in the definition, something that is used to describe a fashion or style that may be is often associated with opposite gender or what may be perceived as feminine in some cultures (This is where the word sexual comes in to play). I hope this answers your question :)
Having said that, people in the entertainment industry is I guess forced to carry out this "look". In many cases not voluntarily but as it has became a norm to serve the customer's expectations. They are a "product" trying to sell these ideas which means how they portray themselves is a reflection of what people want to see. It's same as how we expect people having certain jobs to be in their uniforms which has nothing to do with one's masculinity or femininity.
BTS identify as men. They just don't care when it comes to "gender norms" when it comes to clothes, dancing or whatever and they strongly go against "toxic masculinity". Okay but I see others have left comments like this too lol. BTS also don't keep to just one genre or style. This is actually one of their brightest concepts for a song. Please check out "ON kinetic manifesto film" or "Black Swan" or "MicDrop", you'll get to see their rougher side.
That makes sense! and hmmm okay I keep getting suggested those songs. I think it'd be cool to be able to compare this to a "rougher side" as you say. Thank you! 🙌
@@BiggerThanMeTV If you aren't familiar with Korean culture, they are also very different from Americans in terms of cultural norms for skinship between men. It is not uncommon for male friends to hold hands, for example, in a totally nonromantic way in Korea. Men are much touchier with each than we perceive as normal. I think it's nice...I wish more men felt free to be openly affectionate with each other.
I still wouldn't really consider those rough. Their actual hip hop side like their side/diss tracks are what I consider rougher. Black swan is just a darker concept but it's soft. Their cyphers 1-4 give a different side of them that a lot of first fans don't see and it's a good place to start.
The song dynamite is bts first ever full English song . They made this to give happiness and joy because of the things in the world right now . You should get into bts music . Their currently not just biggest kpop group but biggest group and boyband in the world right now . Bts is huge because they separate themselves from a lot of artists these days that only talk about love ( no offense to anyone ) Bts uses their music to spread positivity , connect with many people and uplift people / tackle social issues and challenge stereotypes . They tackle topics such as mental health , suicide ( taboo topics in Korea ) , anxiety, bullying , corrupt government , oppression , Broken academic system , bullying , self love , self care , struggles , motivation etc .
Let me know if you need any song suggestions , they can do many genres and styles form hip hope RnB , pop , edm , trap, rock , jazz , blues , etc. their roots are more hip hop / rap but diverse over the years .
LOL no BTS are not gender bending. If anything, it’s just all male kpop idols are well groomed in South Korea. They care about their beauty. It’s also part of the kpop world. During performances, photo shoots, music videos, they often wear make up mostly minimal or clothing that most men wouldn’t dare wear.
Kookminseok I used to Be Confused & shocked about that concept of the korean pop Culture...but now, i have learned to like & appreciate it...Thanks to BTS!! 👍💜
It's korean culture. That's the way korean men take care of themselves. My ex boyfriend is korean; he wears make up and very fashion forward. I'm a girl and I care less about my looks compared to him. Looks are everything to the koreans. (I meant it in a good way).
They are all guys but jimin has soft features. They may term it gender bending because of there willingness to wear colorful cloths and earrings but no more then someone like bad bunny
I’ve been listening to kpop since high school . 24 years old now . What I love about BTS is they are UNLIKE any other artists / group I’ve ever encounter not just in kpop but stands out from American artists. While most music nowadays is about love , sex drugs , toxic love , bts uses their music to spread Positivity. They use their music and platform to tackle topics such as mental health, suicide. Which are TABOO TOPICS in South Korea . But needs to be addressed and taken serious. Other topics they tackle are importance of self love , self care , motivation , following your dreams , your empowerment , women empowerment , Koreans corrupt academic system and politics , government oppression , the generation differences between young people and older adults, etc . They want everyone to understand music should not be judge based on race , skin color , race, religion , language. Etc. as RM (leader of bts ) mention “Music has the power to transcend and translate messages “ Other things we love about them is their devotion to projects such as charity work , inspired many fans to create their own charity projects and naming them after the group members : projects include planting trees, donating to children hospital , helping out pet adoption agencies , can food drives and many more . You have no clue how special BTS is to their fans. Bts also donated 1million dollars to black lives matter and in just 24hrs , their fanbase the “ARMY “ ( bts fandom name ) donated 1million to BLM. Raising over 2million dollars . Btw , majority of bts fans are actually over 20. I have friends who are in their 20s-50s are into bts. They have a very diverse fanbase .
I'm 41 and kicking myself for not finding them sooner. Heard about them a couple years ago in passing, but my first song from them was Blood Sweat & Tears back in May. They've done a lot to make all the craziness in the world more bearable.
This song is not their usual thing, but they wanted to offer it to brighten and energize us during these tough times. If you listen and watch their past songs, you'll be really surprised. I recommend reacting to songs they are well known for like the music video for Mic Drop (Steve Aoki Remix), Fake Love, Not Today, ON Kinetic Manifesto Film, Black Swan.
