Return to Table Mountain

The last footage I posted was my impacting Table Mountain at terminal velocity back in February of 2012. This footage is of my first jump back at Table Mountain in January of 2019. @jeanjacques_wallis was kind enough to fly with me for my first jump back at the mountain that almost killed me twice. Most people don’t know about the first time back in 2002 but I wrote an entire chapter in my autobiography explaining everything. This is the jump my book both starts and ends with. I am not sure why but jumping Table Mountain again was truly horrifying for me. I had done way more technical and dangerous jumps between my accident and my return to South Africa but for some reason deep in my mind this place scared me.

I went back to a trad route that I didn’t have the experience for, that almost killed me. It felt easy as can be, but the memories remained. Great feeling to get back up and accomplish it.