They are men. Wearing makeup and jewellery doesn't make them less men. Toxic masculinity is dead. Some of them have recorded English stuffs: - RM raps in multiple English colabs incl "Champion" with Fall Out Boys. - JK has recorded multiple English covers and sang "We don't talk anymore" with Charlie Puth on a live stage. - JK and RM are on Steve Aoki's "Waste It on Me". - JK and Jimin are on Lauv's "WHO". - Taehyung has a full solo song in English. Coincidentally that song hold the iTunes record for having the most #1s (116 countries). Taylor Swift has 0 songs with 100. BTS has 7 songs with 100 and more. This demonstrates their global popularity. So I guess their fans don't mind their makeup at all.
I think you're a rather beautiful man yourself and there's nothing genderbending abt that. It's just different cultures. East Asian men usually prioritize their skincare, hair and fashion while the Americans tend to lean toward the more rugged, facial hair type of masculinity. Nothing wrong with either kind but Asians normally get mocked and insulted for their preference which is really toxic. Anyway really enjoy your respectful reaction, please check out their older stuff too, you got a lot of great recs!
Absolutely! I didn't even think about it in that moment, that it's part of their culture. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for your kind response! 😁 and thank you for watching! I'll have to check out some more of their stuff
Dynamite is their song that has the least choreo. Wait until you check out their other MV. And if you’re in to dancing. You can check out their dance practices. Thanks for your reaction.
please don't judge them if you don't know what they have had to go through and endure to be there. first listen to their music. -Black Swan -ON -OUTRO: TEAR -UGH! -DNA -FIRE -MIC DROP (whit Steve Aoki) -Pied Piper.
@@BiggerThanMeTV You may also watch another "ON" Official MV after ON Kinetic manifesto. Other MVs like Not Today, Fake Love, Fire, Dope, Danger, Save Me Official MVs.
"I used to date a girl very similar to......." I was laughing so hard!!! That's one of the main vocals and dance, Jimin. He is an expert at martial arts.
These are men. Overly talented men. Hot sexy men. MEN who sing, dance, rap, write, produce and play instruments. They are artists who aren't stuck in one genre'. They are always bringing something NEW to the table. Men, who with this song DYNAMITE are bringing a little hope & happiness to their legion of fans. Also, they write deep meaningful lyrics & bars that will slay your heart & soul. I love a new groove and BTS is always working on NEW sounds. I know its hard for we Americans to get that there is something NEW & FUN out there in the world, that didn't come from America. Even I admit BTS are beautiful. Stunning! prettier than a lot of women. I personally like the fact that they take care of themselves. So many guys look scruffy and dirty but they think they look cool. Only a few guys can actually pull scruffy off. I like clean looking men. I also like BTS's Drip. Their fits are always on point. I'm really hoping this wave being well groomed & their style catches on in America. Also, the one you said looks like someone you dated, holds 3 blackbelts. Last FYI: don't use hair color to figure out their names or you will never know who is who. They love to change it up. I hope you will react to more of their music. Like I said earlier, It's something new, fun and exciting, not the same ol, same ol.
BTS has a looooong list of discography. any genre you like, they have it. and you will love their songs. their MVs has english subtitles. thanks for reacting to this. 💜
@@BiggerThanMeTV they also have dance practices in their official YT channel. youll be amazed of their intricate steps and great energy while dancing. you can also watch BTS' documentaries to know them better, their history and past struggles. BTS music saved me, for real! im so grateful. they always sing about positivity, loving yourself. their lyrics are well thought of. and most are always have a deeper meaning in it
Thanks for reaction. In South Korean culture men actually take care of their skin, grooming and appearance which isn’t a bad thing. In KPop it’s normal to wear performance makeup, no different from other performers in the West..and the metal bands in the 80’s wore much more makeup and people thought that was cool. BTS also incorporates Carl Jung’s analysis on human individuation in their concepts, and the anima/animus (masculine/feminine) aspects exists in all of us individually, so we actually don’t need to label ourselves by his/her gender necessarily. BTS has a wide discography of music and covers different genres: hip hop, rap, R&B, pop, rock, edm, trap, latin, jazz, folk/alternative, classical, and even country! They’re very versatile, and have something for everyone. They are involved with writing and producing their songs too. Their lyrics are really deep and cover topics like socio-political issues, mental health awareness, self-love, psychology, philosophy, literature. Their live performances are on another level too. Like Michael Jackson level amazing. They also tied the Beatles’ for most #1 albums in a year and beat Adele’s 5 year record of most #1’s on iTunes and broke one of Michael Jackson’s 36 year chart record. “Dynamite” is very poppy made to be radio friendly. And it’s a song BTS said they wanted to release to give positive vibes to their fans and people during quarantine. It’s just all about good vibes, not made to be too serious. I gravitate towards BTS’ rap, R&B, and indie/rock tracks but can’t help dance to Dynamite-it’s such a mood. It’s actually not the style they’re most known for. BTS is made of 3 rappers (RM, Suga, JHope) and 4 singers (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook) and started out as hip hop group and 2 of their 3 rappers were well known in underground rap before they joined BTS. If you want to get a real taste of their range, check out these songs-they go hard! “ON Kinetic Manifesto Film”, “Mic Drop”, “Not Today”, “Fake Love”, “Daechwita”, “Black Swan” and “Fire” MV’s. BTS is on another level compared to other boy groups since BTS sing, rap and dance really well (boy bands of past did not rap or skilled dancers -BTS are triple threat next level! BTS are the real deal.
Just wanted to add, BTS are 7 very talented beautiful men with golden hearts and heroes to those they have saved. To ARMY around the world, they are legends of our time. I couldn't help smiling when you pointed out Jimin ( the guy who reminded you of your ex ) with a flash in your eyes. We call that the Jimin effect. Jimin is known to catch many people's eyes, straight or gay, man, woman and child.😄
They're very talented! hahahaha yeah I've heard about that in the comments. From an American perspective, he has a lot of feminine qualities. Or qualities that a lot of women here in the states, want to have lol so it just caught me off guard a little bit 😂
Lol, they are all men, they identify as men. They are just really pretty which is super common in South Korean entertainment. Historically Korea has very strict standards for beauty: for both men and women. Here in America, strict standards for beauty really are only imposed on women, but if you go to Korea, you will see men on ads for makeup, plastic surgery, and things like that. My tour guide actually called BTS "plain compared to other K-Pop idols" when I went there. I was shocked!
The fact that u actually replied to 99% comments tells a lot about u.. Ovio in a positive way😇. Haha.. Thnkyou for reacting to bts.. It was a really good reaction👍
nah they're all men they're just beautiful. south korean culture is heavily influenced by looks. you gotta have beautiful skin, eyes, nose, face shapes, figures all that jazz , especially if you're in the entertainment industry. if you look at their entertainment industry you'll see everyone looks clean and flawless. if you only understand american culture then you're in for culture shock when diving into "kpop". thanks for the reaction!
As far as the androgynous vibes, BTS has been saying f*ck gender norms for a while. So, they're all definitely men, but they are comfortable messing with expectations when it comes to gender. They've said don't worry if clothes are "women's" clothes or "men's" clothes. If you like something and it makes you happy to wear it then wear it. Another thing to remember is that kpop is more than just a genre, it's a concept. Everything to do with a song, the music, lyrics, clothing and makeup, set, video, choreography etc.... is intentional and part of what makes kpop kpop. They've had a lot of concepts through the years and the gender expression is all over the place. From being very masculine and tough looking in videos like No More Dream and N.O to being very androgynous and softer in videos like Blood Sweat & Tears and Boy With Love. This was actually pretty middle of the road for them in that respect.
@@BiggerThanMeTV enjoy the trip down the rabbit hole. I fell in in May of this year and I still haven't come up for air. Having a blast though! After a few music videos to get a feel for them as artists there is a TON of content that's not music video related that helps get to know their personalities and who they are as people. There are "who is bts?"posts that fans put together that can be helpful. There's a new one by xCeleste (no relation) that's actually pretty good for a group overview and I'm sure you've already got people suggesting more. ARMY (BTS fans) LOVE sharing info about our guys!
All BTS members are cisgender males and identify as men. I've usually heard the expression gender bender used on manga, to refer to people who dress as their opposite gender in order to pass in-cognito as a different identity, it's usually a plot devise in romantic comedies... That's clearly not what is happening here, but I guess you could say that Korean idols try to challenge traditional notions of gender expression, not gender identity though, but just being more free and non comforming when it comes to the dressing code and self-expression. This is more of a cultural phenomenon of the new generation, not really something that only BTS does. I hope I explained this well.
We actually have no confirmation that they are all cisgender. It may even be ciscentric to assume so. They don't say specifically where they are on the spectrum of sexuality, and we don't ask. It really doesn't matter. :)
They're all men, obviously. It's just that korean standards of beauty are somewhat different than what we westerners are used to. Men are so much softer and kinder, even boyish-like shy. I quite like it actually.
Oh no....can this be a potential “jimin” catch once again?? 👍😜 You’re eyes are beautiful by the way 😍 hope u react to their other songs suggested by the rest of the comments...they’re 🔥
Well... By the reaction I saw there might be a probability. But if there are new reactions to BTS we will be able to tell. Let us wait a little bit and see what happens. I loved this reaction to BTS - open minded, respectful and positive.
Such a sweet reaction! Thank you so much. It is greatly appreciated. You will find so many people who aren't open minded enough to enjoy it and they're constantly criticizing BTS, but you were so kind. 💜 I would definitely recommend checking out more. BTS have become the most popular artists out there. They have inspiring and meaning lyrics, crazy dance skills, and the sweetest of personalities! You should react to On, Mic Drop, Blood Sweat and Tears, Not Today as well as other videos like Who is BTS and Carpool Karaoke with BTS to learn more about them as people :)
Thank you thank you!!! It was different for me, because I don't listen to this genre of music. But I'm still respectful to their craft! They're soooo talented!!! Thank you for your kind response 🥰
Kpop is sort of a combination between music, dancing, visuals, fashion, hair and make up. Koreans have great skin care, too. You should watch On Kinetic Manifesto Film music video.
This was great! I think you’ll really like music from BTS’s rap line! There are 3 rappers in this group and they are amazing! Check out :outro tear, Cypher 4...RM, JHope & suga also have mixtapes you can listen to!
Thank you for approaching this with an open mind. K-pop has no genre, so you can always find something you like. Want the most amazing rap? Try Daechwita by August D (Suga of BTS). Like R&B? Singularity. International beat? Idol. Trap? Mic Drop. Straight up awesome radio play? Fake Love. And don’t forget to turn on the cc’s.
Kim Namjoon aka RM is fluent in English He is self taught at the age of 14 or 13 from watching the show friends 3 times with Korean subs and he has an IQ of a 148. He co writes and co produces their songs, he is credited to 70 % of it. He’s also the main rapper and leader of the group which is were the phrase: “Kim Namjoon for President” was born. Also he’s just an amazing human being Pls react to RM being done with the members english Also he has the guy that come second, the one with the white jacket
Thank you for reacting to BTS! I enjoyed your reaction! They have great music. It’s not all as poppy as this, but some of it is. They’re a diverse group. I encourage you to check out more if you enjoyed the song! Such a wide discography. Btw, this is off topic, but you have really beautiful eyes. Thanks again! 😊
Good reaction. I'm a 50 yr/old BTS ARMY, just to let you know this isn't just kids who are fans. This song is not really representative of usual K-pop, it's really more individualized to help ARMY (BTS fans) and everyone in general to feel happier during these hard pandemic days. This song is American retro/disco/and very distinctly an homage to Michael Jackson (So. Many. Moves. Watch it again, you'll see them). They worked really hard on their English for this, so it's ok that you still detect their foreign accent, but just know that only RM (ice blue hair) is quite fluent in English. K-pop has variety (lots of 90s R&B/Hip Hop/ Rap, even some Jazz) and usually includes Korean and English (so have your subtitles on). BTS is not even "standard" K-pop, they stand out due to their often (usually) darker themes (mental health, self-love, psychological themes, interwoven stories between videos). I don't recommend Boy With Love from them for the moment, or else you'll think they're always in pastels singing pretty. They have a very rich history. For a better view of "standard" K-pop, I would recommend checking out Shinee's Countless. You will get more recommends from others, but that's a start. There are also K-pop bands, and from them I recommend Day 6 and N.Flying. Nice to meet you. New sub. Looking forward to your K-pop journey.
Thanx for reacting to BTS. As others have said, this video is not typical for BTS. They cross all genres, yes, but veery few of their songs are as light-hearted and poppy as this one. They released it because they knew their fans were going through some hard times. BTS is known for cinematic videos, complex choreography and meaningful lyrics. If you choose to react to more BTS videos be sure to put on the subtitles (cc button). btw, I watch a lot of asian dramas... You can invariably tell which actors are Koreans just by the skin care. They have the most fabulous skin care products of all time. When BTS were rookies, with the exception of Jin, they were not considered good-looking. Amazing what 7 years of good skin care will do for you.
Please react to more BTS!💜 Loved how respectable you were towards our boys! Army really appreciates it. They do all different types of genres and you’ll find something you’ll like for sure!!
Your reaction is exactly what BTS hoped would happen. They wanted this song to bring people some happiness and joy in difficult times. Thank you for your sweet reaction. It was fun to watch. It would also be fun to watch you walking down the street, listening to this song and swinging around light poles. haha Inspire others to find joy in music, regardless of the language!
IT WORKED!!! haha this song is very bright and positive! 😂😂😂😂 I'm a large man, I don't think I need to be spinning on any poles 😂🤣 but I can definitely still spread joy 🥰 Thank you for listening! I'm glad you enjoyed it 💕
You're impress! Just wait till you hear the other songs. Dynamic is not their usual kind of song. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. Get to know the boys by react to Who's BTS? Seven member of Bangtans.
Welcome to BTS world.. they are all men but there's so many men questions their sexuality after watching Jimin the one you said looks like the girl you dated.. actually there's a compilation video of that if you want to check it out💜
BTS are males that may seem feminine but they are just well groomed individuals that take care and look after themselves really well. They are my inspirations and my heros who saved my life back in 2014 with their song Boy In Luv which you should defo check out. All their songs have deeper meanings and messages that armys aka fans like me can relate to on a personal level. BTS are my happy place where i can always be happy and be myself
Thanks for being open mind I would love to see you reacting to BTS again. The Army did a great job explaining everything to you already. The one who looks like your ex is Jimin 😂 lets see if you recognize him in your next BTS reaction ( of course if you wanna do an other one ) they change their hair color alot so it's confusing for people who doesn't know them Lol. Thanks again 💜
Thank u for being open minded! I hope you check out other BTS songs like fake love, boy with luv, mic drop, blood sweat n tears, idol, singularity, etc. They are very versatile. Turn on CC for subtitle. BTS said Dynamite is for to uplift their fans and people mood due to covid. Thats why dynamite is fun and bright song.
Please react to BTS "On" manifesto film. You will really get to see what they can do, their sound, and their dancing. They have so much more as well. I think you would thoroughly enjoy it.
Hi Aaron! I just watched your reaction video of Agust D - Daechwita so I came here to see your first BTS music video. The only thing I want to say to you is there is a reason why the fans “Armys” love BTS and they are the biggest band in the world. I hope you will keep digging into their music and message to find out for yourself 💜
alot of "Idols" in S. Korea wear jewlery an makeup. They are all very "Male". But take excellent care of skin hair etc. When not filming they look natural. They have grew up together so like brother's. S. Korea has diff fashion.
BTS are not gender bender, they are 7 men but korean style has a tendency to not care about what gender clothes are. I remember reading somewhere that in Korea, if a style of clothing looks good on them it shouldn't matter if its mens ware or women's. If you are impressed by their dancing here you should see Blood Sweat and Tears, Dope, DNA their dancing is so in sync and the choreography is insane!
Hi. Thank you for the positive vibe reaction.😁 VERSATILITY is one of the words that I can describe BTS. I think you will enjoy MIC DROP or FIRE if you are into hip hop. ON - Kinetic Manifesto film and BLACK SWAN are their 2020 songs that also showcase their multifaceted skills. Have fun! 💜
Bts is not only K-Pop group anymoore, the are the biggest group in the world. Bts is 3 rappers and 4 vocalist, the write, produced, make beats and all dance. The have 4 nr 1 Albums at Billboard whid in 1 year, so the tied whid Beatles. Beacuse off the pandemic the cant do there concert tour, the had 36 Stadium concert all sold out. But the did an online concert that 750000 Armys paid for
Please check out other songs from them. They cover a wide variety of genres. Their b sides are amazing. I listen to their entire discography on a daily basis. Not because I'm a hardcore ARMY, but because the songs are great and the messages are deep. These guys really care and take pride in their work. I personally am OBSESSE Dwith Hip Hop Lover aka Hip Hop Lover and Danger at the moment. Their rap line has cyphers that are insane and their vocal line are the angles rivals.
Welcome to the rabbit hole- you will be come ARMY soon....It is a good warning...You grow to love them quickly. Find out who your biases are- Favorites in the group or OT-7 all of them. Which you will love them all. But one or two may stick out as your favorite that you can relate to. Mine is V and my bias wreckers are JK and Jimin. I have been a ARMY for 3 yrs and watch them everyday and listen to their 300 plus songs...you have only just begun. Watch out- ARMY is here all over the world. I live in NC.
They're definitely all men. They fit the Korean male beauty standards which favors what Americans would consider a pretty and androgynous look. An interest in skincare and makeup for males is pretty normal in Korea and is almost required for Kpop stars and actors.
Made me laugh when you said "give me a glass of milk and some cookies" because ironically enough the guy who was drinking milk in the beginning is named Jungkook and his nickname is "Kookie" 🤗
Korean idols could pull off any outfits. Their fashion styles are on point! They have to take care of their skin well to be an idol. Male idols are prettier than girls 🤩
Thank you for your reaction. If you decide to react to more BTS then you will need to turn on your cc for Lyrics/subtitles, since most of their songs are in Korean and English. BTS is not the typical kpop group. If fact their sound and music doesn't even fall in the kpop genre. We call it BTSpop since they do a wide variety of music. Looking forward to other BTS reactions.
Just think of them as men that didn't grow up with the western toxic masculinity. I wish more of the world could be like that. It doesn't matter if someone wears earrings or regards good fashion. But yes they are all very much proud men.
Originally, K-Pop refers to "a genre of popular music originating in South Korea", also known as 'gayo'. As time passed, K-Pop is more like a complete package of the artist, the music, the performance, the make up, the style, all integrated together. BTS genre is so vary, it covers not only k-pop but also some original ones. Korean used to say BTS was too westernized, while BTS are actually a perfect ambassador of the culture. They often perform using traditional concept. The way BTS embraced the whole world despite the different cultures, language, gender identity, thus creates another term: BTS-pop. Because BTS are more than just K-Pop. The song Dynamite, is not written by BTS. It's a song they intended to give to the world, to uplift the mood and to spread good vibe to the otherwise dull 2020. It's not BTS signature nor trade mark, but again, BTS is always trying something new. If you want to see BTS's songs that best represent BTS, ARMYs have given you suggestion, I saw some, LOL... Trust Armys. They know what's good. For an easier, friendly nudge, especially if you're an American, try MIC DROP, Steve Aoki's mix If you want to see some hardcore, check Daechwita, AgustD. Or Joke, RM. Cypher series. Ddaeng. Ugh. Into dance choreo? ON Kinematic Manifesto. You like cinematic stuff? ON the MV A romantic dude? Black Swan, any version. Want to see how good they really are? MMA 2018, MAMA 2018, MMA 2019, MAMA 2019. Live. Anyway, thank you for reacting! Good luck.
About them being pretty... yup, they are sooo beautiful. But also soooo men. Believe me Jungkookie might look soft as puppy but he can yeet you across the room like nothing. Oh and he has sleeve tattoes. Very muscular bod. And Jiminie has black belt on Taekwondo and is a master of Kendo. Namu, Jin, Suga, Hoba, they can be very intimidating :) Don't get fooled by their looks... I'm 44 y.o. mom, I know quality when I see one ...
They are not gender ending. They are men! BTS consists of 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. You should give ages of their songs a listen. They are 7 very talented individuals.
No no, bending, not ending lol (and that's just what i read, not what I think) but yes they're super talented! I'll have to check out some of their other work!
Bigger Than Me TV - I watched your new vid! Yes! It will get better and better once you actually get to know them, but it will take time. There are overwhelming amount of songs and videos of them you can react to. Their live performances are great as well.
You should absolutely react to THIS IS BTS INTRODUCTION TO BTS PART 1 after that you'll decide if you could continue reacting their videos or not. BTS deserve a lot of respect you'll see why.
Human beings in S.Korean society are in general well groomed, daily. It's the culture, it's been like this for thousand of years. Fast forward into 2020, S. Korean people are still very interested in their well being, physically and emotionally. Daily skin care, hair salons and fashions are not taboo for men. Everybody in the entertainment industry will use make up, most of the time it is minimal and for enhancement. American artists use it too. To wrap it up, make up is not exclusively for the KPop scene. And with the extra care of facial skin cleansing and nourishing, very little make up is needed. BTS members are 100% men. Their androgynous features look great to me. Korean ancient and modern artistry/society welcomes it. To be called pretty is not an insult.
Definitely all men. Just because they are gorgeous doesn't make them gender benders. All Kpop artists wear make-up. Male and female. Western artists all wore make-up especially in the 70 's and 80's, usually European
Can I just say, you are extremely handsome and your eyes are pretty. That aside, they do not gender bend. They all identify as men and they just wear makeup for work. Thats part of kpop industry. Also some of the members do have softer, delicate features. Jimin for sure. But that just makes him more beautiful and more attractive to me. He can be very sexy and domineering when he wants to be. He just isnt afraid to go against masculine standards set by the west. Its like that in Korea in general.
That makes sense! Thank you for that 😁
Falls more into metrosexual category.
@@BiggerThanMeTV Please check out BTS Mic drop. All BTS songs are really different 😂
They are all male. Korean Fashion is far above US fashion lol
lol I can dig it!
Yes, all male who are well groomed and their skincare is like no other.
Alexandra A W is this where male scaping came from?
@@jewleeb5138 perhaps. Koreans are known for best skincare products and regimen.
@@jewleeb5138 If you're talking about body hair, then no. Korean men don't typically have a lot of body hair.
You might want to check these recommendations out from Jimmy Fallon & James Corden shows... they performed these songs live there!
@@BiggerThanMeTV All their songs are great. These are banger's thus u get them suggested on repeat, lol.
Great reaction. Thanks for turning me onto this song. I've never listened to any K pop before either. Love it.
The song dynamite is bts first ever full English song . They made this to give happiness and joy because of the things in the world right now . You should get into bts music . Their currently not just biggest kpop group but biggest group and boyband in the world right now . Bts is huge because they separate themselves from a lot of artists these days that only talk about love ( no offense to anyone )
Bts uses their music to spread positivity , connect with many people and uplift people / tackle social issues and challenge stereotypes .
Glad you enjoyed! It was new for me too 🙌
Definitely!
Hi sweetie, BTS isnt quite what is kpop. There are many fans who love BTS but hate kpop. BTS is BTS. Glad you like this song 😊
For sure! They're doing great so keep doing whatever they're doing!
Although a few of them did do a genderbend photo shoot that had them in fish nets, lacy and skirts a few years ago... Hottest photos I've ever seen
Yeah I've noticed that too. Nothing wrong with doing whatever makes you feel better 🙏
They are all guys but jimin has soft features. They may term it gender bending because of there willingness to wear colorful cloths and earrings but no more then someone like bad bunny
Ahhh gotcha!
Etc. as RM (leader of bts ) mention “Music has the power to transcend and translate messages “
Other things we love about them is their devotion to projects such as charity work , inspired many fans to create their own charity projects and naming them after the group members : projects include planting trees, donating to children hospital , helping out pet adoption agencies , can food drives and many more .
From only hearing this one song, they're doing great things and putting out such positive energy! 🙌
I'm 41 and kicking myself for not finding them sooner. Heard about them a couple years ago in passing, but my first song from them was Blood Sweat & Tears back in May. They've done a lot to make all the craziness in the world more bearable.
I am a 51 yr old black man that listen to them.
I love them and I am 58!!!!

They're great!
If I’d had a boyfriend that looked like Jimin I wouldn’t have let him go! 😂😂😂 Great reaction! 👌🏻

Ahh okay for sure! I'll have to check them out 🙌😁
They are men. Wearing makeup and jewellery doesn't make them less men. Toxic masculinity is dead. Some of them have recorded English stuffs:
- RM raps in multiple English colabs incl "Champion" with Fall Out Boys.
They're doing great! I'll have to check out some of their other stuff 🙌
Wow great answer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊

That makes a lot of sense! I didn't even think about it like that. Thank you for watching and your kind response!!! 🙌
For sure! It's definitely in their culture!
lol plain is nice... I'd say 4 of them didn't fit Korean beauty standards in the beginning and they got a lot of hate for that.
The fact that u actually replied to 99% comments tells a lot about u.. Ovio in a positive way😇. Haha.. Thnkyou for reacting to bts.. It was a really good reaction👍
I enjoy interacting with my viewers! I appreciate you guys watching and subscribing to my channel 😁 thank you!
I love BTS, I listened to this song at least a thought times already
lol it's pretty good!
nah they're all men they're just beautiful. south korean culture is heavily influenced by looks. you gotta have beautiful skin, eyes, nose, face shapes, figures all that jazz , especially if you're in the entertainment industry. if you look at their entertainment industry you'll see everyone looks clean and flawless. if you only understand american culture then you're in for culture shock when diving into "kpop". thanks for the reaction!
Yeahhh that makes complete sense! I just reacted to their MIC DROP song 🤯 very impressed!
Most definitely! I'm new to this whole scene, but I see why they're killing the game!
@@BiggerThanMeTV enjoy the trip down the rabbit hole. I fell in in May of this year and I still haven't come up for air. Having a blast though!

Laughed when you said this was the song that was playing as someone is dancing down the street with earphones in. I can totally see that. 😂
hahaha it's the first thing that popped in my head when I heard it!
Ahhh okay that helps clear it a bit for me! Thank you for that! 🙏
We actually have no confirmation that they are all cisgender. It may even be ciscentric to assume so. They don't say specifically where they are on the spectrum of sexuality, and we don't ask. It really doesn't matter. :)
@@flyushkifly I would say baby pictures and context are enough confirmation.
They're all men, obviously. It's just that korean standards of beauty are somewhat different than what we westerners are used to. Men are so much softer and kinder, even boyish-like shy. I quite like it actually.

Iam 38 years old. I think we are happy army. :)
You mean 50 years young 😁 this song is great!
@@BiggerThanMeTV I'm so glad you liked it. And thanks for the age correction :)

Hi Aaron! I just watched your reaction video of Agust D - Daechwita so I came here to see your first BTS music video. The only thing I want to say to you is there is a reason why the fans “Armys” love BTS and they are the biggest band in the world. I hope you will keep digging into their music and message to find out for yourself 💜
Ahh thank you for checking out this video as well. I plan on digging a little deeper and seeing just what that reason is 💜
Good point about the vibe. They said they released this to make people feel better if this difficult time. Glad you got the feeling behind it!
💜Thank you for reacting to BTS💜
🙌🙌🙌
Lmao at the pause on Jimin and comparison to a girl. Yup. Happens. Every. Time. This reactors smile cracked me up. 👍🏻
hahaha I was caught a little off guard 😂
alot of "Idols" in S. Korea wear jewlery an makeup. They are all very "Male". But take excellent care of skin hair etc. When not filming they look natural. They have grew up together so like brother's. S. Korea has diff fashion.
For sure! It just caught me off guard at first but I dig it!
For sure! and yes I will check those out!
Hi. Thank you for the positive vibe reaction.😁
VERSATILITY is one of the words that I can describe BTS.
I think you will enjoy MIC DROP or FIRE if you are into hip hop.
ON - Kinetic Manifesto film and BLACK SWAN are their 2020 songs that also showcase their multifaceted skills.
Have fun! 💜
Ahh thank you! They're very versatile for sure. And okay, I'll check them out! 😁
But the did an online concert that 750000 Armys paid for
Most definitely! They're amazing!
A lot of people have told me that there's rappers in this group. I'll have to check it out! THANK YOU!!! 😁
im subscribing because of the “milk and oreos” lol
thanks for giving bts a chance looking forward to more bts reactions!
hahaha best snack ever 😜 & thank you for subscribing! 💜💜
So this is how smart they are! They made their brand go public on the stock market. They racked up over 100 million dollars.
I live in NC.
hahaha that's what I'm hearing, that I'll fall down the hole! I'll do my best!
Jimin es perfección 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜👀
💜💜
Great reaction. THANKS 💜
Thank youuu!!
They're definitely all men. They fit the Korean male beauty standards which favors what Americans would consider a pretty and androgynous look. An interest in skincare and makeup for males is pretty normal in Korea and is almost required for Kpop stars and actors.
That makes sense! I wasn't thinking about how big that is in the Asian culture at the time
Thanks for the reaction!
Of course, thank you!
thanks for ur nice reaction ur so good to be true bts is so amazing theyre awesome i love them so much
Made me laugh when you said "give me a glass of milk and some cookies" because ironically enough the guy who was drinking milk in the beginning is named Jungkook and his nickname is "Kookie" 🤗
hahah yeahhh that's what people were telling me after I posted this 😂 how perfect lol
Korean idols could pull off any outfits. Their fashion styles are on point! They have to take care of their skin well to be an idol. Male idols are prettier than girls 🤩
Whatever they're doing, it's working! lol they're killing it right now 🙌
Obrigado por sua reação ao BTS💜😍🇧🇷🇧🇷 amamos.
🙌🥰
Thank you for your reaction. If you decide to react to more BTS then you will need to turn on your cc for Lyrics/subtitles, since most of their songs are in Korean and English. BTS is not the typical kpop group. If fact their sound and music doesn't even fall in the kpop genre. We call it BTSpop since they do a wide variety of music. Looking forward to other BTS reactions.
The subtitles will help a lot lol thank you!
I would love to see you jump into the BTS "rabbit hole" as we call it. You will be so surprised. Try Mic Drop next for a whole different feel !
That's what I'm going to check out next lol idk if I have time to go down the rabbit hole but I will for sure peek my head in 😂
Just think of them as men that didn't grow up with the western toxic masculinity.
For an easier, friendly nudge, especially if you're an American, try MIC DROP, Steve Aoki's mix
If you want to see some hardcore, check Daechwita, AgustD. Or Joke, RM. Cypher series. Ddaeng. Ugh.
Into dance choreo? ON Kinematic Manifesto.
You like cinematic stuff? ON the MV
A romantic dude? Black Swan, any version.
Want to see how good they really are? MMA 2018, MAMA 2018, MMA 2019, MAMA 2019. Live.
Anyway, thank you for reacting!
Good luck.
About them being pretty... yup, they are sooo beautiful. But also soooo men. Believe me Jungkookie might look soft as puppy but he can yeet you across the room like nothing. Oh and he has sleeve tattoes. Very muscular bod. And Jiminie has black belt on Taekwondo and is a master of Kendo. Namu, Jin, Suga, Hoba, they can be very intimidating :)
Don't get fooled by their looks... I'm 44 y.o. mom, I know quality when I see one ...
Ahhh okay for sure! Thank you for that!
Your eyes😱👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
It's a Korean Fashion thing ❤ esp. doing performances. Nothing wrong being pretty guys.
I was baffled when I first watched them too so I feel you 😅
haha nooo nothing wrong with that at all!
I’ll wait for your next bts’s reaction. I am telling you, these people are awesome!
I'm working on getting around to them again! 🙏
The Mic Drop song caught me off guard!
Bigger Than Me TV - I watched your new vid! Yes! It will get better and better once you actually get to know them, but it will take time. There are overwhelming amount of songs and videos of them you can react to. Their live performances are great as well.
@@sca3885 One song at a time haha 🙏
You should absolutely react to THIS IS BTS INTRODUCTION TO BTS PART 1 after that you'll decide if you could continue reacting their videos or not. BTS deserve a lot of respect you'll see why.
A few people have recommended that video! I'll have to check it out 🙌
*4:25** JIMIN IS PRETTY SASSY but he is MANLY than you think lol watch him more "JIMIN EXPERIENCE IN MARTIAL ARTS/JIMIN EXPLOSION TALENT" :)*
Yeah I heard he's super into martial arts!
You are so kind , replied the comments , thx for react BTS.
I do my best! It's starting to get harder and harder as the page grows. But I appreciate you watching and supporting! 🥰
Best part of the review "they look likr the realist anime characters alive" IRL sir lol
hahaha they really did though! 😂
Perfect comments. Spot on.
🙌
You should check more of bts. That is not their usual songs. And they are amazing dancers
I will! 😁
They are guys and they do push the boundaries fashion wise and are pretty as fu*k. Let go of what you perceive as masculinity in the west.
for sure, it's just the cultural view that's engraved in my mind 🤦♂️
Bigger Than Me TV if you watch them on tv shows run or bonvoyage even in interviews it will give you a clearer picture.
Absolutely! I mean't no disrespect by it 🙏 I am actually getting into personal skin care myself!
Definitely all men. Just because they are gorgeous doesn't make them gender benders. All Kpop artists wear make-up. Male and female. Western artists all wore make-up especially in the 70 's and 80's, usually European
For sure!
Its like that in Korea in general.
lol thank you for that! 🥰 and yeah I don't know why Google pulled that up lol but they're all very talented! I dig it!!
